*frown* Really? I thought you would at least get it the day it were released...

Maybe, but I chose the 2-7 day delivery because it was free. It comes out in two days.

But what's a day or two when you've been waiting several months?

i havent pre orded yet though being in AUS i dont think i will get it until ages after yous as they always delay the games here.

Is the PS2 even available in Australia yet?
Is that a joke? If you are talking about the PStwo, then it's available on October 29th.

Small-Fryz -- San Andreas is released in Australia on October 29th, also.

I'm getting both (PStwo and San Andreas) on the same day. Taking the day off school and waiting at EB before the store opens to get them!
Viper_ManiacI just got word from the guy up at my EB store that they will be giving out SA to people who preordered at around 7pm on the 25th. I wont be able to get mine til about 9:30pm that night cuz I gotta work. Oh well. Still getting it before the 26th. w00t.[/Quote
I find most of the people that are saying this sort of thing are just making this up to prove something. Now, I'm not directing this at you, Viper_Maniac, but it seems that 75% of the people here are getting this game on Monday.

Well, I don't believe a word of it. I think possibly 1 or 2 people may be able to, but it's probably being obtained illegally and/or the company that is selling it to these 1 or 2 people are breaching their contract. The rest of the people, I think, are trying to make people jealous of them by saying they are getting the game early.

This is not a personal attack on anyone, but I am just seeing this as aggravating and stupid.

You don't know if you're getting the game on wednesday, Klos. Unless something changed in the past hour.

Well, I'm betting I get it on Wednesday. Tuesday is the earliest I can get it, though.

Either way, it doesn't matter. I won't be able to play it until Thursday.

Klostrophobic
I'm getting the game on Wednesday, so take that.

You're taking off from school to buy a game? Sad.
And you were saying that you're getting the game on tuesday when you can't obtain a legal copy untill wednesday (unless the store breaks contract)...sad

jk

Like Deli said, it's not a game, it's the game. And I don't care. School means nothing to me really. But that's my choice.

My dad won't cancel the order off amazon! :(

I'm planning to go into town of Friday (mates B-day) and thought I could pick it up while I was there. The biggest problem is my school holidays will have ended by teh time the game is delivered so I wanted to get it Friday.
My dad makes me so angry :grumpy:

Dayum... I didn't preorder it. I preordered GT4.:( Oh well less than a day more for waiting.:)
uhhh..... Do you actually think you can get a copy of SA on the day it is released? Don't you live in San Jose?

Best of luck to you. Believe me, you WILL need it.

On a related note, I got Vice City the second day out with no reservation. I got it from Sam's Club. :D I was incredible lucky. Then again, my town is only 25,000 people big.

I've preordered gta on dvd.co.uk, and have been thinking, it comes out here on the 29th(uk), which is a friday, so do you think they'll get the game delivered/posted on the thursday so that it arrives on the friday, or (which i guess is more likely) they'll post it on the friday which means i have to wait even longer....?

Well if you have the required money, and you get in there on opening, you're sure to get it. Get in there first day, and you'll most likely get it.

Yes! My local Gamestop will be giving out their copies tomorrow the 25th at around 4:00 pm. And I just pre-ordered today!
Uh huh. Seeing that Gamestop are certainly a company that like to breach contract...👎

They will most likely send it out on the Friday, meaning you will get it on the Friday late afternoon, or Saturday. Most likely. That's just an estimation, but it's the best estimation I can come up with.

If its really bothering you im sure they have some sort of cantact outlet, where you can get intouch with them, and ask what the deal is with there shipping schedule.

HE HE HE you may have made him cry, So sarcastic!.

I should have GTA in my possession by 2:30 tuesday. I should be able to play it from 2:50 to 3:30, when I have to go to work. If I get any homework, I am gonna kill that teacher! Cause I'm gonna play it from 9:00PM tio 12:00AM tusday night. Repeat for every weeknight until Halo 2.

No, I said the earliest I could get the game would be Tuesday, if it takes the posted 2 days to ship the game to my house. I'm doubting this will happen, though.

