In the event of a field of 13-16 drivers we will disable mics and race with one grid. With 17+ we will split the grid.

Eligibility

This WRS-Online event hosted by 3D3 Racing is open to GTP_Registered members only. If you are not currently on the registry run the GTP_Registry qualifier and join now!
As we're waiting for the first GT6 Qualifier submissions to be processed, we are opening our races to all members who are currently running the Qualifier and waiting to join the WRS.

Registration Instructions

The following must be performed by every driver for every event:
  • Click the registration button above, fill-in and submit the online registration form (use your GTP_ tag ID)
  • Leave a quick note in this thread to let us know you've registered and any other comments.
The following must be performed only one time per driver (not per event):
  • Send a PSN friend request to GTP_3D3Racing, GTP_3D3_A and GTP_3D3_B from your GTP_tag account.
  • Submit the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form. Your information will need to be verified before you are added to the db and before your ID will appear in the registered driver table above. You can view the official driver database here.
Registration Changes

If you want to change your time slot, add a time slot or update your color choices just click on the registration link and fill out the form again and submit with new values. Your last entry will override any previous entries.

Cancellations

If for some reason, after you register for the event, you are unable to attend please click the registration button above and complete the form again selecting "cancel" as your status. Please also post a note in this thread as the table above can take some time to update.

Delaying or Restarting Race Start

Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will only be restarted in these cases:
  • Multiple drivers report a black screen/hang, instead of the 3-2-1 countdown.
  • One or more drivers get disconnected before race-pace has begun ("GO" for grid-starts, end of formation lap for rolling starts).
  • Steward realizes there is a condition that would lead to an unfair or poor race experience.
Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will explicitly NOT be restarted for:
  • Latecomers, even if you've registered
  • Driver realizes he picked the wrong car parts (ie, tires) or driving options (ie, Auto tranny)

  • Unless otherwise specified, all rules from the original WRS event apply.
  • You are expected to drive clean at all times as if you are racing in the WRS. All participants are required to follow the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines.
  • 3D3 Race Stewards (who are taking part in race, but will review the replay) reserve the right to kick out or invalidate the result of any driver from the Race Room for driving offensively. If you ignore any warnings from the stewards and are kicked out of the race room, you will not be allowed to participate in future 3D3 events.
  • Contact with walls should be avoided. Wall riding/bouncing to gain time will be penalized and/or can result in disqualification.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track including green painted concrete.
  • Limit your contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Passing and Blocking: Aggressive blocking is not permitted, but the driver in front has the right to choose his/her line and braking point and drivers behind should respect that line. Be especially careful when you are on older tires than the competition as the speed difference may be significant. These events are "for fun" so just play nice and take a conservative rather than an aggressive approach when possible.

Good Luck, OLR Team:gtplanet:

Notes:
  • Times submitted will help the race admins create the initial lounge split.
  • If you end up in the wrong lounge you are going to end up racing with people who are not closest to your pace so please submit a practice lap if at all possible, especially if you do not have a division/handicap from the GT5 registry.
  • If you go faster in another session just re-submit, only your last submitted lap will be displayed and used.
  • Please be sure to match the regulations used for the events so all drivers are using a common set of regulations.

EU A room Race #1 from Tidgney

Tidgney captures a funny moment

We've made these races just a tiny bit longer than last week, but there will only be 3 races instead of 4. The overall event should be a bit shorter and fit into 90 minutes including the 10 minute qualification session before race 1. Since these are again sprints it's OK if drivers arrive late or have to leave between races.

As always there will be official practices next week, but feel free to start up a room at any time according to the settings in the detail post and post the room # here in the thread for people to join. Post your best laps to the leader board which is open immediately. We're not going to open registration official event registration until Sunday because last week we got quite a few no shows. By opening registration closer to the event time, the list is more likely to represent who will actually show up on race day and make it easier for us to plan proper lounge splits. It will also help if every driver posts a practice time so they end up in the appropriate room.

Under testing we found it was quite difficult to pass so we've adjusted the slip stream setting from real to weak. This will provide passing opportunities without having to resort to dive bombing, but is still within reason.

See you on track!

I have little practice room up, feel free to join: 1472-6118-3658-4757-6388

4 guys practicing at the moment :)

Room is still alive, but I'm out.

I might join. Made a change to my router and need to test it out.

Edit: Are body modifications allowed, ie: bodykit, if they don't affect PP?

I'll join as well! These sprint races are really enjoyable! 👍 And Deep Forest is one of my favourite tracks! :)

After an hour of practice, I believe this combo is better in GT6 than it was in GT5.

Also, I don't know how it happened but I got faster. I don't remember ever being within .250 of the D1 guys.

I don't know who this 'GTP_WOW' is but they're not online practicing so I'll presume that they're current time is set in an offline mode with tyre wear and fuel off.

EDIT: It's pretty clear that someone is making up times just so that I'm not at the top of the leaderboard now..

I don't think entering splits is a good idea anymore since GT6 live timing doesn't go to the thousandth. So, anyone who does add splits in gets their time rounded to the tenth.

Most likely why Bart's time is a 24.900 instead of the actual laptime he had.

We'll just clear the leaderboard of any suspicious times and hope GTP_Wow shows up in a lobby and can lay down those times.

I've adjusted the leaderboard so that even if someone enters splits the displayed lap time in the leaderboard reverts to the full lap time put in by the user. That change will show up with the next refresh. So it's OK to enter splits if you like.

It would be nice if PD were to fix that little quirk soon!

Managed to shave 1 second of my time, 1'26.288.

I had a public room opened, but closing it now..... to many none GTP'rs enter....

Will open a friendsroom, if you are not on my friendslist, just send me a message and feel free to join.

If you're still there this evening (around 20-20.30) i'll join!

Sorry Koen, I will not be racing tonight (got already 500km under my belt in the WRX today)

@PASM ; Thanks Bart for the practice.

@BanditKarter22 ; accepted your FR, but saw it a little late, but it will come in handy in the future

I was able to improve my time to 1'25.895 without draft, but I think I am at my limit here.... I can keep up in the first sector but defenitly loosing 0.5 sec in the second. The last corner is crucial offcourse.

I'll sign up when it's ready. Loved my time a couple nights ago and can't wait to try it out again! This time I'll join some practice rooms and post my times.

Hopefully I will have unlocked online on my GTP_ account so I might be racing with that, we'll see.

I have to play with shifting a little. It seems like it is borderline on a few turns as to whether to go down a gear or just stay in the same gear.

I will be participating when the registration becomes available. I had such a blast last week, and hope to develop some healthy rivalries to increase my skill. Watch out @BanditKarter22 I'm gunning for you! :sly:
