Best time to race saturdays (qualifying still starts 30 mins before)

15kg max with Audi. Did a quick test, managed with the ballast a 1:58.6 (this test was with 650 bhp) with a tune. Jumped into a stock Bentley with 60kg, achieved a 1:58.9. Hmm, looks like the Speed 8 will be way faster with a tune regardless of mistakes etc.

Your car has dominated every test race we've done COMPREHENSIVELY. No Bentley has been CLOSE.

I jumped in the Audi and went from being 10 seconds down after 2 laps to being .2 seconds back after 2 laps. The car is vastly overpowered right now.

Your attitude sucks TBH, and here's why: you are thinking only of yourself, and not about the competition level of the league. I decided against the Audi specifically because it was too fast. But now you and Jamman, arguably the two fastest drivers, are driving it, so it has to be regulated.

All your lap times are meaningless. In race, the Audi has been crushing everything, and you obviously realize that. To further prove my point, you crashed 3 laps in a row in the Bentley before even setting a time. You've put a wheel wrong in the Audi once the last 2 days.

Honestly 30 kg was borderline not enough, but I'd live with it, as I'm sure I'll be getting beaten by it every race anyway.
 
I have to agree with Jake 15kg is nothing 30kg makes the car a tiny bit harder to drive round corners plus a little bit more tyre wear...

the Audi r8 is too good compared to the other cars and I would say just ban it all together saves arguments...

I'm in another lmp series which we race with hard tyres and heavy damage so its super competitive which respectful driving, which I didn't see by anyone during these little races, I hope it not like this during the actual season . Anyway my point is the other series I'm in they have done hours and hours of tests with these cars I might get the settings over so we can try the cars here

That second sparagrpah is wow, so OTT and plain lieing it hurts my eyes and now makes me not take you very seriously.

My attitude is fine, I even would prefer to drive the Speed 8 but I don't want people calling me liars thinking I haven't put on 60kg.

I haven't done a race long enough to see what the tyre wear is like on either car. And I crashed 3 laps in a row? 1st time I disconnected, 2nd time was on a out lap (seriously!!) and the 3rd time was an honest mistake. Of course I didn't make many mistakes in the Audi as I'm used to it and its a hell of a lot more stable then a stock Bentley. Your also saying that now because me and Jamman are driving it, it must be regulated because now we've made it to fast? That is incredibly stupid and punishes our skill.

Anything higher then 15kg then the Speed 8 is faster. 3 tenths difference between a tuned Audi and stock Speed 8 is miniscule, in fact setups can make you a second faster so how is that fair? Mistakes are preventable and you can improve tyre wear pretty simply by changing a few things in the setup. I'd be fine with 15kg but anything more and your getting a big advantage. Of course, I personally think that if the Audi is ballasted more, the GT-One and the Speed 8 need more ballasting too so then the competition is more equal so that's probably the best way going about it.
 
I still want the Audi next year Tomm so you could always have the bentley seen as I called the AUDI very early in the season.... BACKSTABBER :sly:
 
right I've done some digging up. Don't get me wrong I don't want to change the gnomes series but just give out ideas...

the other series I race in we use pp as a limit.

GT One - 688pp
Audi R8 - 692pp
All other cars - 700pp

these guys have done quite a few tests and worked out that these are the most even way. We have yet to complete a series yet so its still working in progress but I must admit everything seems quite even

Nah I said I wanted the R8 early. Then golfer said try out the 905. I did, and it's miles off the pace so went back to the R8 :p

I remember testing both Speed 8 and Audi at stock around Indy Road Course. The result? Speed 8 2 tenths faster and this was with 601hp so they're basically the same, even around an average track.
 
I think it should be 7 races. Also, for a preseason race/messing round thing, anyone messed with Tsukuba?

(Yes I know it sounds horrendous) But it would do well to work on passing skills and stuff maybe? Just for fun

Fuji and Monza both suck. Fuji as the corners are terrible and awkward to drive through, especially the last sector and Monza is to conversational. Indy Road Course is fine I think.

And 18th October 2011? Jeez, I called it way back when I tried the Audi after the Nurburgring race :sly: Lol. Maybe a 4 driver team special. :dopey:
 
Tsukuba is good for slower cars but in these, the track is too awkward with this size and speed.


Jamman, Tom, we are not ballasting the Audi because you are skilled. We are ballasting the Audi because with your skill, the car itself is too competitive. The car itself is faster than the others but when it has drivers that do not complement the cars ability, there is no reason to ballast as you just push people from the mid field to the back. With a car that should be at the front and has drivers putting it at the front by miles, something needs to be done. Season 2 allowing the Audi R8 '01 was a mistake. This season and every other season, we are not letting that happen again.
 
right in yours and my last 100 posts I am the first to mention that I would like the Audi... and pretty much at the start of this season I said I want the audi next season :p
 
I dunno what your trying to prove anyway Adam. I highly doubt we will get car preference on who said they wanted it first ;)

How much power is that? Sounds interesting though.

And not to offend anyone, but I think the only reason we drive with light damage is because of 1st turn accidents and potential ragequits, lol.
It is better during the season, except for Adam (amf), lol :D

I don't get this discussion about the Audi. Jamman and Tom could easily go for another car without complaining because they're faster than most of us?!

What a mess it was today. The Audies screwed everyone - seriously... saying "max 15kg" ... based on what? You win with ~50 seconds to nearest non-Audi... come on...
But I don't want to join the fight, I don't care, I drive the 787B. Hopefully Razor will be in S5, haven't seen him for a week or though?

EDIT: Bombe, that was with unlimited BHP so that most likely gave the Audi's more of an advantage (as it still was very solid at max bhp compared to most others being more unstable + it was with no ballast. 15kg of ballast has made me around half a second slower.

Oh. :D

So basically what I think needs doing is that the Audi R8 andthe Gt-One + Speed 8 to bring those cars closer to the other cars. Of course, the Speed 8 wouldn't be ballasted as much as the other 2 but if the Audi is ballasted, the others also need nerfing.
