You know a car looks good when its hard to work out whether it or David Beckham looks better.
Well played... well played...
Again, this car is Subzero (wish I could vote twice lol)

Interior is a bit naff by recent Jag standards though, unfortunately.
Agreed, really shows up that in the XK as something dated now.XJ interior is a thing of beauty... IMO, easily the best interior for a car of its type.
Well they've already canned it. No evidence of another on the horizon for the time being, expect they're rather busy with the new small Jag.The current XK showed up in what, 2007? That's getting near "ancient" at this point in the industry. The way things are at Land Rover/Jaguar, I'm not exactly anticipating a refresh of the XK, either.
Said no-one. Ever.one of the worst sounding.
One of the best looking cars in recent times, and also one of the worst sounding.
I'd excuse it for being that way with the V6, but the V8 is hardly any better, it doesn't have any tone to it, just a noise.
Normally I'd put it down to the recording not being able to really show the car as it is, but if you go to a 458 or Corvette video, then they sound nice, and it sounds even better in real life.
So if it sounds like crap in the videos, it's only going to be about a meh in real life.
Not to mention the ridiculous burbles and backfires, I didn't think it was possible to make a car sound worse like that.
Despite them ruining the image of the car with an awful exhaust system, the car still looks awesome.
Cool.
Edit: If it sounded just a wee bit more aggressive than this, then it would be perfect.
Said no-one. Ever.
I drove one. And reviewed it.Listen to either of the Type F videos

It's a slightly better reference for the source sound than a Youtube video.
The way a car sounds in person isn't going to be radically different from a good sound video of it.
Porches, Corvettes, Ferraris, and that AMG all sound similar in a recording as what they do in real life.
Thus, a video is a perfectly good reference for what a car sounds like, and that Jaguar sounds awful.
Also, they should really tighten down headers, because that's what an engine sounds like on the overrun when the bolts are barely screwed in. Either that or it's just mapped wrong.

Indeed, just like Gran Turismo's sound samples are wavelength, amplitude and frequency perfect and sound similar to the real life cars. They're just missing colour a lot of the time - but hey, they're good enough right?Porches, Corvettes, Ferraris, and that AMG all sound similar in a recording as what they do in real life.

The general view of this thread would disagree. In fact, the sound alone seems to be enough to get Sub Zero votes & that's excluding my vote. That doesn't change how they completely missed the mark.
Most video recordings don't sound enough like the real thing.
It's cute that you apply that to Youtube videos

.
That's what I pointed out in a previous post, it's not going to be as good in the video, but the whole characteristic of the car isn't going to change either.
The last video was better, but even in the Laguna Seca one the sound is incredibly raw.
I would expect it to be much smoother, but it sounds like there are 8 small engines in the car rather than one large one.
Let's put it this way... on-camera video sounds are tinny, because non-movie cameras have tiny ears. In-car video sounds are like welding your ear-bone to the door-frame. Just terrible.
I still like the car, but it sounds like they went too extreme on the raspyness and outright noise.
And if you've never heard a nice sounding car go to the dogs, you've never recorded a good blat with a GoPro...![]()
understated purr you'd expect from a Jaguar, but they're trying to make a point about the F-Type being the sportiest Jag to come along for a long time.
And this goes right back to what I was saying earlier about mufflers...
