In the event of a field of 13-16 drivers we will disable mics and race with one grid. With 17+ we will split the grid.

(table will auto update approximately every 30 minutes)

    Eligibility

This WRS-Online event hosted by 3D3 Racing is open to GTP_Registered members only. If you are not currently on the registry run the GTP_Registry qualifier and join now!

    Registration Instructions

The following must be performed by every driver for every event:
    • Click the registration button above, fill-in and submit the online registration form (use your GTP_ tag ID)
    • Leave a quick note in this thread to let us know you've registered and any other comments.
The following must be performed only one time per driver (not per event):
    • Send a PSN friend request to GTP_3D3Racing, GTP_3D3_A and GTP_3D3_B from your GTP_tag account.
    • Submit the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form. Your information will need to be verified before you are added to the db and before your ID will appear in the registered driver table above. You can view the official driver database here.

There is a 32 car/driver limit for this event (per region) and slots are awarded on the grid using a first come first serve basis. Reference the registered drivers table above for availability. This is a stand alone race and points are not tallied for a series. Future WRS-Online races hosted by 3D3 racing may have different driver limits and will require re-registration using the same first come first serve basis and participation in future events is optional.

    Registration Changes

If you want to change your time slot, add a time slot or update your color choices just click on the registration link and fill out the form again and submit with new values. Your last entry will override any previous entries.

    Cancellations

If for some reason, after you register for the event, you are unable to attend please click the registration button above and complete the form again selecting "cancel" as your status. Please also post a note in this thread as the table above can take some time to update.

    Delaying or Restarting Race Start

Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will only be restarted in these cases:
    • Multiple drivers report a black screen/hang, instead of the 3-2-1 countdown.
    • One or more drivers get disconnected before race-pace has begun ("GO" for grid-starts, end of formation lap for rolling starts).
    • Steward realizes there is a condition that would lead to an unfair or poor race experience.

Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will explicitly NOT be restarted for:
    • Latecomers, even if you've registered
    • Driver realizes he picked the wrong car parts (ie, tires) or driving options (ie, Auto tranny)

    • All drivers should exit track after the order is announced and enter the pits. When all drivers are in the pits a steward will start the race.
    • After the system places you on the grid drivers should proceed into stagger formation in order.
    • Pole sitter will take side of track (right or left) that is normally assigned to the pole position on the grid (Deep Forest = Right).
    • There should be no overlap between cars in the staggered formation.
    • Speed limit on formation lap is 63 mph / 100 kph and pole sitter should maintain this speed (or less) to keep pack together, in particular in the final sector.
    • Weaving or other tire warming procedures are NOT allowed during the formation lap.
    • Pole sitter will exit the last corner and take care to give enough time to allow all cars behind to safely exit the final corner.
    • Start marker for Deep Forest is start/finish line.
    • The pole sitter should start the race by accelerating to race pace at the identified start marker (track specific and may or may not be the start/finish line).
    • All other drivers should accelerate after the driver in front of you does so.
    • No passing is allowed before the start marker.
    • Be cautious and courteous in the first turn. Dive bombing will be penalized and will not be tolerated.

    Standard Clean OLR Rules Apply:

    • Unless otherwise specified, all rules from the original WRS event apply.
    • You are expected to drive clean at all times as if you are racing in the WRS. All participants are required to follow the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines.
    • 3D3 Race Stewards (who are taking part in race, but will review the replay) reserve the right to kick out or invalidate the result of any driver from the Race Room for driving offensively. If you ignore any warnings from the stewards and are kicked out of the race room, you will not be allowed to participate in future 3D3 events.
    • Contact with walls should be avoided. Wall riding/bouncing to gain time will be penalized and/or can result in disqualification.
    • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
    • Runoff areas are not part of the track including green painted concrete. The Light Brown Surface to the outside of the Rumble Strip on the Left Side of the Track before the Start Finish Line is Not Track.
    • Limit your contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
    • No hybrids
    • No cheating of any kind
    • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
    • Passing and Blocking: Aggressive blocking is not permitted, but the driver in front has the right to choose his/her line and braking point and drivers behind should respect that line. Be especially careful when you are on older tires than the competition as the speed difference may be significant. These events are "for fun" so just play nice and take a conservative rather than an aggressive approach when possible.

