An absolute disaster in the points at Austin as 17 players had a driver failing to score a point - and one player having two... :scared:

Top points scorer at COTA was @Miodrag on 69 (nice), and one player scored the joint-second lowest amount of points in any round so far...

It didn't get much better in Mexico, as 12 players had a driver fail to score, Red Bull's FACC blank meant 12 players also had their chassis fail to score, and seven players had both. Among them was early season championship leader @Jordan who - along with @kaori and @noshog - set a new all-time lowest round score of 21.5 :eek:

@Roo and @zjn topped the round, and with four races left this season the margin at the top of the table is still just 14.5 points... and there's only 31.5pt covering the top four now, which looks like being the remaining pool for the overall winner.

Weird fluke'o'clock: Las Vegas was the only round this season in which nobody scored a half-point... and as everyone was already at a round number after Sao Paulo, nobody is currently on any half-points either...

However, Norris's retirement in the race means everyone has lost ground to perpetu-leader @Touring Mars, who now has the largest advantage yet this season at 23 points going into the final round.

A maximum score though is 83.5pt (although I think nobody can score more than 82.5pt now), so it's still a top-four, last-race playoff...

I would love to see a full season table on all the points per race, in all categories. (Pretty sure Famine actually has this, to calculate people's scores)

I might even do some data analysis to figure out what the optimal strategy would have been, just to see how close people got to the maximum attainable score.
 
Let me be the first to congratulate @Touring Mars, well done mate, you pretty much held on to that top spot all season long, I got within 14.5 points of you 3 races ago but in the end the best fantasy team won.

And to everyone else including myself.

The deeper stats on FACC are interesting too - Albon getting no FACC points at all, Haas being within one point of a 50:50 split...

It doesn't. They are an abomination - same as the double-points finale!

@Touring Mars won the final round to extend his lead - held since day one, in a Verstappen-esque performance - to the largest it's been all season long, taking a 25pt win over @Pupik.

I'll post up component results when I remember (although chassis is the same as FACC, above), but it won't be a surprise to learn it was Verstappen, Red Bull, and RBPT/Honda at the top of each.
 
Well, what can I say... (presuming the results are validated and correct anyway 😅)



And thanks to @Famine for creating and curating this game - I gave up on Fantasy Football-type games a few years ago because they were too much hassle and actually quite stressful at times; this, however, was very much my kind of game - simple, very low maintenance, and easy to understand - though the simplicity of it actually made it quite tricky!

I think I can safely say that I got very lucky with my initial choice of team, which happened to be identical to @Jordan's, but I got my mid-season changes right and switched my team from 'Aston Martian' to 'Red Bull****' at the right time.

Frankly, however, none of this would have been possible without the hero of the team, Fernando Alonso... not only did he score brilliantly in the first half of the season, but he also gained 2 ranks which, ironically, made it possible to sack him and replace him with Max Verstappen. Sorry about that Old Bean, but if I had to do the same again, I would my friend.

Make it three as there are two people who liked my post earlier about wanting it to return. Honestly though, post the info for a the new season, tag everyone who took part last season and it'll easily crack 15-20 users in a few days. The interest is here, but it's hard to say how many are actually interested without indication a game is happening. Caption Game currently has not had posts for ages, but it'll be fine once the season begins and the game actually begins.
 
Didn't play last year (wasn't aware that you could enter at anytime. D'oh) but I'd be interested in playing this season.
 
I'm interested in playing again this year, @Famine. Its really the only reason I pay attention to Formula 1 anymore.
