Every once in a while, some good older stuff seems to pop back up on CK Modelcars.

Yesterday the 2011 Le Mans winner popped up, instantly got one:

Seems these older Spark models come with a display case now. Not sure if it's a refresh through Spark themselves, or if it's a CK Modelcars deal.

All the re-releases are coming in the new packaging it seems. I need to grab a few of them myself lol
 
Well that's my model car budget blown at the Nürburgring already... but when Maro Engel is sitting right there, I couldn't resist.

OK... now that's the model car budget blown properly now... however, I achieved what I really wanted to achieve - I wanted a model from both the Nürb and Spa, and the obvious one for Spa was last year's winning car, the #007 Comtoyou Aston Martin.

I used all my recent experience to get my way onto the pit lane quickly before the hoards arrived with hundreds of models for the team to sign, and it was just as well, as the pit walk/signing session was cut from 1 hr to only 20 mins max; but luckily my hours of preparation paid off and I got the car signed by all three drivers. Now I am not allowed to buy any more cars until next year...

Our privilege as photographers is that we can just walk into a pitbox with a model and get signatures :D
 
Bburago and Maisto are excellent "budget" brands to start with if you don't want to spend a lot. I've been out of the loop with the current prices of them, but that doesn't seem like bad value to me for a model with opening parts.
 
Amazon should lean more into selling diecast, as the thought of seeing something and getting it next day would really help those of us who live nowhere near a model shop.

The only one I frequent is over a 1000 miles away in Benidorm and I get to go once a year. In 6 weeks, I will be blowing €300 on nothing but cars 😁

I think you can find Bburagos for much cheaper. Amazon loves to gouge buyers on convenience. And because you're in the States, it is so easy finding stuff second-hand:

For me, the key pieces that separate a good brand from a cheaper brand is how well the headlight/tailight covers are made/assembled.

Good god not for $90. Please don't support seller who resell things at such ridiculously marked up prices. They hope ignorant folks will gobble it all up. I'm so tired of people buying things on amazon not knowing of other options.

For $90 you can get yourself a good quality models.

I can only speak for Amazon UK, but the prices for Prime models are about or less than their RRP.

In the case of being in Europe, I wonder how it compares to shop at ck-modelcars.de instead? I shopped from a lot back in the day. International shipping wasn't terrible for me. I imagine it's a solid choice for y'all.
