Is a Michelin Green X challengee possible? Second championship that could slightly change series competitiveness

We use the same cars every round = the same people would win every round.

And I don't want to make another results sheet after every race, one is plenty.

I could make a results sheet for the green X. Also, nobody seems to care that Peugeot win the IRL Green X each race

Great pics bombe!

I have to say that was my best race yet (besides my errors). I went off 3 times iirc, going to the back of the field 2 times and after getting in a rhythm was able to get up to 4th, pulling the fastest lap in the process.

Can't wait for Monza! Championship is heating up.....

I've made a shocking discovery. I've basically thought of maybe using my wheel this race at Monza because it's basically only got a few corners and mostly straights. I found myself lapping 0.2 faster than with pad. But then I went to Suzuka to try it out and found myself immediately in the 1:43's!! Now I'm very inconsistent with a wheel but if I'm going that much faster with it, I'm gonna be practising 24/7 to be using it for the rest of the season :)

As soon as you overtook me I couldn't keep up. You were just gone. But Suzuka is a frightening (spelling here??) track, just a little loss of concentration and you lose 10 seconds. A race without mistakes and I could (in theory) had won the race, because even the leaders mad mistakes (as seen in the pics). Mistakes was the difference in that race.

Jam: I thought you were already using a wheel... don't change, please, give me a chance to beat you, lol. I need to cure my Indy Road disease...

Wow I never thought I'd ever hear those words from you bombe towards me. Last season you had sooo much pace over me it was untrue. Seems the tables have turned :sly:

Stupid hot weather. Means I can't go on my PS3 for more than 20 minutes without it overheating. I'll have to wait until it's cooler at night. :(

There's a difference. I was using the Audi last season :) We were only two guys that won races, me and AyrtonSchu..

Now I use the slower and (it seems) also more punishing car compared to you ;)

EDIT: In order to try and make my GT5 work online I'm going to play with some portforwarding this week (hopefully tomorrow). Wish me luck!

I'm glad you like them :)

Monza up next. If I make a driving mistake there I'm going to shoot myself. Probably the easiest track on the calendar.

And after watching the replay I noticed that the GT-ONEs had a very slow tyre wear, even slower than my tyre wear :nervous: I'd better tweak the MINOLTA to a 1-stopper and get back my bragging right!

The Minolta isn't a very soft car on tyres. Trust me, I know. When I did the PS Race at Daytona and tried to gamble on 1 stop, it turned out horrible for me. I was up to around 2nd or 3rd, but was lapping slowly at that point, doing 1:33's, and I fell like a rock. Then I killed the tyres for good with a spin, and limped to the pits on rims

Another thing, would you like to team up with me? I've got no teammate at the moment, so I guess I can join you. I've got no tuning skill, so I hope you can help me get optimal setups for each track, and for us to bring home some results. ;)

Wow, the 787 feels like complete garbage at Monza.. Like I have in hard tires our something.... Have lots if work to do before saturday.

Not sure if this is even close to a good time, but 1:33s.. I assume not based on how it feels

I'm having trouble deciding on whether to use a high downforce setup or dial downforce back. I like to be faster in the corners, but I don't think i'll lose much straightline speed at Monza running full downforce. Anyone else thinking of going full downforce?

I've only done a few laps at Monza where I'm getting mostly 1:32's, sometimes dipping in to the high 1:31's :)

Jake and I are teammates, but even if we were 3 MINOLTAs that teamed up we wouldn't win the team championship, lol. I don't really care all that much for the team championship, all I want is ONE win this season, and I've got two tries left.

My main aim coming in to this season was getting a podium. Needless to say I've succeded (twice:sly:)

But hey why stop at that. With a great car and setup to match I've now got a shot at winning the season. I have the car to do it. Unfortunatly I don't have the connection to match and with the time at 1:00 I may not make a lot of races :( Still, one can only hope :)

Tut tut. No one cares about the team, only the individual driver. I usually look at the team rankings, then take the drivers as a second. I mean in real life, the team championship is the one with the money attached.

Out of interest, if at Le Mans, you and Blaze were running one two with Blaze leading and you second, but you needed to win to take the drivers title, would you do a car swap 'for the team'?

But I (personally) can't care that much about the team championship because Jake and I are so far behind. Why even look at the team standings... :(

BUT: MINOLTA 1-2 at La Sarthe. Optimism ftw...

actually, you may be far behind, but look at your nearest rival. A one point difference. This is going to get interesting

Well, I guess i'll have to keep looking for a teammate then.

As for my ambitions, i've only gotten 1 podium in my online racing career, and that podium was my last ever real championship race until joining this. I want to challenge for the title, but i've missed 3 races so far, so even if I managed to win the final 3, i'd have little chance of that. Anyway, my aim is for a first win, and to take as many poles as possible. Optimism FTW

I would like to make trailers for GT5 from replay footage. Can someone advise me on what I need. I have an old iMac running on OSX Leopard
You need a capture card to transfer the video feed from your PS3 to computer.

Since you have an iMac, I think an internal card is out of the question, so do some google research on "USB Capture Card". They're a bit pricey, unfortunately. Make sure the cards you are looking at are able to process the video quality you are using for your PS3 (HDMI, standard definition, etc.)

All this running a league isn't as hard as BK makes out (sorry BK :p). I have a full field of 12 cars turning up every week of the reliable, same people for my F1 league and the racing is great! I have the same 12 people plus 4 others and MU, golfer and Johny bustling to get in (what will be) my F1 2011 league. That adds up to 19 people so I may have to dissapoint a few but the excitement for it is great from current league members and everyone overall trying to get a slot on the 2011 roster. So things are going well :)

what are you on about? Running a league is unbelievably hard. Especially when two people in your league sell or trade the car they are going to drive inbetween the first and second races which then causes a massive amount of car changing each week. I mean honestly. Then you get 6 people turn up a week, one gets pissed off that in one race we all use X2010s and leaves the series meaning we now have 5 freqeunt turn ups. Not great at all. And I would really like to be running a rallycross league or try something similar to the 'Top Gear Historic People Carrier Racing'. That would be very fun.

Just a query, what is the most amount of laps that can be in DiRT3 rallycross online?

Hi guys,

Did any of you notice why the GT5 online racing forum was shut down? All I know is that it has all been moved to the online events forum.

Perhaps to organize things better.

I have a question though regarding the chichanes at Monza. GT5 unfortunately does not govern the chichanes, which is unfortunate as they are so easy to cut, how will we go about this? Trust each other to be fair? Or just allow cutting of them? I'd rather choose the former.

Of course we are not cutting them. Remember, there are several of us (I think) that will watch the replay after the race, and if you cut them constantly you will get penalized :)
