Anybody else's Firefox browser crash when more than one tab is open when using GTP11? This never occurred to me while using GTPX, just wondering if anyone else has had any problems? Or is it just my Laptop?

Tom.

I've been having similar problems. I use Firefox too.
I'm using a netbook (laptop really) so I do happen to run into this problem often.

I've had it defragmented (or whatever it's called) and it seems to be working fine.

I've had it fragged and it seems that is the problem.

Fixed:dopey:

I'll try defragging it later, what netbook are you using? I've got a HP G56 Netbook 👍

Try using Opera with turbo as I have had problems as well but with Opera it's fine.

For those of you having problems, what Firefox version and OS are you using? Can you try disabling your add-ons and see if the problem persists?

Firefox 5.1, and I've already cleared cache and disabled add-ons.

Interesting. There's frankly very few changes to the way the underlying mark-up and code work on GTP11, and there's nothing particularly exotic going on in the new style, so this is a real mystery. What OS are you using? Does it crash only on forum pages, or the blog? Does it crash on the first page you try to load on the site? Could you describe the "crash" behavior itself in more detail?

It doesn't "crash" as such, it just runs really slowly whenever I have GTP open. I have checked my speed and it is the same as it always is. Opera works fine however.

By "slowly", you mean scrolling is difficult? I'd like to see if I can recreate this problem. Could you try some of the other troubleshooting questions I mentioned in my other post? What operating system is your computer running?

Seems to crash and make my browser not respond more when I have Youtube open for example, even if I'm not watching a video, very peculiar..It normally crashes on the forum pages. My Browser normally becomes unresponsive and you have to go into the whole Ctrl+Alt+Del process and get the task manager up to end the browser's functions and then reload. I will try to disable the add-on's and then see if there is an update that needs to be downloaded. 👍

Is there any page in particular that consistently makes it crash? Could you disable Javascript and see if it continues to happen? Also, could you please share your computer's operating system/version?

Just any Youtube or a page that takes a lot of bandwith really, It normally says that my Adobe Shockwave Player has crashed :( I'm running Windows 7 with 2gb of RAM. 👍

Firefox 7 at work & Firefox 8 at home - both with loads of addons. No issues so far. :)

Ah, that's interesting - I wonder if some of the Flash ad banners may be causing your problems. Are you running the latest version of Adobe Flash?

Strange, I'm running the same conditions as Tombrooks. 2GB Ram, Windows 7, and Firefox. I have never had any problems. I have sometimes ten tabs open. One or two youtube, 5 GTP, and another few on Nogrip. None have crashed ever. :odd:

Yep running Shockwave 11.6, Laptop updates it automatically.

Flash and shockwave are different drivers.
Also have you got anything constantly using ram? My friends and I managed to make minecraft crash due to lack of memory

Oh 🤬 And possibly iTunes but other than that then I don't think so.

Go here to check your Flash player version. I'd be interested to know what it is. If it's not update to date, please get the latest version and see if the problem continues.

Firefox, Opera and Safari work fine for me but Google Chrome is the problem child.
Error 400 on the adverts (Your web browser has sent a bad request) ... and sometimes doesn't load altogether... :(

That's why I changed to Firefox in the first place.
