Been a couple of days since Ive signed onto iracing. Just saw the normal Daytona 2.4 is going to be a full 24 hours this year. I kinda figured it would be when they introduced the driver swap feature. Ive done the 2.4 the past couple of years and its always a blast. Ive yet to do anything with the drivers swap yet so interested to see how all that works.

With all that being said were any of you guys planning on racing it this year? Since we already have our team I figured I would see who all here was trying to race. If we are going to do it we need to start making preparations as the race itself is on Jan 31st and the pre race test thing they are doing is on the 17-18th.

Awesome! That makes 2 of us at least :D. I would assume we need at least 4 total so that would be 2, 3 hour stints a person. How many people can we have? Also how do the setups work? I was thinking whenever we get in the car our own setup would load but I'm not sure as I haven't even done any team racing yet. I have a team speak we could use as well for practicing and the race.

What car and class would everyone want to run? Ive always done the GT class the past couple of years because Ive never really got on with the riley. This year I'm kinda on the fence cause I love the HPD and its probably the road car I have the most experience in, but would like to drive the BMW because I used the Mclaren the first year and the Ruf last year. I guess technically you could run both if you really wanted but that would be a bit much I think unless you can have 6-8 people per team where your only running 1-2, 2 hour stints.

So that's 3 of us!
I am a GT driver at heart and to be honest I would 100% go for the Ford GT at Daytoda as it simply is the dominant car on that track, stable, good on the tires on the long runs and DAT SOUND :drool: . However I'm ok with anything but the Ruf!
Now just one more driver and we would be set! The best thing would be to get the race divided by stints and assing ourselves for 2-3 hr stints like Mad said so we can at least get 6-8 hrs rest between stints and having no more than 4 stints each.
 
Won't be able to race, but if you guys decide on the car early on then I might be able to create a team paint if you want.

Applied to the team. Just back to iRacing after a 6 month hiatus (Wheel died), so I'm not exactly the fastest guy out there. Depending on the car, I could run a stint or two. As with the rest of you, I'm more a GT class kinda guy.

Personally and I think most will feel the same I prefer a consistent and safe driver as a teamate over a hot shoe with a hot head!
 
I'm good with the ford gt if that's what you guys want to run. It does seem to do good around Daytona because I was a little faster in it compared to the bmw with the same amount of practice.

Do any of you guys know when the details like weather and start time will be out? I haven't checked the forums maybe its up there. Do you guys want to do the practice race as well? I would be down for that as I havnt done any team stuff at all.

Right now I am most comfortable in the McLaren, I know I said the Ford would be the best choice and it might as well be. But after some laps today I can't get to grips with the Z4, on my setup it goes very well trough the buss stop but makes a 1wheeled burnout out of every slow corner. And the setups from the forums are good at low speeds but can't go trough the buss stop at all!!
The Ford is good but I haven't found the right setup yet...
The McLaren I can go laps and laps with no drama, decently fast and consistently on my setup...
 
I just ran some laps in the Mclaren and Im by far the slowest in it lol. Im fastest with the ford then bmw and mclaren. I was a whole second off on the mclaren compared to the ford gt. I used the setup that's posted on the ford gt forum with the tc and rear diff turned down a click. Seems to be pretty good for me so far but need some more laps and setup changes and it will be good for me so my vote is to use the ford gt. I'm still assuming whenever we get in to drive our own setups will load.

Ford it is!! Now we have to get together for some practice! I got my setup right last night and was on the Top 5 of 20+ on an official practice session with no draft in the Ford.

Not a finished idea yet. Was thinking of doing something similar to the Ruf livery that will be in project cars, but I'm open to suggestions.

I like it! Except for the purple lol.

I'm running 45.2's so far. Need some more laps and tweaks to get into the 44's. I'll be online to practice in about 15 mins. We can hop into one of the gt3 practices if you guys want. We can get into one of the sessions that isn't full.

Yeah I have a friends team speak we can use. I just have to remember what the password is lol.
