People keep saying they want time changes, PJ wants later times, golfer & jamm want earlier.
I don't care , if the majority want a new time that doesn't work for me I just won't be there & someone else will have to host

I am asking for a start time that is two hours earlier just tomorrow so that I can race at Le Mans. That is all.

When did I ever say that? I liked the old time from season 2 perfectly (an hour - hour and a half later than the time we have now). However I don't want to compromise anyone for it.

EDIT: OMG just noticed.
1000th post!!

I dedicate it to what I just said (obviously) and to this series as this is where I basically got about 800 of the 1000 posts I have. Well done everyone and thanks for all the discussions that have led to this :D

Starting later would mean that i didn't have to rush dinner, but if it doesn't suit you, BK, then don't change it. I normally eat at 1900 (7pm) and currently the race starts at 1900 DK time - nothing serious, but it could be a help to make my meal better tasting :p

I'm still keeping all of my options open. But 905 is looking likely.

I don't think it is a car capable of winning the championship but I won't win the title again so it makes it irrelavent. I still think I have the speed as I have proven in the races I had raced in this season but not the consistency with the race times, poor connection etc.

Jamman, I passed 1,000 ages ago. I'm 500 ahead of you. Joined about a fortnight after you as well.

Can people remember what I asked about starting early just this once? I wouldn't mind starting late (like an hour later) in future but this once, can we start early?

Also I almost forgot, the winning team gets a 1 million dollar prize. Looks like Jake & fresh are gonna take it

What about my compensation for Nurb...

JUST KIDDING LOL i bet i sound like a broken record.

I was thinking, maybe we could have one race start with about 40-50% surface water so that we get lots of spray kick up at the start and it would make for some interesting strategies since 40-50% is the time when you change to inters so people could gamble on starting on slicks in hope that the track will dry and they won't need to pit. Just a thought but it would eb nice to have that at least once.

Could do that for Spa!

Anyone test the cars yet? Tell me I'm not the only one who notices a difference! The grip is about the same, but tc doesn't interfere as much. Slow turns especially. Like the chicanes on the straight. Keeping on the throttle is the best way not to spin your tires. If you brake later you'll pay with a squirrely exit.

It did say that physics have changed in the update. Also, I think I read that online and offline physics should now be the same?! Is this true?

Traction control is more effective now, I ran a couple of laps with the GT-ONE, a car which normally can be hard to control even with TC2, but at TC1 it didn't come too close to the beast it usually hid inside of itself. But man, it's extremely fast and soooo easy to drive... (1 sec faster than my 787B)

NO NO NO!!!!!!

Do it for Suzuka or a pre-season. Actually, do it at Monza in pre season. No body wants the race to be fixed so do it at the pre-season when it doesn't matter.

The changeable weather will always change from one condition to another; it doesn't seem random at all.

We should just randomly select the conditions for the weather-enabled tracks and start with that, with changeability to Golfer's preferences from testing.

I think that we should open all lobbies with 0% weather and 0% surface water based on the fact that we always used to open the track set to dry, not wet and that in motor racing, dry is the prefered conditions and they are what is planned for, rain is always a possibilty. For this reason, we should always open at 0% 0% and changeability 5 (I think that you should run 3 tomorrow and I will continue testing)

Also, check out the main page. The video was recorded on camera phone. Check out the linked thread. It is awesome

But we know that weather will always go from dry to wet. So you're setting up every weather race to go from dry to overcast to a little bit of rain at the end, perhaps.

Same experience every race = boring.

EDIT: I would seriously support me getting on UStream live 15 minutes before race time and rolling a 6-sided die to determine the starting weather. It's better than the complete lack of random weather post Spec 2.0 patch.

And this is why I think that full dry racing would be better. The thing that makes weather racing exciting is the strategy. If we know the conditions, then their is no strategy. End result is that it is a boring race where alot of people spin out. With a full dry race, you get different pit strategies regardless (we always getr 1 or 2 stop race strategies adding to the excitement) and you get wheel to wheel racing, unlike in wet racing where you can't even go behind someone without the spray ruining your vision and if you move offline, you spin and crash into a wall so you only overtake when the other person spins. In short, not very exciting racing.

I understand where you are coming from when you say that wet weather racing is part of racing and it is. It is just that GT5s weather system is dreadful. We try to implement weather racing as it is in real life where it is random. However that cannot be done in GT5 meaning we end up with a load of wet races where they are boring races. There is a good reason why the majority of GTP race series don't use the weather change. It doesn't work and it makes the racing worse. Alot worse.

Which is why I suggest we randomize the initial weather % in the lobby for tracks that have weather enabled. Random weather at start = different conditions every weather-enabled track.

I could write a PHP script in 20 minutes that BK can go to a webpage, click a button, and receive a randomized initial lobby setup for the weather settings for weather-enabled tracks.

Subjective opinion.
It doesn't work and it makes the racing worse. Alot worse.
Subjective opinion, because you don't enjoy wet weather racing to the point where you say you won't even show up for it.
unlike in wet racing where you can't even go behind someone without the spray ruining your vision and if you move offline, you spin and crash into a wall so you only overtake when the other person spins. In short, not very exciting racing.
Again, subjective opinion because you are frustrated with wet weather racing. Many drivers enjoy the challenge.

5 changability seems to be the most 'random' one as sometimes it starts to rain and sometimes not. I just wish we could have a wet to dry race for once. :(

If we have a random method to select the initial weather we could get an outcome to start with 100% wet weather that would turn to dry over the course of that race.
