GTMSA Presents
SuperGT Season 9

Information & Signup

Welcome to season 9 of the SuperGT Championship. We start off fresh and begin a new chapter as we now kick off our first season on GT5. The cars have changed and so has the format but we shall see if the competition and great racing continues

So come one, come all and signup for the longest running series in GTP!

General Information and Regulations

8 Rounds
2 day race weekend. One for Practice and one for Qualifying and race

Race weekend starts on Saturday with Practice at 4:00 PM EST, then Sunday with Qualifying at 4:00, then Race starts at 4:30 pm EST on Sunday

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by SuperGT sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me RACECAR or oldmodelt) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

  • Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
  • No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
  • Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
  • No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
  • All decisions by GTMSA officials are final

Qualifying

  • 15 min Session
  • Depending on amount of competitors total, will use Knockout Qualifying in Designated Lounges
  • RS only
  • ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
  • 1 point for Pole

Race

  • Race's will be ~62 miles (100km) in length
  • Weight penalties in place
  • RS, RM, RH tires or any combination thereof
  • Tire Wear & Fuel Consumption on
  • Forced Pit Entry penalty system
  • ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
  • Points for race: 20-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2
  • 1 Points for fastest lap

Weight Penalty System

Weight penalties will be applied in QUALIFYING AND RACES. Weight will be added or subtracted depending on the finish of the competitors for all points-paying races while special rounds will not be affected. The following penalties will be allocated after the results of the race and apply only for the next round:

1st +5%
2nd +3%
3rd +1%
4th - 6th 0%
7th & 8th -1%
9th & 10th -2%
Lower -3%

Please note that if you don't run the race, your BHP and kg values for the next round will remain the same as before. In other words you WON'T get a decrease in weight for not racing.

Championship Deciders

If one or more cars are tied for points in the championship, the decider will be as follows:

  • Number of race wins
  • Number of pole positions
  • Number of second places
  • Number of third places etc.

For example, if you choose the Raybrig NSX, the #100 on the car will be what you use. The only exception is the Xanavi Nismo Z and the Yellowhat YMS Supra since they are the only cars that do share a number. Competitiors will be allowed to choose numbers for GT300 since its a much smaller in terms of car choice.

Unless I can get a good shedload of funds to get a GT500 car, I'll be contesting only the GT300 class for S9. Though I imagine it'll still be OK to join GT500 as well mid-way thrugh the season. :)

Don't think I'll ever make any of the Practice sessions though if they are at 7:00pm GMT.

Both entries have been added (will post list in first post later). Also since this format has changed, I encourage input regarding the scheduling of sessions so I can make it work for at least many of the competitors.

Ok, we can work something out. As I said, lets discuss times so we can make it better.

Well I'm running a Kart Series on Saturdays starting at 7pm GMT, so 9pm GMT wouldn't be a bad time for me. For the Sunday times those are perfect.

EDIT: Just bought the RX-7 and the only gripe with the car is a terrible blind spot in the cockpit, but the fantastic engine idle sound makes up for it.

Welcome to the series. I'm afraid you'll have to take 18 instead as GT500 cars will be confined to the number thats on the cars themselves.

Pre-season: Trial Mountain beginning Monday 25th January

That would be the 24th. The 25th is a Tuesday.

Hi. Sorry to sound a bit thick but i've never done competition like this before. Does it work the same way as you would go about joining a race in the online lounge on GT5? How do I know and find the race to join on the Sarurday night?

Sorry I wasn't more clear myself. It'll take place in my lounge. Now if there are more then 16 people total for either class, they'll be seperate races in separate Lounge, the 2nd lounge of coures being whomever is available to volunteer and host it.

Hi. Just tried to add you "GTP_RACECAR" on the PSN as a friend so I can join your lounge on Sat night but i got a message saying you have reached your max amount of friends. Is there another way to get into your lounge or will I have to go into someone elses on the night?

I'm going to join this in one of the Lexus GT500 cars. I don't which one yet, but my Number is gonna be 99

RACECAR I would like in, but why arent the Lexus GT500 cars allowed?

They are on the list so they are allowed. I just forgot to put Lexus next to them.

It would be an honor to be par of this llegendary series.

Just one observation, one of the Nissans is a level 21 car with 100 ft lbs of torque more then any other Super GT car (510 ft lbs) . Every other Super GT car is level 19-20 with 375-425 ft lbs of torque . I've raced against this car online he was gapping me a c ar length out of every low speed corner

Is there a way to adjust torque? Maybe I could make that change if it is. Also, You'll have to use the number thats already on the car since GT500 is far bigger then GT300.

I dont think there is.

Since its just one car I'd suggest making it illegal for the season

Are the pre-season races at 7pm GMT? Because I'm still in school by then. If you bumped those back 30 minutes i'd be there.

Well, lets see it does in shakedown testing. I don't think we really have an idea as to how much fast it is on caparison to the others. If the gap is very big however, then it'll definately be not allowed for this season. Which car is it?

Sure, I can turn it back by an hour.
