Ah, the Yellowbird. :)

Built in the same year another twin turbo legend was born (the F40 ;)), it took the world by storm by being the first street legal car to break the 210mph barrier only for it to lose that honour a year later to the utterly insane Callaway Sledgehammer TT.

That's not to say that the Yellowbird wasn't insane because it was lighter, more powerful and had a better gearbox than the "Widowmaker" 911 turbo of the time. :scared:

The only '911' based car from that time I would consider more insane is the one used for my avatar. Powered by a turbo charged TAG F1 1.5 V6, it's currently residing in the McLaren museum.

For me, it was always gonna be Sub-Zero. :D

Regardless of how well-known it'd be to the average person (as a RUF), I couldn't bring myself to vote it anything less than SZ. Even legions of kids who've only known it from GT can't knock that down.

I am not that guy... but i am going to be that guy on purpose because its just the opposite of what i think of this car:

Seriously uncool !

I didn't really know of this car until GT, but I'm still going to say Sub Zero. I mean what can I say... it's a 930 Turbo stuck on fast forward. How could that not be cool?

Stop attaching stereotypes to cars; if you did that for every car polled then every car will start to seem uncool to you.

But all cars are either meh or uncool. The whole Cool Wall idea is just a form of escapism that allows people to feel needlessly superior to others. Like this:

Seriously Uncool because bright yellow tuner Porsche*. Only cool to people who have seen the Nurburgring vid - so car people - and car people are all uncool anyway. I'd love to have one and if I did I'd drive it everywhere, but in no way is it cool.

*Yes, I know it's not a Porsche.

I know several dozen people that would flip a tit if they even saw a Fiero that LOOKED like a Ferrari. I don't consider them car people.

Porsches that want to kill you are cool. But nowhere near sub-zero.

I've never known a Porsche that doesn't want to kill someone or hasn't...now this has become a gloomy situation.

It depends, in part I agree with this and the idea. I also agree some people that throw around inane ideas may not be knowledgeable about cars but may enjoy cars as much as me. People who show elitism about a certain car or multiple cars and those who like them or don't get annoying. Especially when there is a prevailing side saying the car is cool beyond a doubt.

The only car I've shown stereotypical elitism towards(against) and still feel was warranted to a degree was the E46

RUF vs Porsche aside, this looks like a classic Porsche, one that is old enough that most of those who buy it for the badge is into the newer ones, which leaves this to the cooler folks. As soon as someone starts explaining how this isn't technically a Porsche and that it's it own manufacturer under German law, this drops to uncool as the listener's eyes glazes over.
