I think I will be avoiding online tonight then. Gives me a chance to do the knife flights and letter scraps.
 
I checked social club about 40 minutes ago and my online character was there. Started the game and its gone and its gone on social club now aswell. Lost all my money ( cash and atm ) and it also says im not in a crew which I am leader of. Friend of mine also lost character today.
 
I've been playing flawlessly for an hour now. Started with solo, did mission, then went to public lobby
 
Lost my character on XBL. Got to level 29! the strange thing is though, is that when checking the social club, it still has my deathmatch stats and money spent/earned etc.

I'm hoping that my character will return.

Hmm, I may have joined the "lost" group. As previous and above, my character is showing up in the Social club but when I go to start a game it puts me on the character creation screen with the 1-5 player thing, showing nothing in any slot..

It should be fine, this happened to me earlier today when the servers where playing up.

Yeah that was my hope. I was going to go online with some friends but told them I'm going to wait this out and see if he returns first, even if it means leaving it for the night.

Good idea, I just exited online because I couldn't join anything so I think the servers are being dodgy. I'd definitely suggest leaving it alone for the night.

I will try getting online tomorrow then, if there's any hope in my character returning, I will wait it out.

Extremely optimistic. But I was hoping that the patch released yesterday, would have helped stop these problems occurring.
 
My character is still showing on the R* social club site so I think I'll keep it save with doing some more story mode untill online is more stable. Still need to do some things to get 100% anyway.

BTW, almost 300 members in the GTP crew!!!

Was at 300. Went back to 299 :p.
 
Isn't there another mission that pays 9k. I believe it was for Gerald and you had to blow up cars.
 
For some reason it won't let me join crew members online, saying I'm not a member of one, but am a member of both GTP and TC88 crews. Seriously Rockstar?
 
So does solo work with an absurdly high ping? Anyone know if it just downloads the data from R*'s server? I'd try, but I'm trying to wait a little bit so the server traffic dies down a bit.
 
I've usually been able to get onto solo providing the cloud servers are up, even if I can't get onto a public lobby.
 
Can anyone confirm their character has returned after abduction?:nervous: Ive since created a new one and hooked up with the Team GTP Crew so not all bad.:sly:
