I actually like quite a few things about this car. In general, I like what Lexus is trying to do with the F Line cars. Three models in, and they've already given AMG/BMW M/Audi RS plenty to think about. (Couple that with the Sciobaru BFRZS twins, and the Toyota=boring joke is becoming old pretty quickly.)

As already mentioned, the 5-liter mill in this car is a pretty solid engine, and by most journalist accounts so far, the boys at F have been doing good things with suspension tuning. This car is a little heavy to be sure, but more-than-competent performance coupled with Toyota reliability is an attractive combination that would certainly catch my attention if I had the money to play in that class of cars.

But there's a but. And it's a huuuuuuge but. That front end is just awful. Every time I would see one of these things, it would be the only thing I'd notice. Put all the good things about this car behind a better face, and it'd be cool. But when nobody ever thinks about all the positives because they're too busy trying to hold their lunches in, there's no way around it. Uncool.

Ugly. That front end is just horrible. But I bet it's fun to drive. Meh for me.

Having to explain why you bought the wrong car, uncool.

M4, is the right car in case you were wondering... :D

That front end of the car, Jesus Christ. if there is a similar car I'd get, would be the GT-86 which is also the BR-Z, WHICH IS ALSO the FR-S.

And automatic only and and the back on it kinda ugly too? I remember the days i liked some of the cars by Lexus. Nowadays, they just try too hard. Uncool.

It probably doesn't equate to "plenty", but I imagine it could be summed up, respectively, with the following:

  • "How few have they sold?"
  • "They're charging how much?"
  • "How much fire would it take to kill it?"

I love this thats why i suggest it to the GTP Cool Wall ... hm it doesn't seem that many of you like it but well im a kind of person who likes different cars and im really bored of the M4 and thats the best car IMO in this class :)

Sub Zero :)

The Lexus IS350 F Sport has been picked over the BMW 335i M Sport (ridiculous names, both) in multiple magazine reviews. Considering that not too long ago, the 3-Series was still basically unbeatable in magazine comparos, I'd say it probably caught BMW's attention.

Three models? There's this monstrosity and the IS-F. What's the third?

The LF-A.

The styling may be "trying too hard", but it obviously works and it sells.

Gave it a cool. Looks better in person in certain colors and definitely entertaining to ride in.

So you're saying that the M4 is the best car in the class and you're bored of it? Assuming that im means I'm instead of variation of the word in in German language.

I'm suggesting that the existence of the LFA is pretty irrelevant to your point about the other two cars even if it is part of the same group.

I wasn't suggesting the LFA had any relevance at all. I mentioned that F has produced three models as a way of noting how young the marque is.

Comprehensively outclassed by both BMW and Mercedes in all the road tests I've seen.

Lexus F cars always reek of try-hard syndrome.

Even if it does best the Bimmers in magazine comparisons, real sports drivers seem to prefer the M cars.

R&T The Sweet Science Comparison; Sept 2013.
Car and Driver May 2013.

I have yet to see Mercedes compared once from US reviewers. It's typically a 3-way between BMW, Lexus, & Cadillac with Infiniti coming in.

It means "I am bored" because it is nothing special ... and no it isn't the best car in that class IMO it's the Lexus ...

I think this sums up it pretty well.

It does strike me though, that the torque that the M4 offers makes it more of a handful to drive. But I'm guessing the electronics and options can be tweaked by the owner to suite their driving style more.

edit: RC-F should do well, it offers a lot of things that some bimmer fans say they miss about the old M3 Coupe, namely the V8 NA engine, and if it is easier to drive I think it will win many fans.

I think it's hideous to look at, but up against the German Three, the RC-F would probably get my money over the RS5.. but I think the M4 and C63 do everything the RC-F does but better, or at least that's the impression I get.

I know you aren't native speaker, but the following sentence doesn't mean that.
im really bored of the M4 and thats the best car IMO in this class :)
It means that "the M4 bores me and it's the best car in the class".

Most people who say the BMW M# is boring have never driven a proper BMW M#.

It's only boring in Gran Turismo.
