Yes. If you see a redundant thread, use the Report To Moderators button and tell us it's redundant. Then make a short post in the thread itself, saying something like:

Hi, this question has already been asked a number of times. Look at the stickies or try searching for "xxxxx". In the meantime this thread has been reported, so it may get closed.

...or something like that.

Man, you guys are anal retentive. I say if there's not a similar thread on the first 2 pages, it's fair game. I mean who has time to search for every possible wording of what they're about to post? Sure...If it's a question obviously covered by one of the stickies then posting it is a waste of everyone's time.

That being said, resurrecting old threads is IMO more annoying than posting a new thread. If anything, shorter threads are easier to sort through than long ones.

^ ya except for the ten threads a day that are "Will the __INSERT RANDOM CAR___ be in the game?" b/c people are too lazy to read the "Master Car List". I agree that if it's not on the first 2 pages the thread is probably stale, but most of the annoying new threads ARE covered on the first 2 pages.

Nobody's going to yell about that. But I've watched duplicate threads appear less than 5 lines above an active thread on the same board... which is pathetic, and what we're really talking about in this thread.

Resurrecting an old thread for no reason is very annoying. But bringing back a good, relevant thread, and adding a new twist to it is not.

I'm all for thread revives on old topics if they're relevant. I hate to see people post "What the hell? I can't log out" in a thread that's nearing 2 years old just for the hell of it. That's wrong.

At the moment we're almost fortunate because (I don't know if there's been a lull or this is the cull going to work) the GT4 forum has been down a bit on retarded posts. We still have Aston Martins? NSX in GT4? and a few others, but it's otherwise been thankfully clear. Having heard just how the report system works I'll be less hesitant to employ it. Whoever gets to a duplicate thread first can respond to the question then report it and state it's been reported, sounds like a fine system.
