Over here it has been on and off. . . Another funky thing I have been noticing when I refresh the pages, the font are changing slighty and then another refresh they are fine. Also I have not been doing the ctrl + scroll mouse button, so I know I am not changing the fonts. . . . hmmm.

Yes, the site was down because of network problems. The font should not have changed at all.

I know what he's talking about, since it's happened to me several times... Sometimes, the CSS doesn't fully load, so the browser will set the font to the browser's default size, instead of the 12px or so that you set for the site. Very minor, and nothing server-related AFAIK.

I didn't think so, but had to state it because of the recent events, and the fiending for[Mtvvjsound] my GTP [/Mtvvjsound]:D

took me until now to be able to post today. . . It looks like the server was down for updates or something. I was unable to get an IP address of the site nor even go through a tracert. . . hmmm, could be the servers I was routed through today from Florida. . . a number of things could be it yes. . .

The downtime yesterday is very disconcerting...as miata also noticed it was not accessable in any way, and eventually had to be physically rebooted. There was no apparent reason for the downtime at all. :grumpy:

Hey jordan these servers are really good you should chk them out

Thank you for the link. However, their services don't appear to measure up to what is required for this site.

ServerBeach's dedicated packages are sufficient. However, I'm really not looking to move servers at the moment.

I'm just giving you options for you if it keeps going down like this that's all.

There are also a few things wrong our mail system at the moment. However, I don't believe they could have contributed to any downtime for forum users.

I'm not sure if it's just me but I've "subscribed" to threads(I call it replying to posts or creating a new post but that's what it says on my User control panel) and they don't show up in my control panel? I guess this is still a problem?

thanks

Nick

Back when we had the old server, I had had problems with my subscribed threads not going to my inbox. I mean, none of them would ever go through. I talked to my ISP, I talked to Jordan, and no one could figure it out. Jordan said that everything in my profile was correct, so he couldn't see anything there that was causing it. So then I talked to my ISP, and they said everything was fine. So I just said, screw it, and went on with my life. Then suddenly, when we switched to this new server, my subscriptions started showing up in my inbox. So it turned out to be a problem with the server.

All in all, I have been very happy with this new server, except for a few hiccups. I hope these small problems we are having can be resolved without changing servers again.;)

That's great but it ain't really helping me... I'm not even gonna mess with my AOL... but yeah I'll just ignore it even though it gets a little irritating.

This often occurs because of the date selection you're looking at. Change "Show threads from" from whatever it currently is to something like "the beginning" to make sure you're looking at all the threads.

It coulda been a DoS attack. That happened today to another site I visit. They were down for about 2+ hours.

I don't know what happened, but I haven't seen the place load so fast in the last few weeks!

Ah such deadness - i only now got back onto the forum

it's been going slow as hell for the past few days too. Any ideas why?
