GTP is being slow again.

Within the last couple of hours, GTP has been repeatedly logging me out, and just a couple minutes ago it slowed down.

Yeah, something is definitely going on. I couldn't access GTP at all in the last 10 minutes, and I got Database Errors a few hours earlier.

Yes, the server pooped out some very serious error messages today - they are being worked on.

I know this kinda thing happens and its not through any fault of yours but any idea why its been happening a little more frequently as of recent? It might just me me but when i first joined up i never really noticed or saw any errors or downtime. Something due to the larger amount of visitors and the site becoming larger?

Just curious :)

That's the million dollar question - although the site has grown by a tremendous amount in regards to content, our traffic is steady (which is what strains the site the most) during this time between GT releases. Aside from a few components, we are on the same server which handled the GT4 rush of 1000+ concurrent users online for a period of several weeks, so our current traffic should not be causing any problems unless I'm seriously underestimating the impact of our database size. However, the administrative support personnel I work with (thank you, Premium users! :)) agree that our current hardware should be adequate. So, to make a long story short, I really don't know but it sure is getting old. :grumpy:

I see, well thanks for the response. Hopefull the situation will sort itself out and be less problematic. 👍

How is the site responding for everyone now?

I was one of the "affected" ones by the Database error messages and the occasional slowness but the site is running up smooth and fast now :)

Just had the VB database error looks like we may be in for some downtime.

I had the vB error at 2:55. After that the Site Feedback section loaded agonizingly slow, and finally quit. I just now got back on since that.

Oh boy, its a slow as a retarted sloth covered in molasses with a frozen oboe up its bum...

Ok, now its fast, because I think someone lit the oboe on fire....:D Also, it seems that my Javascript is dead....

Nah, it was really bad. Couldn't load a page or the site. Its not as fast as it could be now, but hey, at least it works decently.

I haven't noticed any dramatic slowdown, but it does seem to load a bit slower than it used to. We'll see what's going on when Jordan gets to it, he probably has a lot of other work he's gotta do on the site. I just hope I don't get extreme slowness, my comp's slow enough...

Yes, to say we've got problems would be an understatement. It's being worked on, so the problem should be back in...oh, about 4 hours. :indiff:

Honestly Jordan, why does GTP have so many problems? Is it a seriously crap IT team? Or even crappier servers? Or what? I'd buy a GTPlanet hoodie to get this place fixed if you need the money.

... I haven't had any problems since the slew of them since the last upgrade, so dunno what you lot are talking about. Good luck, though, Jordan.

"AAWWWWWWW!" Not only the report of sexual gratification, it's also the sonance of internet frustration. I know, because I just made the sound. For one and a half reasons. But that's beside the point. My point is this: I got more "cannot find server" stuff, though it wasn't vB-official. Schlow. Seriously.

Okay, I posted a new thread (X360 General Chat Thread), yet it's not visible in the forum index.

Not good.

I have a gut feeling I'll be going to gtplanet.org next time I get on here.

Dude, you just stole the spotlight of my fantastisch post. You're such a duck.

I rebooted the server, so it was down a few minutes ago.

Oh. Well how about that. But still, I feel empty after not having fulfilled those few minutes of my life. I just sort of stared blankly at the screen, mouth open, drooling, and thinking "But....but...."
