Aww! Looks like I need another run. I think i'll lose as much as a tenth, but still a good lap time. Cathedral rocks still needs some practice.

Managed to improve on my Motegi time of 45.447 with a 44.892 by breaking a little earlier for the corner and getting a better run out of the last corner. Also found a setup that I like which reduces the understeer and makes the car just have have right amount of oversteer under braking and on turn in for my driving style. Basically ended up with stiff front, soft rear and using more negative front than rear toe and increased camber levels with more at front.

Twin Ring Motegi West Short Course - 44.892
Beginner Course (forward) - 27.222
Cathedral Rocks Trail III (reverse) - 29.913

Fast lap... but unfortunately unclean. The entrance into the chicane is debatable, but the exit from it is isn't (it cuts the corner onto the strip).

Sorry!

By the way, I didn't see the tip! It sort of looks like my runs - just faster!

Watch the replay and you will find out that it is: The Scandanavian flick! Release the acceleration when you hit the kurb on the right-hander, accelerate again, then brake. You have some weight potential when you brake, helping you turn around the left corner faster. That is what i've done, just too fast! Hope it helps. 👍

Interesting, Dan... I'll give it a shot. But something tells me it takes a bit of skill to execute (and a fair amount of practice)!

I did improve all my time by a small bit last night. Though, upon review of my replays, I did notice a single spark just after the jump at Cathedral Rocks Trail III. Hopefully I'll be able to run a lap just as fast - but clean!

so far my times are:
cathedral rocks trail III/reverse: 30.338
twin ring motegi west short course: 45.887
beginner course/ forward: 27.829

i would like to know whether my lap for beginner course was clean. i cut it really close in the last part of the "kink" so i would like a second opinion thanks :)

My final times:

Beginner Course - 27.258
Cathedral Rocks III - 29.950
Twin Ring Motegi West - 45.407

The GT4 photo is mine :D

Combined time: 1'42.615 (Providing that my maths is right)

On Twin Ring Motegi, i did this. Green being the kerb, Blue the wheel (the wheel isn't a perfect cylinder), yellow the grass. This happened on both of the right wheels, on the same kerb.

\___/................/-----\\___/

Sorry for the rough sketch, but it is clean?

Good luck! 👍

rpr101 - it's close, but it still appears that the front tire was at least partially on the white line. The line is painted onto the tarmac, so it is in-bounds.

:)

Yay!

I'm not fully following the graphic, but I do have my PSP sitting in front of me. Let me load up the replay and take a peek at it.

Hurrah! I am expecting a 2 second gap between first and last place this week. I think that I could get into the 27.1XX range at Beginner Course, but I am happy with my submission. I have spent 250 laps or so at it, so it was well worth it.

I'm done! Had to discard a few dirties but I'm not likely to improve on my final times:

Motegi: 44.960
Beginners (fwd): 27.225
CR3 (rvs): 29.885

1'42.070

Really enjoyable challenge this week, partly thanks to the short lap times which meant I could play in very short bursts without losing rhythm.

Good luck to everybody!

Oh my!!! I just noticed now I forgot to attach the Rar'ed Replay Files! AWWWW!!! :(
My submission was useless.
Great Job guys! I think Fuchur got the Gold! congrats!👍

Congratulations to Fuchur for beating out Lion-Face to take first by more than a tenth! Great job!

Sylar took home the bronze this week, but sausages was right on his tail - just .043 seconds behind.

red ice forgot to upload his replay, which is a feeling I know all too well. rpr101 gets the extra point by finishing in 8th this week and broke the overall tie between the two.

Now, as far as the overall standing for this racing session (which has now ended and we'll all return to 0 points for the next session), I want to congratulate our overall winner, Lion-Face! Nobody was more consistent from week to week and nobody deserves it more than you, Lion-Face! Excellent racing, sir!

Sylar put up a noble fight, but ended up in 2nd place overall. He was another highly-consistent racer that I pretty much always expected each week to snag a podium finish.

Finishing in third overall was Fuchur, which is doubly-impressive when you consider that he was also hosting/competing in his weekly drifting challenge!

Lion-Face, please accept your trophy:

Congratulations Lion-Face on a well deserved victory as you have consistently the fastest person over course of the season with times which were well beyond what we thought was the cars were even capable of.
