Was there ever a thread somewhere where people can post just created GTP lobby numbers? I think that would be really useful.

That's what the chat feature was originally intended for.

If you're looking for free run lobbies, this is the place to ask.

Thank you for providing the answer to the OP...

Before the discussion transcended into (unjustified) Fam-bashing.

Anyways...I'll be sure to utilize that link tomorrow.

I've tried it a couple times but there's not that many people in there usually.

Like everything, it's been ignored and abused.

Kinda like my cat, which apparently I have. At least, I think it's a cat.

Since I cater to as many people as possible, I advertise my room details in the appropriate threads. Occasionally the random GTP tag shows up, and is usually loved by the other racers. Yeah, I get problem children from time to time, but hosting allows me to kick with extreme prejudice.

I don't generally put up with racism, or most -isms, because I'm there to race. The only time it's acceptable is when the target is the offender. Bash the KKK all you want, but leave the personal attacks, religious and political views at home.

You'll only get hurt, and the PSN is never the time or place.

I think it was a copy cat of Famines on PSN, why would the OP lie? He most likely wasn't lying how ever he was just wrong about the actual person. If you know where I'm coming from.

^ This is probably what happened in this case, sorry if indeed the accusation are false in respect to the GTP member. Generally from what I've noticed is that forums and forum members do seem to attract a lot of troll-hating (let's not offend actual haters) though no fault of their own, I've been impersonated on various occasions on social networks and messenger services so I'll give Famine the benefit of the doubt.

There are some hard feelings out there, I've heard more than one "all those people from GTP are 🤬 . I just insta-kick anybody with a GTP tag" type comment when wandering through public lobbies.

^ I don't understand why people would hate a website so much.

In my experience, some of the guys with GTP PSN IDs are complete nonces, they'll cheat and then blame the non-members, and some of them usually resort to racism, one of them is somehow a mod on here 👎

Don't judge a book by looking at its cover. 'GTP_USERNAME' doesn't always mean 'hey, I'm a great driver and I have awesome sportsmanship!'

No idea, I've never asked. I usually just keep my mouth shut and race, and try to stay out of everyone's way until I figure out who I can race with on pace as well as who I can expect to do stupid things to anyone near them. It's not like I've heard such talk constantly, but I have come across a few who feel that way for whatever reason, probably the same could be said for any recognizable gamertag like that.

But like you said, forums tend to bring out emotion in some people, and of course some people just like to antagonize any group. Then there are the occasional fake-GTP-trolls that are out there and whatever they might affect about how people think. And of course not everyone who is a member of GTP is a squeaky-clean and respectful driver. And not everyone who is a clean and respectful driver is a nice person when exposed to those with a different point of view.

...And not everyone has the same definitions of what "clean racing" is and where it should apply. And not everyone accepts that sometimes a game is just a game. And not everyone is willing to put up with non-directly-race-related chat. And not everyone who is fast is polite to those who aren't, whatever their affiliations with any group might be....
