Stats:
Production: 2003-2004
Style: 2-door coupe, 2-door convertible
Engine: 281ci (4.6L) supercharged V8 (rated 390 HP and 390 lb-ft)
Transmission: 6-speed manual
Layout: Front engine, rear drive

My take? At least cool, probably not quite sub-zero.

Somehow this car never found its way onto the nomination list. I almost added the Volvo 480 Turbo instead. That'll come Tuesday.

I'm a little torn on this one.

I'll admit, I am a sucker for this generation of Ford Mustang, especially the Cobra model. I liked the style ever since I saw it as a little kid. I think a car with nearly 400 horsepower deserves respect as well.

However, just because I like the car, doesn't necessarily make it cool. Hence why I'm not sure exactly what category to put it in. Don't really think it's in the Sub-Zero territory, nor do I think it's Seriously Uncool.

Ah, what the heck.

COOL

Cool. Bit heavy-ish but has performance to overcome it. Has the IRS which is a huge bonus. Suffers from the usual problem of the American sports cars, which is the ridiculous gearing in order to avoid the gas guzzler tax.

Meh. It's another Mustang. Common as muck around the Cool Wall. Too generic to properly stand out.

Sub Zero.

And the 390hp (at the flywheel) factory rating was a lie. I've seen factory stock '03-'04 Cobras on the dyno making 385-390hp at the wheels.

It's got presence. It's got that badass look about I reckon and as muscle cars go one of the best looking from that time and the SVT Cobra says everything.

Sub-Zero

Can we close the poll and lock the thread as this car has been polled previously?

I have seen these things take down some legendary cars in stock form and they are wicked fast.

Sub freaking zero and they have an ass that can't be beat by many other cars.

Déjà vu

Cool. It's got a supercharged DOHC V8 engine, IRS, and good looks to boot, which is better than most other Mustangs. It's not sub-zero but it's defiantly a cool car. I find this weird though, I typically hate cars like this but I find the SVT a genuinely cool car. I guess anybody can wavier on things.

I love Terminators. Therefore I find it cool.

3.55 final drive, 1.3 3rd to 1.0 4th to 0.79 5th to 0.63 6th

What, exactly, is wrong with that?

That engine is cool.

Those looks are...not.

This generation of Mustang brings back memories of high school, when 1/3rd of the girls in my year drove Mustangs, and it seemed like all of them put several strings of mardi gras beads, a couple lanyards, and two or three of those ugly brightly colored fake lei things on the rear view mirror. Classy, that.

I voted Meh, but right now I wish I could change it to Uncool.

+1 if we were talking about the previous Cobras (96-01) which had a 3.27 gear or the 94-95 cars with a 3:08 gear Leonidae@MFT would correct but were not. The '03/'04s were the 1st of the Modern Mustangs to get a good gear ratio from the factory.

I still think this generation (esp. the New Edge ones) is the bestest ( :sly: ) one to date, and the Cobra having an IRS just makes it cooler.

Cool.

Cool car. I would give this a sub zero vote but this is not my favorite year for the mustang.

I don't consider highway gears to get good for a pony car. 3.55 and up are better IMO
