GTP getting slower??

Just FYI, the server was down between 5:28 and 7:40 PM PST today.
 
Yes, Jordan has noted that the Server is getting new BIOS upgrades, so it may be a bit flaky throughout the day.

Bear with us as the upgrades progress.

Its been a while but it seems to be getting slower again. Real noticible when replying to threads.

I read a thread yesterday where Jordan said he was enabling "Who's Online" and said it can really bog the system. It is still enabled so that's probably it. It is a cool feature though.
 
Seems pretty snappy to me while replying to threads. Thread load times are up a bit, but not a big deal...
 
Looks like the log file snuck on me again, yesterday. It should be running fine for everyone now.
 
Is it me or has GTP got REALLY slow again?

Edit: It's sped up again now.
 
I just rebooted the server, we've had uptime of more than 78 days ( šŸ‘ ) so I just restarted it to clear things up. MySQL seems to really be taxing the system right now, for some reason.
 
The only time I notice a slow down is during peak times, but it's not much.
 
On Saturday and Sunday, GTPlanet was really slow, as if it acted like I have 56k (which I have high speed internet). Now, it's a lot faster, but this could be blamed on the amount of people on GTP. I think on Sunday 500 or so people were on here. Now, it's probably something like 200 (I haven't checked).

EDIT: There IS 370 people on here right now.

IĀ“m not sure itĀ“s because of that. On sunday night it was really slow here, while other websites were loading just fine. But at the time I asked to another GTP member through MSN if GTP was slow to him too and he said not. HeĀ“s from Europe, so I think it might depend where youĀ“re browsing from.

I noticed GTP seems to be getting slow lately. I thought it was my comp but I checked the site on 3 different computers now and I am pretty sure its the site. Sometimes the smileys dont all load or the "insert hyperlink" , "quote" icons dont appear.
Is this because the site is getting a lot of traffic lately or is there something else? I clear my cookies, files, and history every day. What could it be? If its normal then I will just ignore it. I have Cable at work and at home so I dont think its my connection at 3 different locations, 3 different computers.

201 posts and all you can do is state the obvious, if not correct?

I've had no problem with GTP speed, but sometimes I get GTPlanet refuses access but when I click again it accepts.
 
I've noticed the last few days that every once in a while it will randomly go really slow, then return to normal within a few minutes. Other sites load fine during the slow time.

Same, Hey jordan i was wondering if you could make an option in the mygtplanet section that allowed you to make permanent posting settings like font colour??
I don't want to bother making a new thread for this so hopefully you read this.
 
GTP has been going really slow for me today. Well...... Not quite slow, just unreliable.

If the page loads, it loads fine. Every two pages I look at, one fails. Either a time out or "the doccument contains no data".

I get the very same thing.
 
its doing my head in!!! when i open two pages at once they are both failing not just one, i thought it was just me, then i noticed this thread, somethings up anyway - im about to lose it! :lol:
 
I got a bunch of Apache error messages from yesterday. Everything appears to be running OK this morning, but is anyone else still have trouble?