If I get it sometime next week I'll be happy. Sad, indeed.

High school isn't that important, anyway. I flaked off for four years and I'm going to the college I want to go to.

Ha! :)

I don't see what's so hard to believe that people will be getting the game on Monday/Tuesday. What is this so-called contract that says stores can't sell the game until 6:00 PM? I've never heard of anything like that before.

Oh i and others believe that poeple will get the game before its official release.
What they find hard to believe is that large game stores would break cantractual aggrements on the release date. i.e gamestop would most probably have an aggrement with Take Two interactive that they will not release the game to the American public before 12am tuesday at the earliest. This whole opening after hours and releasing the game at 6pm monday may be a loophole in there aggrement, so you may be correct.

This info from gtagaming.com should clear up this argument once and for all.

Over the past few days, we've recieved many, many feedback submissions about the game's release date. Mainly, they've comprised of things like "my local store is selling it at 7pm on Monday". Today, we can finally lay these rumours to rest and provide everyone with clarification of the game's release dates.

It should first be noted that the official release date still stands as Tuesday, October 26th. However, two of the United States' biggest games retailers, Gamestop and Electronics Boutique (EBGames) have decided they're going to throw away the rulebook and sell it one day early, starting late on Monday evening, to those who have preordered a copy. We're not yet sure if this is going to be the case nationwide, but from the automated calls people have been receiving from both retailers, it's clear that it's going to be on a very great scale. So, our advice is that if you've not yet preordered, get over to the website of either Gamestop or EBGames and choose the instore pickup option. Then, call the store and enquire as to when they'll be selling it; you'll probably be pleasantly surprised :)

The reasoning behind this is simple, but treads on some shady legal ground. Both retailers are signed up to binding non-disclosure agreements, meaning they aren't supposed to sell the game before October 26. Cunningly, the stores will sell the game shortly before they close on Monday evening, meaning that nobody can enquire about their stock levels before the game's release. If anyone of great importance were to ask about their stock the later, they can simply claim they sold it first thing on Tuesday morning, the day of the game's official release.

Unfortunately, Europeans like myself are going to have to wait until this Friday to lay hands on the game. It is somewhat strange, considering a huge proportion of the game's development is done right here in sunny Scotland.
I'm still yet to see a firm release date for Australia, but it's looking likely that it'll be the same as Europe's.

Look for final reviews of the game from IGN and Gamespot tomorrow. With one perfect score from Official Playstation Magazine already, how close to the perfect 10 can San Andreas come?

And finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Grand Theft Auto is on sale Tuesday for Game Boy Advance. It's been somewhat overshadowed by the coverage given to San Andreas, but if you're looking for a great handheld title, this would be well worth the $29.99 stores are set to sell it for. Rated M, it's not going to shy away from the controversy the other titles in the series have succeeded in causing. Check out the screenshots!

Hmm, thanks for that information R32GTST/M. That's some nice confirmin' there. ;)

Sorry to all that got offended by my rant before, I was making a general statement. I wonder if EB Games will do that in Australia, and sell it on Thursday night? (late night shopping)

I hope so. I'm taking the day off school tomorrow, so I'll get over there and check with them about it, as well as hand in my dodgy PS2 and games.

Again. Sorry.

the Gamestop I am picking up my copy from called to tell me that I could come to the store monday eve. at 7pm . I think because they are selling the pre - orders after normal hours ( they are staying open till 11pm ..maybe longer depending on the crowd or lack of ) they can get around the aggreement.

That's interesting. It is indeed very shady legal ground, R* and Take-Two could have something to say, since it is obviously public news now. I'd be interested to see if R* says something and forces them to hold it untill tuesday, I mean if they know they'll do it, can't they do anything about it?

I hope they do force some action cause it kinda makes a mockery of release dates and its unfair to other gamestores.

Yeah, because in reality that IS illegal. I don't think they should be able to do that, it's not particularly fair on other gamestores or on other people. Why have a release date if major stores will not stick to them.
