First we need to figure out what 5 cars we would choose. I'm thinking Speed 8, GT-ONE, R8, 908, 787B. Can't think of other close cars, maybe C9?

C9 is killer in the corners, but is very hard to drive, and the top speed is very poor.

BMW...

So far we have 6-7 cars in the pot. An idea could be to throw away one of the fast ones (GT-ONE, Audi, Bentley) to stop 1/3 of the b*****ng :D

BMW: BK, tiss, possibly Jake?
Audi: Tom, Jam, Adam
787B: Bombe, Razor?
908: Page?, MU
Speed 8: Golfer?
GT-ONE: Seth?

Idk what cars people want, but I think I'm close to what people have been writing :)

After I tried my beloved MINOLTA again yesterday, I can only recommended it. It's great, but it has a weakness in slow corners (as always), which is why it's never going to be faster than the others.

Oh, and this:

Pesky: Mav
;)

GT-One: Peter.

How could you forget me? I used it for all of last season

Its very sad we wont be racing with JAM :(

More chance of a podium though :D

I really need this car next season... please can it be reserved????

i like tokyo its great o ver 1 lap and i'm quick their...

And the audi is a beast. I 100% need it next season

I agree with bombe that the R8 '05 should be scrapped because of all the arguing about it. The drivers can go elsewhere.

As for deciding who drives what when there are more drivers for a car than slots, well I say base it first on wether they were in that car last season. Then how many seasons they have been in that car, then how they perfromed in recent seasons, how long they have wanted to get in that car. Keeps a good rotation (say 2 consecutive seasons in a car?) of drivers in each car and means that we all get a chance to drive what we want in time.

Balance the cars without consideration as to who will be driving each one (thinking of who may be driving a car during the season while balancing it is inherently unfair and not balancing it at all).

Then, every series participant lists the cars he has in his garage.

The cars are then assigned randomly to each driver.

That's fair, if you want fair. But from the sound of it, most people clamouring for "fair" are just looking to further contrive the car selection process for no reason.

Since when did he say he wants to get rid of it... anyway that would be like banning the RBR as its to fast. a.k.a Communism HEHEHE

But it really isn't ridiculously fast and with bombes new list as it is their is no arguing as BK wants the BMW anyway (if that list is correct?) leaving me tom and JAm with the audi

I'm still saying un-official, so don't trust me. It's just what I can remember, I'm no genius or anything :p

Mike: There's a possibility that people can lie about which cars they have.
--

We are trying to get it equal, but I think the main reason is the setups. If people would share the setups they are using then it would be easier to balance the cars. It'll never be 100% though, but that's okay. If we wanted it 100% it was one-make races :)

My R8 sucks, perhaps I should try BK's setup - I've heard it should be quite awesome 💡
--

Oh, and Adam, stop the F1 comparison-thing, it's so far off from this series.

Me and Jamman both use BK's setup. :D

I think we should test all the cars in stock form so that way you have the basis on how fast each car is and add ballast that way.

Yes but some cars can be more improved with setups than others aqua as far as i know

One top series driver.

Let him set laptimes on two or three varying tracks with the cars in default setup.

Balance based on those values.

I don't even know why you guys are trying to balance cars based on test race conditions...that's like trying to balance a scale while your friend is banging on the table with his fist.

You guys are really over complicating this s**t.

Seriously we need jake and bombe in a closed testing session with BK and the stewards. Evaluate the cars based on those two hotlapping for an hour or two, then balance.

Not that hard.

Maybe so but then its the fairest way as some people's setup could be better then others.

I'm flattered, lol :D

Anyway, going to get BK's setup now, I'll try these MF'ers @ 650bhp and 700bhp.

I'll probably do testing tomorrow at Nuburgring I think. Got slow corners, medium corners and high speed corners + a few good straights.

Maybe your over complicating things mike :p
When you are trying to test anything, you need to limit all variables.

Car setup is a variable. It should be stock.
Driver skill is a variable. It should be one or two good drivers.
Testing cars in a mini-race is hundreds of variables. It should be done via hotlapping.

What is overcomplicated about two good drivers driving hotlaps with stock setups to determine the differences in performance, exactly?

We could organize a testing session, get as many people as possible to do hotlaps in each of the quicker cars and we can see which are considerably faster (for everybody) to balance effectively. (lots of qualifying sessions)

exactly drum.. get as many people as possible and try and see some average or see how wide the spread is between drivers

We have shared setups for all of these cars. They could be used instead of stock too, as that's closer to its maximum potential, which is clower to the in-race performance.

what so pick a certain set up for each car and get people driving round in them

e.g BK's Audi
Bombe's: GT-one (seen as jam won't share his) and
Jakes: bentley
Tissimos: 787b
and Jams GT-one set up for the 905
*hint JAM I want your setup in public lol )

We also need to think which track is the best track for testing. So it has everything. Only track I can think of is Nurburgring as previously said. I don't think Suzuka would be good as its harder to get a perfect or near perfect lap in.
