V8. Check.

Pop-up headlights. Check.

Purple. Check.

Cool. Check.

Kind of a weird car that spanned one of the coolest eras for cars, with clean curves and funky pop-up headlights. An attainable Porsche that is simultaneously more "legit" than the 9x4 cars but also arguably a more questionable purchase, which nets it some points for being a bit unloved and neglected. Very solid Cool, but then again, it's a pre-996 Porsche so that's kind of a foregone conclusion in my book.

It's rear-wheel* drive V8 Porsche.

And it isn't a Panamera.

Sub-zero Despite the ridiculous price tag, the unreliability, and the fact that it's still a rich man's toy for men with tight pants and gold chains.

EDITED: It's a REAR wheel drive V8 Porsche.

But a front-wheel drive V8 Porsche would be awesome.

Even as a flat-6 fan I still love these. But my feelings don't make them any cooler unfortunately. They were designed to replace the 911 and herald an new water-cooled FR era for Porsche, but unfortunately they misjudged their customer base who continued to buy the 911 SC (now hailed as the save of the 911) as fast as they could make them and thus the legend continues. The Panamera of it's day? Possibly. And they're not cool either.

Cool from me, but probably a meh for most people as 99% of them are unloved with prices to match.

Cool. But then I had one from 1982 as a daily driver in the 90s.

The early ones are such a lovely, clean shape.

Non of the 911 baggage either.

Cool

Meh--rather a 944. Coolest bits are the phone dials so long as they're mounted on something else.

Style for days. A really great car cut short by nostalgia for the old fashioned 911. The 911 eventually became a properly good car, but it definitely was not during the time of the 928. The 928 was what Porsche wanted to do. Society told them no and they listened. I'm sure at least one engineer cried.

Cool.
