After a 3 year drought I have finally purchased a model car. Pictures to follow, but I can reveal it IS a Stallion

Thank you all for the help a couple of pages ago. I managed to acquire two cabinets for free from work. They shall definitely suffice for now
 
Ok guys, I want to buy a Peugeot 908 1:18...there are: Minichamps, Solido and Norev.
The prices are very similar but there are some differences, about the Solido looks like it's made of plastic (openable parts but as far as I can tell...it's plastic...), Norev should be good, at least my 905 is a nice model but Minichamps looks like the most obvious choice...(?)

Consider those (short-lived) debts paid, chap. 👍

The model really looks very well-detailed; the proportions look correct, the design is unfettled with and the overall quality is solid for a Norev model. And if the suspension bit is indeed true, then there's another reason to have one Norev Alpine VGT for yourself. It's just a shame that the flaps themselves are not modelled, imagine a rear view picture with the detailed brake flaps open, that would be a fine sight for sore eyes... But still, there might be a chance for that in the future, for now I'm just glad that there is an "affordable" VGT scale model which I can buy without too much of a hassle, compared to Tomica's VGT models or Modeller's own.

And who knows, perhaps the Race model may get the same treatment from Norev...?

Photo settings (ball park): stacked 2-3 photos (excluding the last 3 close-ups), ISO 1600, Time at 5-6s, f/18(?), LED flashlight, black ping pong table, empty double garage with the lights out.

Norev 1:43 model; The Alpine Vision Gran Turismo!

The hype train is truly real (as well as the car)! At long last, I can finally say that I have a Vision Gran Turismo scale model in my possession, regardless of the Norev being the cheapest (and therefore most affordable) of all VGT scale models or not. You can't see it through the monitor, but my expression couldn't be more radiant than what it is now, there is a true sense of joy over me receiving this. It all happened thanks to one of my grandmother's cousins, who asked me if I had anything in particular which I wanted at the time, so I've answered that by giving her the car's name and brand.

And today, I can proudly announce that Alpi over here has become the lastest member of my ever-growing scale modelf family. Thanks, half-French and half-Portuguese cousin of my grandmother. :)👍

Well, I know you and I are the members of the "Alpi VGT" section within the VGT owners club, but who's the third one? I can't remember who it is, but isn't he the one with Spark's absurdly rare VW GTI Roadster VGT model?
Now the race is on, to see who can break the bank first, take a deep dry gulp, and blow his money on a Modeller's VGT model. That's the big goal right now, if you ask me... :lol:

Guess that also proves how affordable the Alpi is; only three people (so far) own VGT scale models, but all of them have at least an Alpine VGT model. The Volks is a whole different story...

In the meantime, I have to say, I'm quite impressed with the fact that Norev went to the trouble of modelling those LCD overlapping screens which make up the car's digital instrumentation. It is a very tiny part, and you really have to squint your eyes to notice it, but it's still something which deserves a heartfelt 👍 in my honest opinion...

Putting it that way, resin is the gold for 1:43 scale models; rare, high-quality and extremely costly to purchase compared to "normal" 1:43 releases... I understand the exclusivity compared to those "normal" models, but holy hell those prices are prices for the true collector.

And if you are on the market for a 1:18 Bugatti VGT, @C_R5_575TLR, don't forget; AUTOart is going to cover that base, and I'm sure their price won't be far off from Looksmart's smaller model...
 
Most places sell LookSmarts for anywhere between $120 USD and $200 for more special ones with fancy bases. Granted, you can find some fairly decent deals for them on Ebay. I think all of my LS models were under $100, or right around $100. I most likely will get the Bugatti VGT myself.
 
Well, it is really a matter of exploiting available offers when they appear, that goes without saying. But for now, only having the stock price available, it's really quite the steep price for a 1:43 model, resin or not... Looksmart will have to impress with their model quality if they want to grab those dollars/British pounds/Euros from peoples' wallets.
 
I know my 5 LookSmarts are very, very impressive little models. Better than pretty much all of my other resins, though BBR and Ignition are very, very close, if not on par. As nice as Sparks are, LS makes them look somewhat crude lol. But then, that is the cost of exclusivity...
Also I am fairly confident the AA 1/18 Bugatti VGT will be somewhere north of $200 USD lol...
 
Hey everybody, sorry for not showing myself for a long time. Busy trying to buy a 1:1 working model of a car :lol:
@Niku Driver HC congrats on the Alpine. It's the details that did it for me, from the tripple screen to the small aereo-piece on the inner rear side.
As for LookSmart models, I've seen some of them in a model shop in Maranello and boy are they amazing. Even more with openable doors & hood.
