Look at the ugly peugeot lol.

That makes it all the more trickier for mu and Jamman.....2 of you...Against 10 guys who have nothing to lose...And all desperately want to claim there first win in the last race of the championship..this should get interesting.

I would also like to add that Blaze can win the championship too if both of you (very unlikely) do not finish the race :) And tissimo can if he decides not to go to the wedding after all and instead want eternal glory and fame, lol :D

Unless Jamman and Mu both get "accidentally disconnected" :trouble:. and Tissimo is "accidentally" trapped inside a wedding cake :trouble:

But then again, Blaze would also need to win, which is too very unlikely, lol :D I'll win at La Sarthe again, just look at my lap times ;)

Consistency is my middle name, problem is though that I've been consitently bad at Monza and Suzuka :)

Got a chance to try the Mazda online tonight and had to tweak the offline setup I created for online to dial out some of the over-steer so car was a little slower with a best lap of 3:21.4. Average lap seemed to be 3:22-3:23. It seems more stable on corner exit though so hopefully should help me be more consistent especially when tires start to wear down. What sort of wear rate is everyone else experiencing I seem to be getting 5-6 laps so if 19 lap race including a pace lap maybe 2 stopping on lap 7 and 13 might be possible. Have a feeling though that 3 stopping will be quicker with fresher tires. Although if it starts to rain and we have to switch to wets then strategy could be a lottery.

Also I really have to do some practice on a wet track and at night tomorrow as still don't know the track well enough and I am losing way too much time compared to daytime laps. What time progression settings will we be using for the race on Saturday to get a full 24hour cycle into the 19 laps.

Any sort of time change is advantage to the premium LMP users...I tried racing in the dark with the toyota GT-one..........at one point i had absolutely noo idea where i was on the track...Found out i was on the Mulsanne(though I didnt know which side the chicane was on until the last second lol...that what i get for taking my eyes away from the screen...

I adjusted the screen brightness to help in the dark but then when it goes to day time its just blinding....

guys, I think it would help if you post the time of your run as well. I dont know how well GT5 simulates air temperature but IRL The track is hottest at around 2pm-3pm but the hight temps mean the engine are less efficeint so it is not until he temperature cools that you get the engine running at its best but the track also cools providing less grip. The time when the track/car temperature system IRL is most balanced and fastest is inbetween 21:00 and 23:00 so that is where the fastest laps will be produced in theory

I just got my clubsport pedals to replace my crap 95% max throttle and 90% max brake pedals.. Maybe can knock a tenth or two off some tracks now :) too bad will be gone.. think JetBlue will mind if I take my stand and wheel to boston with me? lol

That makes me wish I still did Technical Drawing even more :( I could design myself a cockpit if I kept it going, but the teacher was totally insane and a massive idiot.

its not the sketch , its the plan. you have to know what you want to do b4 you can do it

I know you guys have pictures!!!! Post them in the Group

Didn't save the replay last time around. If only I was running for the title this season. Maybe next time round, in the better car, the GT-One :)

You have been racing 95% & 90% !!!!!!!! Your gonna be faster when you come back!

No it isn't. The engine is hardly going to be that much less efficient in hot conditions than night. I'm sure grip levels matter more. I know I go faster in the day.

Here what i have after 57.34$ and a few hours worth of work,,, tried it out today, i have to move the pedals , and move the wheel forward more. Will sand it down and paint it tomorrow. should be finished for saturday. (fingers crossed)
i used it for a few laps tonight an was able to do consistent low 3:22.x within 2 tenths of each other a lap

** on another note i still have some replay left to review from last race... but no one has posted in the group or sent me a pm about any incident

In real life, the engine runs much more efficiently when cooler. Why else do cars use radiators to cool the engine down? I watch all of Le Mans including the qualifiying and the fastest times are produced inbetween 21:00 and 23:00. In real life, that is where the cars have lots of power (more power later but the track is cooler) and earlier the track is hotter but the engines dont run as smoothly. And the reason all motorsport isn't then just run at night is because it would because it would be inconvinient for spectators, and drivers, and teams, and everyone. Singapore GP is run at night, partly due to the fact that it makes it fit in with eurpean schedules and partly because the day time heat and humdity would cause too much stress on the cars engine. Trust me on this one. Just don't trust how well PD have simulated the air temperatures effect on the track temperature and the engine efficency.

Peugeot 908 : 3 19 1
Audi R10 : 3 21 0

Switching cars mid season isn't allowed. And why would you want to use the R10?

Wish me luck today guys, i've got a hell of a race to do today. 800km's sitting down racing for the win.

Has anyone done any wet laps? I mean I'm not expecting it to rain because even if it does start raining during the race it won't become heavy rain () but I thought I should be on the safe side. I did a 4:04.579 with a lot of excursions. I power oversteered most of the lap :D

I think i'll run traction control on Saturday just in case of rain. I'm hopeless without it in rain.

Jamman, your photos are very good but your geography isn't. La Sarthe is in Le Mans, not the other way round. And I thinky ou cursed yourself abit since you used a picture of the race start in 2009, where Peugeot got 1-2

Le Mans is in Sarthe.....

Edit: he said La Sarthe(i.e Circuit de La Sarthe)
Home of Le Mans, the race

Exactly. That's what I meant. La Sarthe, home of the Le Mans race.

And I am great at Geography. Got an A in my exam :p

ok, so I'm rubbish at French geography. But you can't deny the photos you chose

I just went for a photo that looked good. I don't believe in riddles or curses or whatever.

EDIT: My first picture is in the OP. Woo :D

commentators do and both me and you have had a chance to do that this season. I thought we were both very good at errr yeah we were useless. And you had the oppurtunity to commentate twice in the tyre challenge. Fun times which, gladly, are nearly over. I should start making my rallycross thread this weekend. This race will be fascinating. Its very tempting to spectate so that I get to see the action at all times but there is the chance that it won't be a close race in which case I would rather race so I will race.

EDIT: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=213995 the rallycross thread is up an looking good. Please check it out and see if you are ready to take on the dirt. (There will be tarmac and snow as well)

Just to clarify ill be posting some pictures from track to show where you are not allowed to be. Anyone cutting corners on purpose tomorrow will be getting time penalties.
You have been warned...............
