New splits (after chunking a 50.5 T2 and 23.8 T1 on consecutive laps) and a question:

Is hitting branches overhanging the track dirty?

I crawled up to that barrier and stuck my car up against it and looked at the replay as to how close you can get without hitting it and even when I was leaning on it in my car, then I looked at it in replay I was still about 6 inches away. Your just going to give anyone a headache who want to inspect it and they will prob. give up and red flag you.

About what I figured. Good thing the current lap is faster than that one.
 
I appreciate all the help people have been willing to provide this week...I still can't seem to unlock any major revelations though:

I'm not unhappy with my new splits, but I don't really feel like I understand how to make dramatic improvements. Maybe when the results are out I'll study full laps in a fair amount of detail to try and pick up where people are finding all the extra time :drool:
 
Improved today by 4 tenths, then excited out to check the replay splits only to realise in my haste I forgot to save the 🤬 Replay!

Oh well back at it tomorrow

Groan, wish I could say that I had never done that.....so annoying but at least you know you have a faster lap in you 👍

The best is when you red lap on the first sector and go on to smash your time. Then never get close to it for the remainder of the week. Happened with the audi

I just tried to get my times from the regular replay and noticed that they're off by being .O13 faster than they should be... Is this a glitch in my ps3, or has anyone else noticed this?

Anyway .O13 Isn't going to make these look any better.

I've been battling weeds and lawn stuff this week as it's about perfect for fertilizing. Haven't tried this all week : / I'll try getting to it again this weekend tho.

Hm, I'll have to check. Those times are actually pretty good. It took me hundred laps to get under 24 in T1 :)
 
Yep replay splits are fractionally faster than the splits shown during the lap as they have been in most GT games over the years... and your lap should show as faster at the line also 👍

Yes. If you need the accurate figures you can load the replay as ghost and drive through the checkpoints. This, however, is annoying work.

Strange that it shows two differing times. Does that mean that when I'm chasing the ghost car it's actually slowed down, or is the replay just a fraction faster?

I usually never check my times until they're in the gallery so I never noticed it before now.

PB sector 2 but only up 0.026 at the line. :) Still looking for a tenth in 1st sector and about the same in 3rd sector....

The replay doesn't pause exactly at the split marker - there's usually about a 0.013-0.017 delta between the actual split time (as seen when you're still driving) and the one shown when you pause the replay and skip to sectors. It doesn't matter since we're all posting split times from the replay, so the leaderboard still reflects the correct positions. The most important time is the lap time of course, which is automatically extracted from the replay when you submit it, so is always accurate.

Better 3rd sector and up 0.067 :) Seen a 23.300 so still looking for those just-out-of-reach last 2 tenths.
 
There's a lot of 23's as first sectors here. Probably makes my splits look like nothing.

This has been quite a baptism of fire for me, first wrs tt ever.
Still can't break into the 24s :confused:for first split.... :cool::confused::confused::cool:
 
I landed on the side of the car in 1st sector, producing a loud bang. Was that dirty? I did not manage to match my pb, anyway.
