Congrats guys, welcome ASH and mcfizzle to D2 bronze. Doing a good job of making me look slow at the moment 👍

So great since I joined the WRS, all the top guys in the PSN events that always at the top. Always wondered who is this "Zoky" guy at the top always when first played GT5 :sly: And now I see eclipsi_RC is a WRS'er as well. Wonder if this RASTA Croatia guy and RB26Shooter is here as well :)

Back on topic, arghh T3 'S' is killing me. Really appreciate tips for that onefor best entry/exit strategy. I've been trying wide entry, then hug right hand apex for slow in fast out of left corner. Am I attacking this correctly?

Also been finding it quite 'lively' with TCS off. Found TCS 2 helps a bit mid corner, but then the ghost pulls away on corner exit. How many using TCS or opting for it off?

Not a run in yet need to lvl to 21 :( got 6000 xp driving points left after 2 .5 hrs

Feel your pain CSL. I'm still at lvl18 and some change, plus I've injured my back which is making getting into a real car difficult today nevermind GT5 lappery...

The only consolation is that by the time I get to lvl21, I'll have enough cash on this account to buy one NASCAR from each brand!

2 more half hour sessions, I can't take the noise. :yuck:

22.546
21.342
17.933

I must of slipped up in the 2nd sector.
Pretty much default settings.

QUESTION: I had to buy a new Nascar, How many laps are you guys turning until you have refresh the oil and get a HP boost?

I started with a new Nascar too.
I believe all cars take 320km (200mi) to run-in (break-in) and then once it is run-in the oil must be changed every 200km to keep the car at peak power. This, to the best of my knowledge, applies to all cars in the game but I am not 100% certain on when engine overhauls must take place but I believe it is optimum to do them around 8000km (5000mi).
The chassis overhaul is dependent, IIRC, on how you drive the car (hitting walls, rumble strips etc.) so there is no "optimum" formula on when to complete chassis overhaul... :)
In answer to your question though. I believe the road course is about 4km per lap (check this though) so 80 laps will see the car run-in (4x80=320). Then do an oil change immediately and every additional 50 laps put on the car complete another oil change until 8000km when an overhaul is required. 👍
Hope that helps. :)

Looks like I need to find a nice easy track to turn some laps on.
Get the mileage up, drop the oil and then have another crack at it.
Thanks for your help.

Cheers All !!!

Congrats on the promotion Pyxen, new times, a little more pressure, but not quite enough.

T1: 23.060
T2: 21.758
T3: 18.633

Man only .1 dif between 700hp and max, I thought I knew this track better then that. I guess it's off to read up on what setups are bouncing around. I can beleve that I'm in the 3 second club...

For heavens sake, will you slow down please!

22.433
20.903
18.038

Annoyingly on the previous lap I had done a 17.8 in T3, and that T1 was without using the rumble on the first corner. Another three tenths in there with this set-up, which is Stotty's with a few changes here and there. BB is 5/7. I probably won't make any more changes till I've got a 1'00.9xx with this setup, as it's there.

Edit: Also also, the switch of BB from normal, helped massively with turn 4.

I tried chuckabilly's tune briefly last night (my wife came home earlier than she said, which curtailed my session) and I think it's better than mine for the most part. I think Zoky's already picked up one of the shortcomings in that tune though... the diff is bit tight, causing some exit understeer.

I was hitting consistent .2's at T1.

I'll hopefully be giving it a proper go later today.

Can't even find chuk's tune. I can definitely see a .2 in T1, all about the first corner. The last proper corner is a bit of a bummer too, quite hit or miss, not really found a braking or turning marker yet.

This is my first crack at it.
Usually set up + me = lots of profanity!
LOTS of improvement if i can keep the rear end behaved!

T2: 22.392

still working on my setup. I really think I can get my first podium this week. I raced nascar 2002 and 2003 for a long time.... although, there aren't near as many setup option in GT5 as there was in the nascar series. I'm really surprised they don't have tire pressure as an adjustment.. anyway. good luck everyone, really looking forward to this week.

Here are my car settings, I hope to help a bit:
