Ottomobile announced their January and February releases and I'm pretty excited. I'm looking forward to the regular E36 M3 in 1:18 scale instead of the 1:12 scale released previously. More so though, I'm definitely getting the E28 M5. I've really wanted the AutoArt version, but it's out of production, and any that are on eBay are asking big money. I'm trying to complete in 1:18 scale all the generations of the M5, and the E28 is really the one that's been out of reach price wise. The Otto one will be sealed, but that's good enough for me.

Edit: Went and preordered the NA1 red NSX with white TE37s. If I end up not liking the white wheels, I will not hesitate to paint the wheels of a model of limited quantities.

It seems that the latest VGT scale model has been going through the development phase well enough;



Sadly, according to the comments in the post, Norev is not planning to add the rear spoiler to the model, which is a bit of an odd decision. If you are going to emulate the Alpine VGT Race Model, you shouldn't overlook the rear spoiler, as that is the key defining detail that sets it apart from the normal model. But it doesn't seem that Norev's decision will be changed anytime soon...
 
Hot Lola. I wish GMP would revive their old Can-Am cars with some updates, because I'd buy a Lola T70 Spyder or a McLaren M8.
Also, I have been thinking... I really, really hate AUTOart window boxes. All the straps, cables, and other stuff used to keep the car closed up for shipping is a pain to remove and a pain to put back on if you need to put a model back in a box for whatever reason. There has got to be a better way to secure these models in window boxes. Heck, maybe they should just use foam clamshells for everything....

Alright, time to report AOS for breaking AUP rules, by posting uncensored pornography and not feeling sorry for doing so. :p

I kid, I kid, that thing is beyond handsome. GMP may only have Lola T70 variations in their lineup, but they do know how to make them look good. That engine bay is flawless...

Well, apart from the tires not being tall enough, nothing else is wrong about that one. The two-tone color setup looks nice, all the sponsors are in their right place, and overall accuracy hits the right marks. There is only so much you can do with a design like the Bugatti's in 1:43 size, even if Looksmart uses resin and not diecast metal... And if there is one brand that will get the Bugatti right, it will be AUTOart, mark my words. If they confirm their scale model of the Bugatti, that is.

I share the same pain you feel. It's the worst for older AutoARTs where there is the two side boards but nothing that joins the two at the top. When I'm putting away either one of my Imprezas, the side that goes back in the box first tends to bend inwards basically restricting the rest of the base from going in. Ignitions are bad for this very reason too.

I went on a spree of model car purchases recently, added 5 new 1/18 scale models to my 911 collection:
Autoart 930 Turbo
Autoart 996 Turbo
Autoart 996 GT2
Minichamps 996 GT3 RSR
GT Spirit 993 GT2 Evo

I'll get a picture of all cars together soon, but for now, the GT2 Evo. I've always wanted the UT GT2 Evo, but they cost a fortune without decals. Luckily GT Spirit released one and it arrived today in the mail. It's better than I thought it would be! I have other GT Spirit models, but this one is especially nice (except for a small paint chip under the wing, you can see in the picture :/ )

For sure, this weekend I'll get a bunch more pictures. I am on the fence about the GT Spirit 964 RSR myself. I want it, but I also need to stop spending so much on cars!
 
How do you like it Venom? It's a great model, but there are some little issues that I'm a little disappointed about. The paint chip on mine for one, but also the rear "glass" is poking out on one corner, and the engine lid doesn't sit flush.

I may sound a little picky, but my GT Spirit 964 Carrera RS 3.8 arrived with the wing off (the top part, not the whole wing). Not broken off, but it shouldn't have been loose in the box.

How bad is it warped? Mine came with one of the struts slightly bent inward I think. After I slapped the wing on though, it straightened it up.

I like it as much as my other two 993's from GT Spirit. Mine did have an endplate detached, along with the wiper arm, but i am 100% confident that happened during shipping. Other than that it is fine. I really do wish GT Spirit would box their models better, as in having some padding around the inner box during shipping...
 
The left strut was okay. The right right bent outward so the connection joint where it slots into the wing is about 7mm off. I took a lighter to heat up the strut, but overdid the heat intensity causing a bit of paint to bubble and later flake. I'm currently waiting for the new paint to dry. The strut still isn't straight, but I'll live with it.

Pretty close match on the paint. It was tricky since this model has that aged white with the yellow tint.
