GTP is being slow again.

It could be - even though other sites may have loaded fine, there could have been an issue with the upstream provider at our data center which handles UK/European traffic.

I'm getting it today. The page appears as fast as it should, but then freezes (the loading only, since scroll is still possible), and takes a bit to restart loading. And it does it more than once per page.
More noticeable on pages with images (GT4 photomode where I usually hang).

I'm in Portugal, btw.

Things are being slow again, especially trying to open any threads from the main GT Forum index.
My 2wire bandwidth check is reading 1.17Mbps, so it's not a connection issue.
Too many crap posts in the Premium Convo forum clogging up the servers I think!!! :p

Hahaha, thats what i thought as well. The loading speed was better when I was a normal member, then when i became Premium it started to lag... But all is well now, at least i wasn't as bad as yesterday :p

I'm surprised that you guys have been having issues - was there any thread or page in particular that was giving you trouble? The server has not been having any problems that I am aware of, and the site is responding normally for me.

It's not too bad here either, takes about 6 seconds to load. Probably just an odd add.

Well Ive been trying for the past half an hour to get onto GTP, but I kept getting a "could not establish connection with sever error" the it eventually worked an allowed me on to the site, so I rushed over to the news on GT5p :D to make a quick post and then as soon as I come out of the thread and back to the main index and it gave me a nice Database error.

I'm hitting some pretty bad slow downs this morning, any trouble from the rest of you? I cleared my cookies and even reset my router.

i haven't had any problems what so ever since i joined and basically come on everyday..

Just in case the server hasn’t alerted you, Jordan, the site was down from about 6PM–11PM PST Wednesday. The “performing site maintenance” message was up during that time.

Yes, I was the one who took it down. One of the server's hard drives failed last night. Fortunately, the RAID 1 array paid for itself and kept the site running on just one disk. When the faulty drive was replaced, however, the RAID controller began to mirror the content on the older drive, which is obviously a fairly intensive process. I decided to leave the forums closed during this time to spare the disks from the additional read/write activity generated by the forums.

Well don't know if its me but GTP has been slow as of yesterday. Seems the page seems to load longer, especially some of the images. Takes almost forever to even load them.... (hell, it is forever!!!!) and refreshing the page did nothing. Oh and I'm using Firefox.

No problems on my end, though I am on I.E **dodges bottles**

IE7 I take it? How do you understand its stupidly odd layout?! I was an IE fan until M$ did that crazy visual change now its Firefox all the way for me...

Is it images from GTP that are taking a long time or are they hosted somewhere else, like imageshack?

FYI - I'm using FF and have no problems.

I don't like I.E, I had Firefox on my old PC and I loved it. Now I have my new PC Firefox cannot display a webpage so I have to use I.E.

Well..... its from another site I think. I just take a look at some of the threads, and like some of the images didn't load up properly (or at all) Like in the Funny Pic Thread, I can't see all of the image that you posted and FoolKiller's image isn't loading up properly (now I'm using Opera for GTP, still the problem persists!) and I can't see opendriver19a's image in the Desktop thread. :grumpy:

Yeah yeah, just blame my stupid internet for being so slow..... :indiff:

Well, going on forums like these will always take a lot of memory on one's computer...

Mine has always seemed slow on average (about 3 seconds), but I'm still here.

I have a slow connection and i'm a long way from the server, (FF tells me it's in the US) so it normally takes me about 10 sceonds. I have not had any problems since it was upgraded to GTP9.

Probably not so much your own connection, but that which many of the images are hosted on. Unfortunately, there's not much that I can do about that.

Seems to be working better now, although still not as fast as it normally is.