    Good Luck, OLR Team:gtplanet:

    Registered.

This car on S1 should be pretty light on tire wear. Not sure if any pit stops will be needed.

Yes, we were discussing this in the lounge last night.

We will most likely mandate a single stop. I haven't driven many laps and if passing is very easy then we may not mandate one at all, but I know in the past (Cruisin' Monaco) we've mandated a single stop that must take place during a certain lap window. Details post has been updated to reflect that possibility.

Is there any better way to get back in than a non-tuning race?
    ...

    Didn't think so either. ;)

    Singed up for both! :)

Woohooo! Glad your back Speedy. It'll be my last race for a while so will nice to have you on track.

I know everyone likes a non-tuning week, but strangely enough, even though I can't tune at all, I love tuning weeks. Go figure!

Registered for NA. Not sure about tire wear, though. The way I'm smoking them in the TT, I figured I might need 2 pit stops! But we'll see...

WOW this is the closest I've seen offline and online physics and lap times.

Offline, I just had a session where I was chasing a fairly fast ghost...ended up beating it by 0.2 after an hour of grinding. Went into a lounge, made sure settings were set (tire wear, etc), and on my first hotlap, beat the "fairly fast ghost" time by 0.1. :dopey:

Anyone up for a practice session later tonight (pacific time). It's either that or I'm going to immerse myself in GTA 8-5 (or maybe a little of both). I usually get addicted to a combo after online practice, which is usually too late to go back and do the offline time trial. So this is my attempt to get addicted a little early and maybe save some time on Sunday to give the TT an attempt.

I am not available until 8:30 PM pacific, but should have a few hours starting at that time. Lucas -- are you going to be on during your normal very late time slot ~10:00 PM? If so I may run GTA at 8:30 and run this combo later when you are online...

I can make 8:30pm PT according to my current plans. 8-5 is really annoying with the DS3 so I think I'll stay away from that until next week when I think I'll have my wheel back.

Forgot to mention that the 8 laps I did last night barely made a dent in my tires.

Cool... I'll see you in the 3D3 lounge at roughly 8:30 PM.

School is out for the summer here in Santa Cruz as of today and the kids expect to stay up later than normal, but I'll try to heard them to bed at the usual time so I can be free for 8:30. If I'm a little late you can guess where I'll be and hint... I won't be partying like it's 1999

PS> We've got a new driver registered this week [IMG] GTP_Mahnegold (Robert). I just processed his entry in the 3D3 driver database and he should show up in the registration image above during the next update. Welcome Robert! I'll process the FR list for the lounge today so you can join our lounges for practice/events.

I think I've done about 6 laps for offline TT so far, which is odd because I usually grind out laps on Deep Forest.

    Hello everybody!

Thank you very much for the cordial welcome :)

I am very excited to give my debut in the racing series. I hope I do everything correct in this event :nervous:

I have no experience in GT5-online-races. however I am looking very much forward to the race :)

I see you on the track

Don't worry if you make some mistakes... we all do. Hopefully you'll find the drivers in this series courteous and understanding and all we ask of new drivers is they do the same. What's nice about this crew is there are drivers across the entire spectrum so just about anyone can find some fun, clean and close racing.

If you have no online racing experience it's always great to get started in the practice to work out any connection issues or just get any questions answered in the most relaxed atmosphere. Tuesday is official practice day, but people will be in and out of the lounge all week and usually they just post in the current event thread when they plan to practice and want company. Tonight for example, although that time won't work for you in Germany unless you are a vampire, and we have a few of those too :sly:.

One final note on the lounges. You won't be able to see from the lounge icon whether anyone is in the lounge (there will be no little yellow dot) since we don't actually log into the GTP_3D3Racing PSN account. You will need to click on the lounge and a window will pop up and show you who is inside and give you the option to join or cancel. Good luck.

 But just remember I haven't done *any* laps yet so don't ask for a race after 5 minutes.

Edit: Lounge is setup and open, but I'll be AFK for about 40 minutes.

Might have to change my status for the EU race. Watching Le Mans skewed my sleep schedule. Waking up at 5pm wouldn't get me to the EU race at all. :dunce:

Signed up for EU to try again ... but I might leave it as reserve this time either way, as the weekday means a number of things can go wrong.

Probably won't get to practice much; gotta find time for 8-5 and GATE as well
