Doesn't look like I'll be joining you folks this morning in Geezer Racing. I turned on the PS3 this morning and the system boots, the wheel calibrates, but I get no signal to the TV. I know the sequence to log into GT6, and I can hear the cars running around the track, but can't see anything. Tried the video reset, but the PS3 just turns off after the second beep. I'll be there if I get the thing working.
Turned out to be a bad HDMI port. Lucky the TV is still in warranty.

The below is a copy and paste of a post by eclipse April 10, 2014 where he gives his transmission setup method. The only thing I find is the first gear setting often bogs the engine down from a standing start. First gear changes usually solve the problem.

The post:

There we go then ...

I almost always use this kind of gearbox, this gives you good acceleration and the car rotates slightly better when turning, it's the main reason why I was 2 km/h faster at the starting line than others in the MX5 seasonal TT.

In short words, it's simply the transmission trick but the final gear set always at the minimum value.

Procedure:

1.- Use the default gearbox settings and find what's the max speed at the final of the longest straight of the track.

2.- Tweak the top speed slider in order to match the top speed you found, this step is only to find a reference point for the 6th gear (or whatever longest gear has the car)

3.- Draw a vertical imaginary line from the point where the 6th gear line ends to the letters above, take note of that letter, this will be the reference point when later you'll adjust the final gear to the minimum value.

4.- Now begins the tedious trial-error step in order to find the origin of the final gear, set the final gear in the middle, let's say at 4000 for example, top speed minimum, 6th gear slider all to the right, final gear minimum.

Does the 6th gear match with the reference point you've found?

Yes -> then 1rst and 2nd gear slider all to the left, don't touch the 3rd, 5th and 6th gear all to the right, set the 4rth gear in order to make an imaginary diagonal line from 3rd to 6th gear.

No -> Try a higher or lower final gear value and reset the top speed (one click to the right and one click to the left) , repeat step #4 until the 6th gear matches the reference point you've found, remember that the slider of the 6th gear must be all to the right and the final gear must be all to the left when you finish.

Sorry geezers i am taking Saturday away this weekend {probably} if someone else wants to run a room carry on.

Hi Geez - I had sent an email to your Geezer account for my final time on Brands Hatch. The time listed was for a car that had too much power. I think it was an oil change or perhaps suspension tuning. I was not the first place holder. I think I was after Jota. I can resend the email when I get home tonight. I think it was 1:41.586 or something like that. PM

So Stewy, Would you be heading down to the Copper Box Arena to take in the GT Sport event? If so, we'll be expecting a full report! I suppose not, since that happens on Thursday and Friday.

My time on Brands was 1:41.528 so Stewy is 1, then Jota, then Veda (me) then Mots. Sorry for the confusion.

To prevent mistakes in future, is to keep rule ( even we're Geezers ) something wrong in rules You are out race period.
I want to point out that when we got new car and no changes possible best situation, but if changes are possible rule values must be given, always tt rules used as for tire rule.
There are lot of Geezers lost interest for GZR races and GT6 as well? But now we could also change GZR ? We could also do it with wishlist car ( everybody attending makes 2 wishes and Veda will pick car, but not the one used in Month's TT. Same car whole month, but we'll could start lower PP after every new week more PP ( could also give also less PP according Your position or other way to give more weight ? ) Or both only problem is to get times for everybody better than previous.
More brainstorming needed.

Morning geezers how about this for a car at the ring seasonal.

Week 1 Honda Weider used stock only, race hard tyres as per event. No adjustments at all no oil change no

tweaking brake balance. Gold can be got on stock setup.

Week 2 same car full suspension tune only. Your Tunes to be posted to help others

Week 3 Differential and power upgrade to 600 pp Your Tunes to be posted to help others

Week 4 as per seasonal open season on everything, Your Tunes to be posted to help others

I will have a room open today at 14.00 UK 09.00 EST to discuss the geezer events and probably

race a car or two.

New Geezer event this week is the Honda Weider HSV-10 '11 the one that comes in race colours.
Run in stock no oil change, no brake adjustments.
Enjoy it handles well and should get you gold.
I will post next weeks settings after i close the event at 6 am UK time on Thursday morning.
This is a departure from our normal events methods in that we will use the same car throughout the whole event.
On the second week we will be able to tune the transmission and it makes a big difference and oil changes will be allowed if you want to do them.
By week 4 we should all be in low 7 minute laps.
Have fun
Stewy

Hello Geezers. I will be taking over for Stewy on Saturday for anyone that would like to race. 1st race will be the 24 hour Nurburgring with the Chaparral 2J 630pp hard racing tires. Hope 2 see a few of you there. Will open room at usual 8:30am ET for practice and 9:00 race time.

I just saw this in the North American PS4 PS Store.

GT Sport is available for pre-order. 👍 Release date is November 15 2016. You will get $500,000 in-game credits, a dynamic theme, a 3 car pack (Peugeot 908 Hdi FAP, Ford Mustang Gr. B Rally Car & Toyota FT-1 Vision GT Gr. 3) & an exclusive bonus GT Avatar.

GTPlanet news mentions other pre-order deals, so check them out.

MOTS GZR Tsukuba First week - Use the Toyota Sports 800 '65 407PP stock weight 580kg with NO TURBO upgrades, but add all the other power parts to arrive at 97HP with oil change. Transmission - Get the adjustable one and set to 106 mph (third click) - no other adjustments. Tires are default sports soft. That's it!

Thanks for setting up the room and hosting - I don't think I could survive the weekend without a Geezer event.

Thank you and everyone else that showed up. Those first 2 races were a real challenge with the 2J and StingRay concept. It was also fun running Tsukuba with the S2000. Hope to see more people there this Saturday with (I hope) Stewy back at the helm, who did get back in time to run the last race with us, and win it.

Racing this weekend.

Peugeot Rallye 03 full tune

Race 1, comfort soft tyres, Motegi super speedway 20 laps pits as required. Tyres will be an issue here especially the right front.

Race 2, special stage route 7, 3 laps. no pit stops, speed will be the issue here but this little car is faster than you think. Race soft tyres.

Race 3, Cote D' Azur 10 laps, race soft tyres wear will be an issue as usual here.

Many thanks to greg for running the meeting last weekend and letting me win the last race.

Hi geezers
I will travel to Italy with my wife by car so I can´t participate in Mots TT during next 2 weeks, but I wait follow in the news in this forum. Good races!
Enjoy the trip, Italy was the most incredible place I ever visited. The whole country is a museum. Are you going to the north, south or visiting family?

I thought I would give this a try, so I purchased the Honda Weider HSV and ran some laps at the 'Ring. I was able to get my time down to 8:16.594:

The Honda Weider is a pretty nice car even in stock tune, but we will certainly be able to get more out of it once Stewyripper lets us put a tune on it!

I was running against my own ghost where I used a Toyota 7 '70 and had run a 8:15.xx lap

27180456645_5331744262_k.jpg

During the lap, I was constantly swapping first place with the Toyota 7, who would pull away from me on all the straights, but I would catch an pass him/myself;) going thru many of the more technical turns. Good fun! By the end of the lap though, the Toyota 7 was just too strong for me.:(

Good fun!
