Stewards Notes

This is a rerun of an event back in the early days of 3D3 Racing (Gettin' Groceries Online). However, this time around things will be a little different. Grip reduction is set to real and the AS and ASM assists are no longer allowed. Also penalties will be off for the race and qualification. Finally, we'll be running live qualification with a formation lap and rolling start this time around.

  • Pole sitter will take side of track that the grid places them on (assuming grid placement is correct).
  • There should be no overlap between cars in the staggered formation.
  • Speed limit on formation lap is 63 mph / 100 kph and pole sitter should maintain this speed (or less) to keep pack together, in particular in the final sector.

  • Pole sitter will exit the last corner and take care to give enough time to allow all cars behind to safely exit the final corner.
  • The pole sitter should start the race by accelerating to race pace at the identified start marker (track specific and may or may not be the start/finish line).
  • Start marker for Autumn Ring Reverse is the start/finish line.
  • Pole sitter can accelerate to race pace at the start marker and all other drivers should accelerate after the driver in front of you does so.
  • No passing is allowed before the start marker.
  • Be cautious and courteous in the first turn. Dive bombing will be penalized and will not be tolerated.

Standard Clean OLR Rules Apply:

  • Unless otherwise specified, all rules from the original WRS event apply.
  • You are expected to drive clean at all times as if you are racing in the WRS. All participants are required to follow the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines.
  • 3D3 Race Stewards (who are taking part in race, but will review the replay) reserve the right to kick out or invalidate the result of any driver from the Race Room for driving offensively. If you ignore any warnings from the stewards and are kicked out of the race room, you will not be allowed to participate in future 3D3 events.
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track
  • Limit your contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Passing and Blocking: Aggressive blocking is not permitted, but the driver in front has the right to choose his/her line and braking point and drivers behind should respect that line. Be especially careful when you are on older tires than the competition as the speed difference may be significant. These events are "for fun" so just play nice and take a conservative rather than an aggressive approach when possible.

Good Luck, OLR Team:gtplanet:

In the event of a field of 13-16 drivers we will disable mics and race with one grid. With 17+ we will split the grid.

Eligibility

This WRS-Online event hosted by 3D3 Racing is open to GTP_Registered members only. If you are not currently on the registry run the GTP_Registry qualifier and join now!

Registration Instructions

The following must be performed by every driver for every event:
  • Click the registration button above, fill-in and submit the online registration form (use your GTP_ tag ID)
  • Leave a quick note in this thread to let us know you've registered and any other comments.
The following must be performed only one time per driver (not per event):
  • Send a PSN friend request to GTP_3D3Racing, GTP_3D3_A and GTP_3D3_B from your GTP_tag account.
  • Submit the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form. Your information will need to be verified before you are added to the db and before your ID will appear in the registered driver table above. You can view the official driver database here.

This is a stand alone race and points are not tallied for a series. Future WRS-Online races hosted by 3D3 racing may have different driver limits and will require re-registration using the same first come first serve basis and participation in future events is optional.

Registration Changes

If you want to change your time slot, add a time slot or update your color choices just click on the registration link and fill out the form again and submit with new values. Your last entry will override any previous entries.

Cancellations

If for some reason, after you register for the event, you are unable to attend please click the registration button above and complete the form again selecting "cancel" as your status. Please also post a note in this thread as the table above can take some time to update.

Thanks Sjaak, and Yup :)
Chris' avatar is almost my favourite pic on the entire website so it has been used twice now.
The first time was in week 30, but it was tough to spot at a first glance.

I don't have copies of the original pics for this week's event so these shots were just quickie cut and paste jobs :(
I'll be slipping in more GTP driver related stuff in the future along with the usual easter eggs that have become staples 👍

What is this flag I see next to Speedy's name? :dopey:

Just ran a couple of stints of this combo and came up with a 1'30.8. No idea how that stacks up with the Spec 2.0 and real grip.

Will there be penalties on for the quali session? Because there's opportunities to cut half the corners here.

Signed up as a reserve for EU, if wifes out i'll be on 👍

This was my first WRS event and I used the DS3 then, would be nice to compare times against the wheel.

I'm leaning toward no penalties. I trust the drivers in this "series" will not abuse the track boundaries.

If we do "group" qualifying drivers in the idle group are allowed to watch and should report any abuse. If the grid is relatively small maybe we should do observed live quali anyway. Like we did back at Cape Ring. Each driver assigned a random "partner" to observe and then they swap. Any visible out of bounds that doesn't result in a loss of time is an infraction adding a 2 second penalty to their quali time. Puts the pressure on and it's fun. It shouldn't take any longer than group qualifying with two groups.

Thoughts?

PS> I ran a best lap last night in a very short session of high 1'30, but can't remember the exact number. I think T-L ran in the low 1'30s before I left and I'm sure if he put his mind to it he got down into the 1'29 range. I didn't do more than 15 laps so I'm sure there was some more to gain, but it appears consistent with the last time we ran the event. I expect the times to be similar as we had penalties on last time and even with low grip reduction people weren't using the grass or too much of the curbing. The big change may be tire wear... not sure what that'll be like as I didn't test a long stint.

Speedy, you are getting up for the NA race! Now that your Flemish you don't need sleep I guess.

I hope for your sake that we get 6 people to show up for NA otherwise you got up in the middle of the night for nothing. We are already at 5 confirmed with 4 reserves so we are likely going to hit a quorum.

Main lounge is open for practice. Gooners, Jammy, Sjaak and myself are already online.

Just getting some late practice in if anyone wants to join, haven't had a chance to run today. 3d3 lounge

Sorry Twissy, I'm done for tonight.
First the lounge blew up with Pekka and myself in there and then some server connection issues came to play which made me unable to join the lounge.
On top of that my PS3 froze and in the reboot a harddrive check was needed which took 10 min. :ouch:

My best lap of the evening was 30.9
Average my laps circle in the 31's.

Using BB 4/7 ABS 1

Cheers speedy for the reference laps, finished my practice runs now, good little fun car drive

Nobody practicing tonight? The lounge is empty

Al

Twissy and I are in the 3D3 lounge now! Come and join us!

Looks like Twissy was getting booted and I am tired of running by myself. Leaving the lounge now, see you all tomorrow.

The weather is finally looking good enough to hit the track tomorrow. :)

Don't expect me for the EU race unless something unexpected happens. I might make it home in time for the NA but i'll have to see how I feel. The first run of the year in my kart is probably gonna drain me. Enjoy the grocery run lads!

Pekka opened the Main Lounge already for pre-race practice/warm up.

Sjaak, Hasslemoff and Twissy are also doing laps already.

I can't connect to the room; keep getting error messages.

I'm absolutely gutted about this..
Any ideas?

I signed up for the NA race.

Maybe something between you and the host which was Pekka? Or just a network glitch. Next time that happens try and connect to some random public room or another lounge that has people in it to see if it's something specific with the 3D3 lounge or if it's a general issue.

If it's specific to 3D3 and the race hasn't started send one of the admins in the race a message on PSN. We could always quickly reshuffle the host if it's just our lounge giving you issues.

See you in the NA race.

Here are the official results of the EU race:
