Steward's Comments:
Giving you some grip back this week. This is one of just a couple of the RM cars that we have not used yet. Simple track, tuning week. Should be a good one. :)

Viewing your T1 & T2 Time Splits:

  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay Theater' option.
  • While Viewing Your Replay, Choose the "Live Timing Monitor" To View Your Sector Times
  • To post your T1 & T2 Splits, simply post the sector times that are shown in the live timing monitor.
  • The WRS Fetchbot has been updated and will now add your splits together!

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires in-line would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.

  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your best lap/ghost replay

Thread rules:

The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):

  • Total Lap Time
  • Any information which can be used to infer your total laptime

The following information can be discussed in this thread :

  • T1 & T2 times
  • Any settings discussion.

Number of splits: 2

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 138 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    Time: X'XX.XXX
    (Example-) Time: 1'10.100
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the body: "get entry"
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the body of "remove entry".
  • If multiple times are submitted, only the last submission will be counted.
  • Please include in your submission PM your final lap time
  • The deadline is Monday, October 14th 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers, named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

Good luck, :gtplanet:

Edit: Is tuning allowed this week ?

My bad must have missed that, reading the OP from my phone so I didn't read everything, thanks for pointing it out.

No problem. 👍 One of my favorite tracks so I was just here scoping things out, thinking about running this one.

Another fun one, Kevin 👍 Tons of grip, alright!

At full power (324hp). Using my own approximate tune until an expert posts a real one!

T3 is not easy. I'm struggling to find the best braking/re-acceleration points...

First few laps. Not broken in yet. Very fun combo!

I was just thinking when I saw this weeks Time trial..."Haven't we already run this one?"

Remembered, for the RM Parity event I used this exact car. Funny thing is, it was at this track as well. Was really fun to drive then, but saves me some time running in a car and already had some practice!

Out of interest, are people using the AYC or the LSD?

Well, got back last night from a very successful and stress free wedding weekend. No trouble, no hiccups.... perfect! 👍

Nice to be greeted with a perfect combo too... shame about last week's but I think this might supercede it now, having only run last week's twice.

20.705

Nice choice of tyres Kevin. Just put a good hour into this one and hopefully another one later since I'll probably have little time until the weekend. A bit of tidying up to do... saw plenty of .6 first sectors and a few .7s in sector 2. Not sure what full power is but I don't think that will make much difference. Decent sector 2, Manu. 👍

LSD is better without a doubt.

I used AYC as I didn't know that I could use LSD I set it at 100 later I tried LSD and it was smoother but I have no idea what values are good yet.

Decent sector 2, Manu. 👍

LSD is better without a doubt.

Thanks Chris, nice sector 1, lowest for me is a 772, .6 sounds pretty good. 👍
Btw if you don't mind my asking what LSD values are you using?

I'll post my setup when I've finalised it but LSD is currently 5/20/5 5/30/10

I think I'll wait until then to run this again. Nice splits Chris. I'm expecting you in D1 Gold in the next round of promotions. :)

First splits are:

20.862
20.304

What's the trick to sector 2? Don't know how I can be missing half a second in that one sector!

Likewise... my best so far is a 20.4... I can't break .9 in T1 either... completely baffled

Are you kidding me? So what would you do if I didn't post my setup? :sly:
Nice splits Chris. I'm expecting you in D1 Gold in the next round of promotions.
Thanks Andrew but my handicaps haven't been anywhere near good enough for a while now so I don't expect I'll get a promotion anytime soon. :)

Anyway, setup:
wmzy.jpg

20.612
19.807

PB sector 1, lost half a tenth in sector 2 sliding round the esses before the tunnel and another tenth hesitating to get back on the power round the last bend.

The 'trick' in sector 2...? Go faster. :sly: Honestly Tim, Paul - given your general pace I'm surprised you're so quick to be negative. :indiff: Every bit of sector 2 is crucial to being fast through there and you have to be both ultra smooth and quick on the throttle. The only trick is sewing it all together.

This is the only video I have of GVE:

Thanks for the Tune, tips, and video Chris! 👍

Yeh will put more time into that sector. 1 and 3 I am happy with, so 2 is what I will keep my attention on for now and try to gain back some tenths there.

Chris, thanks again for the tune. First 30 laps in for this TT. I had to quit last week's as I had to unexpectedly leave town for 4 days, dad is in hospital. That will probably be the case again this week.
I have had T1s in the high .7s, but this T2 and T3 were good enough to overcome that. I love this car on this track, fairly easy to run lap after lap within tenths of each other.

Thanks for the tune and video, Chris! In just a few laps, I was able to gain almost 0.4s on my previous best lap. Do you shift down to 4th for the first right-hander in T2?

Battling back and forth with my ghost, so hopefully I can clean this up some more.

P.S. Nice pics in the op Kevin, those look cool.👍
