I'm not really a fan of pre-1970 ugly mustangs that have sad/scared face for front fascia but the dark green paint made it sub-zero.

Yes. Post 1970 Mustangs. Those are the not ugly ones.

The upper one looks alright, the down one looks simply great and the 1970 model being the best looking one (at least in my opinion).

Beauty is, of course, in the eye of the beholder. It's just that most beholders consider those two I posted to be some ugly freaking cars. ;)
 
Sub Zero. Its a Shelby. And it had an optional supercharger for 350+ horsepower.


As far as the MII you all know my opinions on that car.
 
Sub-Zero. '65 Mustang + Shelby = Colder than ice.

One of my shop teachers in high school had one(He also had a Mercur XR4ti), the thing looks even better in the flesh.
 
Shelby before it became a bloated, tire-smoking caricature of its former self... cool.

Hertz rent-a-racer? Absolute sub-zero. Ever wonder why we always say "the fastest car is a rental car?" Now you know.

Bonus: not a racecar.
 
I said in the GT500 Cool Wall thread that the GT350 gets a sub zero, and I'm keeping my word.

Those aren't uncool. Talking the ears off people about the concepts of suspension design is uncool.

If the car doesn't ride like a cart and doesn't tip you out of the car when you corner, then suspension is fine as far as coolness is concerned.

Except it was actualy good and rides well.

Oh and they were raced like that and sill kick ass to this day. I could say the same about IRS.

Before you make opions in that have you ever actually driven a car like these?
 
Driven cars with leafsprings and solid rear axle? Yes. Utter rubbish on gravel road, and so so on tarmac

They really don't drive that bad. But I guess everyone has their own opinions.
 
Even the production GT350's used the same suspension as the race versions. Only difference was a slightly softer setting for the adjustable Koni shocks.

I'm sure this car handled the corners alright on and off the track.
 
Feel free to take a look at the hundreds of videos on YouTube running with some really quick IRS cars. Nothing puts down power like a solid axle.
 
GT350's won SCCA's B production Championship in '65, '66, & '67. Racing against cars such as the 289 Cobra, Corvette, Jaguar XKE, Sunbeam Tiger, and Lotus Elan.

Ford and Shelby must have done something right with the suspension.
 
Think Porsche was in there too.

If they werent with this car they raced against the Boss 302 in the T/A series with Alfa Romeo etc and they all got spanked.
 
I didn't even know you could get the slushbox with one of these. Was it only with the Hertz?
 
I would hardy call a C4 a slush box just because its an auto lol. But no, it was optioned on them all as far as I know but wasnt very popular.

I still say the best option it was was the supercharger. Which I love how that was totally ignored in the Op.
