Ok, well I went to the 3 hobby shops in my town today, and took notes on a post-it sticker on what they had for future reference, I might buy one or two next week. Here's what I found:

The 1/18s:

Focus WRC '02 (bburago)
3328.jpg

Viper GTS blue w/ stipes (bburago)
burago3330.jpg

McLaren F1 LM Concept (guiloy)
glmlllrrrrrr.jpg

Maserati MC12 (hot wheels)
hwmv7158.jpg

Corvette C6 Z06 (hot wheels) in yellow and red
- the new z06, not just the regular C6

Renault F1 2005 F. Alonso (hot wheels)
DH5814.jpg

1/24s

McLaren f1 '88 (not sure) #1 (senna/prost not sure) (bburago)
Countach qv5000 (bburago)

I also saw some other stuff. There was a Shelby Cobra 427 S/C racing livery in blue, looked very nice, and the usual, a 2003 Le mans Corvette C5R, and Skyline GT/PD edition by Autoart. Those 2 were nice.

Anyway, I'm def. gonna get that blue Viper GTS, I've also wanted to have it, and it's really nice. My question is, how good Guiloy? I saw that McLaren F1 LM Concept, it looked pretty damn nice, and I've never seen a McLaren F1 around here and I'm not about to put down $130-$150 for one on Ebay, no way, not gonna happen, so.. yea do any of you know anything about Guiloy?

I also found a Testarossa in 1/12 by Revell, and there was one in 1/24 by Tamiya, looked nice. Many cars by Tamiya there, there was a Niki Lauda F1 Ferrari too.

Anyone know where i can get a die-cast Minolta 88-CV?
there has only been 1:24 Plastic kits(at least when I looked) so I don't think so.

My advice to you is the stay away from Guiloy McF1s. The stance on the F1 LMs are way off. Are you confusing the high eBay prices with those of the UTs? If I were you, I'll go with a UT McF1. Just make sure that there's no problems with it before you open up your wallet as these older models tend to be a little fragile.

Like I said, please read. I am not going to plump down over $100 for any model whatsoever, so the Ebay UT McLaren F1s are out of the question. There's no buts, those cars are absolutely out of the question. I'm not confusing anything, I know the $150 models on eBay are UT ones and those are probably better quality, but it's NOT going to happen. My wallet isn't big as you guys and I can't justify myself that much for a scale model anyway.

look at what I found.

Allow me to explain. In your previous post, you never mention anything about UT McF1s. Read the following:

Anyone would have understood that $130-$150 you were referring to was Guiloy McF1 prices, not UT. And that is why I asked if you were confusing UT prices with Guiloy prices. Rather than telling me "Like I said, please read.", perhaps you should reread your previous post before snapping at me or anyone on the forum; or better yet, proofread your post before posting.

But I digress. No one has yet replied to you about your question and I thought maybe I would help you out. I was merely pointing out to you what my opinion is on the Guiloy; because you've asked. I think I deserve a little better than the appreciation, currently there's lack thereof, shown to me so far; keep in mind that I did post Minichamps pics as you've requested a few pages back.

Going back on topic, I understand and appreciate the fact that everyone has their budgets on 1/18s. It is pretty much an universal opinion that Guiloys are more toy-like rather than a collector's item. Although, UTs can't compare to the standards of models that are made today either. Sure, there are those UT McF1s that are fetching $100+ on eBay. BUT there are a bunch of UT McF1s that doesn't even come close to that price; it all boils down to which particular one you're looking for.

And for the record, I have nothing against anyone that collects budget models. If Guiloy is what you like, go for it. Collect whatever that floats your boat. 👍

Well I like hearing your opinion. But really I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with Guiloy. I don't wanna get a model that's gonna break or anything. $60cad is also a considerable amount of money for me.

I think that after all, I might not buy it. The next weekend when I go to that hobby shop with the Viper GTS, the McLaren F1 and the Senna 1/24 by Bburago, I'm gonna have to decide between da Viper and the McLaren. I guess I'll just take a really good look at that Guiloy McF1 and decide whether it's worth $60 or not, as for that much money, I could get the Viper and have $20 left over, or I could another Hot Wheels Formula 1 car (and for my collection so far, the Hot Wheels F1 cars would be the best quality, maybe when I get that C5R or the Skyline GT4 for Xmas by Autoart, that'll be better q.).

One sweet model.

Got a new car today.

Dodge Viper GTS Coupe 1/18 by Bburago

Here are some pictures of it alongside my Dodge Viper RT/10 by Bburago that I received as a present from my godmother like 8 years ago I think. I like both cars very much. Bburago may not make the most detailed models, but the Viper RT/10 has a lot of significance for me and I've always wanted the counterpart coupe in that nice blue w/ stripes finish.

I've been eyeing those Schumacher Ferrari F1 models by Hot Wheels for like three months now. Might get one next month maybe, along with a Skyline GT4 edition by Autoart for Xmas maybe.

which company to you guys makes the best GT40, Beanstalk or GMP?

i disagree with that! if u find an original gmp gt40 it'll set u back a hell of a lot, more detailed than autoart and tahts saying something! gmp are on par with LANE but will never be as good as exoto!

edit: just realised something when u said GT40 do u mean the 60's old skool beast or the new supercar which is actually just called the GT?

if u want the GT get Autoart. But if u want a GT40 go GMP, or if u have the paper its off to EXOTO baby!!

damn it! edit #5: ive actually got the beanstalk GT and its a pretty good model, mind you most people dont know that it was built by Minichamps for the Beanstalk group for Ford! so yeah its basically Minichamps or AutoArt which is a very tough choice lol

Everyone should be aware that AA is a production version of the Ford GT and the Beanstalk is a concept. The AA is terrific but the engine is not on par with their Millenium line. The Beanstalk looks good on the outside; just don't look into the interior. :sly: Price is also a factor of course, so take your pick. 👍

There's a member on UltimatecarPage.com forums that was getting rid of his collection to make room for more of his Ferrari Collection so I traded him a red Ferrari 456 and $10 for his Chaimberlain and a Hotwheels Black Viper SRT-10. The part that sucks is he didn't ship it with the care it should've recieved, so stuff was pretty beat up on the Chaimberlain. Luckily... Amazingly, there wasn't as much body damage and there could have been but all the fragile stuff broke off. I've fixed it so it's not that visible. The only thing that was wrong with it before the shipping damage was the passenger side door was broken. After telling him what happened he refunded me the $10. I'm sad about the model but it still looks good IMO so that's that. I suppose I could try to sell it and try to get a nicer, newer one but I don't know if I want to go though all the headache to do it. :guilty:
