So we are gran turismo professionals. ;)

Looking forward to this race guys, lots less bumps then eiger and hopfully a bigger turnout.

With this race, no matter the turnout I think will be an action packed one as with the less bumps people will be drafting and passing like crazy.

I will hopefully join for this race, can't guarantee anything until Christmas though.

yes and the race at eiger we could have done a lot faster if we not was spun so many times :)

Yeah that was one 🤬 of a track.

Just getting some early practise over here on the expert karting challange.

Deep Forest was going to be a consideration but after testing it a few times it became clear that it wasn't going to be a possible track. The final 2 turns coming to the back straight are so bumpy that it is impossible not to spin at.

Also with Daytona, coming into the chicane there is quite the large bump but sometimes you hit it and other times you don't.

Awesome, the 5th picture from the bottom is where i almost went straight into the pits because of a weird landing. Managed to save it some how.

An update on the series. Whoever turns out to be the winner of the series gets the keys to a new Peugeot 908 HDi FAP Oreca Matmut.

Also if people really don't want Eiger again, it can either be removed or substituted for another track.

Gentlemen, get your minds out of the gutter! :D

Also one thing is I'm rearranging the order of the tracks so we won't do the autumn ring twice ina row.

Also a name to the series: PDI World Cup

pics from the race on eiger

Awesome pictures! The big landscape shot with the mountains and all the crowds......well that just happens to be my kart in the shot and that is now my wallpaper on my work computer! Thanks for posting these!!

I'd probably be in favor of replacing Eiger with a different track. I find it quite fun and challenging to race against game AI, but there are just too many variables during a real race that can ruin somebody's event/championship. I spent hours and hours practicing that track to learn every bump and jump and how to handle them but it somehow seemed completely different during the race and I never could get a handle on it. If we run the championship again, I would like it to return to the schedule because I do enjoy the challenge and dynamics of it, but I think once per season is enough. I don't think it should be the season ender either, we want a close fight for the final race that pits skill against skill, and not just who's luckiest in avoiding the bumps.

Having said that, I feel I should also provide a suggestion for a replacement track. I haven't put much thought into it until just now, but I would kinda like to see the Indy Road Course added to the schedule. I know the short-shute going to the final turn and into the looooooong straightway is kinda cumbersome in a kart, but I think in a full race it would lead to some awesome drafting and passing. I could see 2 or 3 karts coming out of the second to last turn on the final lap, catching a draft and passing each other several times before crossing the line in a thrilling photo finish! I also think the infield section is very fun for the karts, it's rather technical but big enough that you really can carry some speed through the turns, and then the Hullman Straightaway through the middle creates some drafting opportunities to setup for the final section around the Hall of Fame. But, I guess I'm probably a little biased because I live an hour away from that track and go there several times a year. :)

Actually that was the track i was thinking about replacing Eiger with. I don't know how i left it out as it is a track where you are not just on the gas all the time. So It is a possibility that it will get switched.

Awesome. I've done a couple races online there, and they end up being quite fun! The track recreation is amazing too, I've been there many many times and I can see all the different spots in the infield that I've sat during races, as well as all the jumbo-tron screens and the giant Speedway water tower outside of Indy turn 2. I've stood on the track surface and even the grooves are recreated!

It truly is a fantastic place, and one of my favorite places in the world to be. The only thing I could wish for is that they also had the MotoGP layout available in GT5. They go the opposite direction as the F1 track (same direction as Indy cars/NASCAR) and the layout is slightly different at the southside of the track (Indy turns 1 and 2). They use a chicane just past the pit exit where they cut into the infield briefly and then enter the oval track between Indy 1 and 2, slingshot around 2 and then cut back into the infield at the beginning of the back stretch. But I'm not complaining, as I'm very thrilled to have the 2 versions that we do have!
