I like Shelby Mustangs but I prefer Boss Mustangs, and this one gets a very high end cool but not quite Sub Zero.

I wonder if slash regrets posting that since it makes him look like a little kid (15 at most).

Voted meh. Ugly car imo.

Well, try to imagine this loud, flashy, obnoxious car driving through a European city, where people are used to Euro chic German and British cars with their quiet, restrained styling. It'll be as much out of place and uncool as a pink Fiat 500 convertible somewhere in redneck country.

They've just had uncool cars for so long, they think those cars are cool.

Also, not seeing why NYC would hate this car. Hot Rod Magazine took a couple of drag-spec Bel Airs, similar in the effect they'd have on people, and the whole city loved them, except for one grumpy guy who came out of his hotel room to tell them their photo shoot outside the hotel was annoying him.

@mustang fanatic At GTP, it's just not considered OK to identify with big V8 engines.

@mustang fanatic I asked for an explanation, and all you say is "What's wrong with that?", that isn't good enough for me.

A old Mustang with a 7.0L V8 is the best car in the world?

Explain yourself.
Except it's not your typical run-of-the-mill 7.0L V8.

It's literally a NASCAR spec engine. There was 3 revisions, S, T, and A code. S code is the pretty much a straight up NASCAR engine, hardly any detuning. The other 2 are more common street versions with emissions etc. It's a hemi for one, spins 9k RPM, makes uber amounts of power etc etc etc.

Hmmmmm.......

I don't know, Most Muscle cars I don't really like because they feel so useless for anything beyond drag racing, also it's a Mustang.

No Cobra 427, no go.

Meh.

10 second quarter miles are within reach with light work. Pretty sure that's enough to scare the hell out of anyone

The Boss 429 isn't your average muscle car though. It's a factory track car/sleeper.

Although it's so high on the pedestal today that the sleeper factor is pretty much gone. It's so cool you don't even have to ride in it to know it's fast. You just look at it and go "whoa".

A sleeper is a car that in no way gives away that it is fast as hell, the Boss 429 fails at that because it has a big intake on the hood, and Boss 429 lettering behind the front wheels.

It's not anywhere near as flashy as a Mach 1 or Boss 302.

The Boss 429 was a standard Mustang shell with very beefed up underpinnings, a hood scoop and a small decal. Nothing special about it looks wise, other than it was aggressive looking from the front. Add to the fact there there's simply very few around.

It's my dream car. It's like you guys are telling me it can't be my favorite car.

No one said that, but your bias towards it doesn't make it the best car. Also voting cool isn't about how much you like it personally. And on the subject of dream cars, I too was young once and thought cars like the Testarossa and Diablo and RT/10 Viper that were framed on my bedroom wall were great cars that I'd want to own one day. Then I grew up and realized what car culture was and didn't just keep it to a select few.

I find owning a Audi 200 or Quattro, or Ford Escort MK I or 993 far more a dream car than the generic American Muscle or European Sports car.

Prepare yourself for inevitable Cool Wall =/= Like Wall lecture, even though I'm guessing you wouldn't like it if you didn't think it was cool.

Yes W&N because like and cool are synonymous with one another. I like watching Disney with my daughter, but the only person that finds that any bit cool is her. I hope this simplistic point can be understood by even you.

"Generic American Muscle"

wat

Not sure what confused you, this is usually a dream car on a generic level for those who want to one day aspire to own a Muscle car. Just like a 68-70 R/T Charger, or 67-69 Camaro Z/28 (I'm guilty of the Camaro bit but at least I'm honest with myself).

You made them sound more bland then they actually are, that's all

No. That's not the case at all. I like AMC Gremlins. Do I think they're cool? Not really.

So even you understand the concept...that W&N fails to grasp with each passing year.

It's my favorite car ever. Is that better for you?

I know it is, because you just said that a few times already :indiff:. Your user name leaves only so many choices...

Also I'm not trying to get you to conform to anyone, what I'm saying is it's easy to say that a car is your ultimate favorite right now especially when you don't think beyond a single era of cars. What I've simply said is that it isn't the best car because you think so (just to you) and that even if you think so right now that may not always be the case.

Why you're so sour to the point of an eye roll because I'm being logical...is beyond me

I like the Isdera Imperator that just so happened to be polled back in April.

Not that it stopped me voting uncool, since it looks ridiculous. Yet that's actually part of the reason why I like the car itself. There are plenty of vehicles out there that people may be fond of but don't label "cool" simply because they have a predilection for them.

We tend to not think past that era of cars because nothing else flat out appeals to us lilke those do.

To the point people like them constantly when it comes to Muscle cars...they are. I only voted cool other than meh because I've always thought of these as a mean version to what the Charger or Chevelle are without being them. I also saw the same in the 302, but also because of it's race history and performance for the time.

Still doesn't change the fact that many people go to these cars by default or worse the Shelbys because picking a Plymouth Roadrunner or Chevy II Nova or a Ford Torino or Comet is just too original for them.

We tend to not think past that era of cars because nothing else flat out appeals to us lilke those do.

I understand that, but to be fair it's a bit ignorant not to and then go ahead a vote when cars outside of this sphere come up. Luckily votes are subjective so even though ignorant by choice, this doesn't disallow you from making a choice (even if ridiculous because you're misinformed).
