I was looking up the F1 2010 race engineer voice guy and found this:
i was on germany with massa, in 1st alonso in 2nd and my engineer said 'fernando is the fastest guy on the track' i lolled so much i crashed into chandhok

Correct me if my results are wrong, on Jam's video it looked like Johny actually finished a quali race (and in 1st too).

I forgot to add Sylar / Kirk first time, have put him on the list now though.

Well, the car just isn't reacting properly to that big bump. It's not flexing with the road enough, and a bump like that wouldn't be rideable like how Heidfield is right now without causing damage or losing control. Nevertheless, a big step forward from its predecessor.

Thats why it looks unrealistic. Its not Heidfelfd. Its the Stig playing the game and he has a secret obsession with Heidfeld which is why he drives as him. The Stig can control any jump of any kind. Regardless of the car. He avoids damage too.

Just wondering, does anyone remember Top Gear Stunt Man from a few series ago and he was in two episodes then they forgot about him forever?

that photo was proably taken late in the corner....of you look closely the two right wheels are airborne on that bump....TRust me the bump reaction is real as eevr.......In F1 201 touching the Curbs was pretty chaotic

That depends on how your connection stacks up. It real life motorsport, there is the ever lasting possibilty of a car failure (Vettel at Korea). This is GT5 and we don't get that but what we do get is connection issues. You could be in 1-2 one moment then the next thing you know, neither of your cars are in the race and your rivals are 1-2 instead

Fair point. I did some fiddling with my connection before the start of the season in the hope of sone better reliability. And now I've only disconnected once in the last month, and that was with you in your tyre saving league at Top Gear. So the reason for no connection issues so far for me is either that or pure luck. I bet it's the latter. I still don't trust it.

Well, under normal curcumstances, the cars shouldn't be going that high in the air, I mean, they have hundreds of kilos of downforce pressing them into the road, that jump seems like just a tiny bit too high.

I love Codemasters game soundtracks. Just wondering what song is in this trailer? The end of the video says Tropicana by The Qemists but that song doesnt seem to exist. Can someone help me find this song somewhere so I can aquire it?

Would you believe it someone made a whole thread about the music in the trailer and no-one actually named the song. The only thing I learned is it apparently sounds like the intro music in TOCA race driver 3. It may just be a song CM have made for the video. They did that with DiRT 3 too :)

That is silly though. If you watch a CM trailer, watch the very last bit and it says the song name. Thing is, this song doesnt appear to exist if I search the song name. Is it a Qemists song that will be released specially with the game and so no current info? Who knows? CODIES DO!!!

Of course the song will be released later...

Besides, DiRT 3's soundtrack included 3 of the songs also in FIFA 11, which isn't too good research IMO. Half the globe play FIFA and are tired of those songs.

Anyone hosting some practice tomorrow which includes a lot of races for fun? Long time since I've raced now, I need to get in the zone again.

Just a quick last word. Forza 4 uses a song in its debut trailer which is the main theme song in BLUR. What a dreadful bit of reasearch. Could only think of Blur while watching it. And the very old Ford GT is the lead car. WTF. Outdated game or what.

Back to racing. I'm up for testing tomorrow
 
Looks like my internet connection at the place I am subletting for the summer isn't going to hold out too well for online racing. I have to regrettably withdraw for the remainder of this season.

I'll be happy to return to action with all y'alls fine folks in September, though. I'll be in touch :wave:

That sucks... but what can you expect in Canada :irked:

We'll be happy to see you too in September, unless all the Brits of course have already started worshipping their F1 2011 game at that point.

I'll be practicing all days hopefully, but I need someone to host cuz no one can join my rooms... and the less track changes the better, they are the biggest threat to my stalls (stop, freeze, whatever you wanna call it).

To give you all some info about how good I am (mwuhahah): 1:26.363 best time today, tyres last 6 laps... OMFG, how great is that, lol... I'm doomed.

The MINOLTA sucks, as I said, I'm driving it to the junk yard right after La Sarthe. Seriously, the update ruined it completely for me. It's not the same car anymore. I chose it for its slow tyre wear, now it's gotten bad AND slower, why oh why...

I presume you mean 3.26.3 which is, I think, a very respectable time. I expect the leaders to be doing 3.22-3.24. My best (after 2 laps trying to get fast laps) was a 3.27. Then I gave up to talk to MU and Jamm and go on GTP

Did a 3:21 today, but it was in the Nissan R92CP, on a lower downforce setup, as opposed to the 3:22 in the Minolta, which was on full downforce. And those were on my first runs. With more practice and a better tune, I could probably be in touch with Johnny and his 3:20's before Saturday.

Same for me too, though i'm coping with it a bit better than you are. I've already proposed it to akmuq to use a new car for Season 4, right now i'm stuck between the GT-One, a long favourite of mine, the Sauber, a fast but undriveable car, and maybe the 905.

Did about 6 laps last night in 787 and best time was only a 3.27.3. I can see where to take another two seconds off lap for my lap for a low 3.25 or high 3.24 but cant see myself going much quicker than that. Really doubt I can get anywhere close to those 3:20s!:scared:

Will try to find some time tonight to do some more running.
