Really? They sold almost 13,000 in the 3 years it was made. 175,000 if you bunch it with the 944 of which it was really just an evolution of. It out sold the 911 in the years it was produced. Hardly a total flop.
And, as further extension, the 924 - one of the various much-maligned entry-level Porsches that ended up saving the company when it couldn't pay its bills with the 911.

What makes no sense is why did they removed all the front engined Porsches in the mid 90s then, if these where soo successful.

To make room for the Boxster.

This basically. The Boxster concept came out in the same year as the 968. It was pretty clear what direction the next entry level Porsche was going to take. The 911 and 924/944/968 shared very little. The Boxster would share a lot of components with the upcoming '996' 911, which slashed costs and made Porsche much more profitable. Another front engined entry Porsche wouldn't have been so profitable because it couldn't have shared much with the 911.

And it was pretty obvious that the 928 wasn't coming back, and what little development costs Porsche could spread out with the 944 when they took it fully in house was done with it.

That 3000GT is sloooow. The much-ballyhooed Lancer Ralliart is quicker than that.

Not a 911. Cool. Not an RX7, not Subzero.

That was pretty easy.
