Hopefully this is the right place to ask, but can anyone recommend an F-16 model that is of good quality and a reasonable price? I want to get one for my friend as a Christmas present. I saw some by Tamiya that look great and are within my price range ($50, but I will go up to $60). Would you guys say to go for that or should I keep looking?

Are you looking for completed models or kits? Are you looking for a particular scale or are you basing all your decisions on the price?

Also which exact F-16 are you looking for?

I don't collect planes to be able to tell you if the price is worth it, but you can run your searched on HLJ.com, 1999.co.jp/eng, or even easier, on eBay.

A completed model would probably be the best, considering he doesn't have much free time to build it. As for size, it doesn't really matter. The quality and price are what I'm concerned about. I'm not looking for any particular model of the F-16 either.

While I don't collect a lot of diecast planes, I have ordered from here before: http://www.flyingmule.com/
They have a large selection of diecast planes, mostly in 1/72 scale. Most of the planes I have though are kits, since there isn't a large selection of diecast planes in 1/48 scale, which is my preferred scale for aircraft.

Is that in 1:18 or 1:43? It's impossible to tell from these photographs.

Although surface texture and scale of the mesh can appear 1:43, the source says 1:18, and I can agree to that because the base isn't much longer than the car.

Yeah because I thought "that looks amazing for a 1:43!" Turns out I was wrong...
 
Once walked around that very same GTR at Goodwood a couple of years back to look at the finer details.

That rear wing is gigantic in person... like... airplane wing big. :eek:

I have seen F1 GTR and the P1 road car in person but not the P1 GTR.

That's how I felt about the Lamborghini LP670-4 SV (although, compared to the P1 GTR it's nothing). Not just the wing but the exhaust was so large I could probably fit my damn head in it. :lol:

Crazy to see these cars in person, they're usually pretty ridiculous. In a good way.
 
The FXXK was there too, along with one example of every other XX car Ferrari had produced up to that point. They were beasts to look at (and hear) too.

It was back in 2015 when I saw them, and I think it was the first time that all the XX cars were seen together in the UK. The P1 GTR was making its debut that weekend as well if I remember rightly.

Yeah it's likely the same mold. It's a huge cost-saver for them to reuse a mold than to make a new one. I can only imagine how much their sales will blow up by if they make some Toyota Group-C.

I would buy a 1/18 Toyota Group C in a heartbeat, especially the TS010.
I also wish IG would revive HPI's McLaren F1 GTR mold, since I imagine they got that mold too since they got everything else from HPI iirc.

Just finished browsing ToMo in under 5 minutes.

Will continue to wait on Almost Real.
