Part of the battle with determining whether or not a car is cool is how others precieve it, then you have the hundreds of other parts to it. That was why I said go watch Top Gear, they base coolness on so many different things that it tends to work decently well. While I might not agree with a lot of their choices, the rationale they use to get to it makes sense.

Simply looking at a performance figures and going "it's fast, therefore it's cool" makes the point of the cool wall moot. This is not the GTP Performance Wall for the last time.

And with that I'm done, if you guys want to ruin the cool wall by voting based on one aspect of the car go for it. I'll just continue posting threads.

I like the assumption that I don't watch Top Gear. But I'll be damned if I give two hoots about whether I think Fiona Bruce likes a particular car or not. That has nothing to do with MY opinion on whether a car is cool or not. The very basic premise of the TG cool wall is that it's not meant to reflect personal opinion about the cars.

And I also don't see where you're getting the idea that I base my opinion solely on one aspect. That's simply not the case. I just prioritise some over the others. What other people think simply isn't one of them.

Incidentally, I disagree with a lot of the choices they make. Do you want us to vote according to what we actually think, or according to how we think they would be placed on the TG Cool wall? It kinda seems like you're well skewed towards the latter

Oddly enough, this whole debate that happens in most of these threads is started by you.:dunce:

I'm in fact surprised, very surprised at what people post about this car. practicality? FOR GODS SAKE PEOPLE. It's a freaking small-block on wheels. You dont want practicality in something like this, you want to drive it to the track (because yes, its awesome to drive stuff to the track), blow the doors off everything that gets in your way, then drive back home with a tingling spine and a ear-to-ear grin. Wanting practicality in a supercar is ABSOLUTELY missing the point.

And whoever thinks that you're "out of style" because you drive an Ultima is pretty lame in my book. For me this is one of the few supercars ever worth of the term, because it's actually made to go very fast without worrying about being italian. It has torque, it has room for a basic LS1 or a twin turbo LS7, you can add whatever you want to it, it's like the perfect supercar FOR THE PEOPLE THAT WANT A SUPERCAR TO GO STUNINGLY FAST (which, last time I checked, is what supercars are made for, no?), not to be in style. And yet, it is very stylish, simple and maybe even practical in terms of maintenance in supercar standards. I mean come on, it uses a small block Chevy.

It's like the perfect car for going fast. Absolutely sub-zero for being one of the very VERY few cars that worry more about the hardcore part than the red paint.

EDIT: Also, ask any rapper or football/basketball/soccer/insert your favorite sport here player what an Ultima is, and they dont have one clue. It's the right car for the right people. The people that just want the fastest car around. That alone makes it smashingly sub-zero.

Sub Zero.

It is the Fiat Panda for supercars. Unashamed about what it is, and determined to be the best of its type.

Ive seen and heard the Ultima GTR in person and its not really that nice, it looks and feels like a bog standard kit car, interior is poor and cramped. Also doesnt sound all that good either i.e generic sports car engine growl.
