GTP Running Slower Than Usual?

It's been in and out for the last couple hours. I just had it slow again, but now it seems fine. I know it's not my internet because when I go to other sites they work fine.

That's how it's been for me. Only here but this happened when Jordan said everything was ok.

It looks like you weren't the only one who experienced that, according to GTP's Facebook page. The content delivery servers were apparently having some problems; I'll make sure the hosting company is aware of the issue.

GTP site started to be slow as hell for me around 3 days ago.
The problem is in gtpla.net server. Browser always tells in status line: connecting to cache.gtpla.net... And it never ends. I have to find some way to interrupt connection to gtpla.net to open any page on this site. It's so inconvenient to browse this site....
Very pity :(

Sorry you're having trouble, Sorg. Could you post your traceroute results to cache.gtpla.net, as described here?

mine seems to be fine now. Every now and again a few pictures don't load but it is better now. It works smoothest on my windows phone, I never have trouble then. And it doesn't even need an app its just the website. :)

Jordan,

Here is my traceroute. It doesn't show problem... But everything from cache.gtpla.net doesn't load. Pictures loaded long time ago (like board graphics) are ok because loaded from cache, but new pictures from news and avatars are absent.

ellisnutt,
if all pictures are in browser cache then they will load instantly. That's why it looks like problem disappeared. If you will clean browser cache then problem will come back.

Houston, we have a problem...

Oh dear...

It's fine now though.

Experiencing the same thing atm.

I've just refreshed the cached files on the CDN servers at the request of the hosting company's engineers. Hopefully this will rectify the issue. Please let me know if any of you continue to see the problem and, as always, include the traceroute information.

This is about the third time this week where I had to restart my iPod about three times so the forums would load, it wasn't even loading in Safari last time.

News page isn't loading completely for me, and avatars are missing on the forum.

Just an FYI.
Hm, everything seems to be fine at the moment for me.

Yep, same here. It seems to come and go.

Edit: Doing it again. Ran a traceroute and every time it tries to connect is says "timed out".

The website is EXTREMELY slow in Opera and doesn't display any of the graphics (just text on white background). This started 2 days ago. Works fine in Internet Exploder 9.

Tried flushing cache, masking as IE, masking as FF, nothing seems to help.

That is strange, it is loading very quickly for me in Opera 11.61. I presume it loads normally for you in other browsers (not simply "masking" as another browser)?

I am posting this on Opera 11.61 right now and I can say that it is slower than Chrome but not that bad. Mainly down to my Internet connection I guess because other pages are loading slow in Opera too.

Since maybe one week ago, randomly GTP becomes slow-loading. Didn't happen today so whatever caused it might've been solved, but I guess I should tell it to you Jordan.

Thanks guys. I reinstalled Opera after you guys posted that you weren't having problems, works normally now. No idea what happened to corrupt ONLY GTPlanet in Opera

Happened for the first time to me today. I was trying to send a message.

The site got slow, or the page was displayed in white without any other formatting, cbabb?

Are there server problems? I've lost connection twice in the last 30 minutes. First time lasted at least 15 minutes.

All seems to be good now, btw.

I'm having issues to, it'll randomly just stop and sit at a loading screen for a few minutes or until I restart my iPod.

I see there was a problem with some of the hosting company's content delivery servers around the time you guys reported these problems. Everything appears normal now, though.

It was actually my Internet getting messed up by the solar flare since I wasn't the only one who didn't get Internet at all. It said I was connected with 4 bars but it really wasn't.

I had that happen once.
It was late at night (US EST) sometime last week.
It was like the 'skin' wasn't loading...
Cleared up after awhile & loaded properly.

I also occasionally get slow loading, where I hit a button and it times out (rare). Or it just takes a long time... and at the same time there's another site loading just fine. BUT, I chalk this up to having more to do with a variety of things than this web site itself.
This web site actually works QUITE well on my husband's ANCIENT Mac. So no complaints here.
