twistedspoon, do you dust ALL the cars you have? Haha I couldn't dust my 40 cars because it would take me so much time : you got to have patience! 👍

twistedspoon, do you know anything about the 5000S Countach from AUTOart? Any flaws I need to check before buying? :)
I don't have to dust all my models; most of them are in their boxes simply because I've ran out of room to display them. I have about 40 cars out on display right now and I do dust them whenever I can.

I don't have the Countach and I haven't heard much about that model. To tell you the truth, I'm not much of a Lamborghini fan since I only hae the Gallardo and the Murcielago.

I got that Maserati MC12 a few days ago. (notice the plastic paper...:))
I forgot to say that there are some plastics that would react to the paint of the mdoels. I heard horror stories of a collector trying to protect their models by wrapping them in bubble wrap. To his dismay, the bubble wrap melted/stained all of the paint on his models. And no matter how hard his tried to clean it and polish them, the stains couldn't be removed.

Same can be said about the styrofoam boxes that some higher end models come with; the styrofoam will react to the paint and tires of the models. That is why the manufacturers wrap the models in tissue paper when they package them.

I'm not saying that the particular plastic you've covered your models with would ruin your models but do be beware of the hazards of what you wrap them up with. Cheers. 👍

I bought my first AUTOart car 2 weeks ago. I went to one of the local hobby shops, and got the Nissan Skyline R34 GT4 Edition.

It's a very beatiful car and the model is fantastic. I like the Skyline R34, and I thought why not get the GT4 one, as I really like the overall look of it. I'll post some pics of it as soon as I get my exams over on Tuesday.
I also have this model and just to give you a headsup, this models is covered with decals (not tampos). So be careful when you clean this one because I've chipped some of the decals of the hood when I dusted it back in the days when I didn't know how to take care of my models. :ill:

Gotta say I prefer the Camaro in blue, the colour looks nicer. But then blue I find seems to work with old muscle cars, my 69 Vette Stingray convertable is in blue and I love it! Needs dusting though. lol :dopey:

Anyone seen any Veyron Diecast Model Cars, plus if you have. I must be able to buy it for english pounds.

oh you mean like this one? :sly:

Mines made by Revell and is pretty good quality i must say. its the only Revell model i have but i want to look into getting another as i think they tend to specialise in american muscle cars like ertl do.

Well, I've recieve two of the three new Vipers that I found and I'm not sure if the third will be arriving anytime soon so here's they are. :D

I had a Viper GTS when I was younger; red w/ white stripes. But it got smashed up.

I had a McLaren F1 but I didn't think all that much of the car at the time so I took it apart and used the wheels for a modified Viper GTS-R GT2 project car.

yeah mines the revell one exactly the same. lol :dopey:

Does anybody know if AutoArt or another top manufacturer produced a model of the Ferrari F40? I have Bburago version with a dodgy wheel and I'd love to get a better quality version because I love the F40

I believe Mattel and the now bankrupted bBurago had made 1/18s F40s.
I'd only hope that BBR would come in and make more high end Ferraris since the Enzo and 250GT SWB was very well made. đź’ˇ

I've finally got my hands on mine after weeks of waiting. I really like the fabric tow hook, the functional latches, the netting on the driver side door and the HID looking headlights. Pricey, but I like it. ;D

I guess u can say I collect mostly Import cars. Out of all of my cars, I think the Auto Art cars are the best quality cars. U get wut u paid for. I got pictures of all my cars.

Twistedspoon, that is amazing, very very nice.

Quick question, where do you guys buy these high end models, like that Mini, and other really detailed models?

Woohoo! I got an AUTOart 1968 Mustang GT390 "Bullitt"! Awesome detail, and flawless finish (Except for one scuff on the hood, I think caused when the store that handled it opened it). My second AUTOart to-date. I'll have to go out and buy a couple single-cases in the next couple days.

for christmas i got a yat-ming 1968 mustang gt500kr in silver with dark grey stripes. also got an AutoArt plexiglas case with wooden base for my 68 camaro 396 :D will upload pics later if i get round to it

Ashley.

Thanks Ashley. The Red Nose Day Mini is a dealer exclusive 1/18 found in only Europe. The Mini isn't cheap, $160 CAD shipped.

I buy whatever I can locally because it is usually cheaper and so I get a chance to inspect for flaws and damages before I put my money down for it. I only use the internet to buy models that can't be bought locally. :)

eBay.ca, Modelissimo.de and scale18.com

The Autoart Mazda 787B has arrived! Actually, I've had it for a week now. :dopey:
Hopefully that means I'll get mine soon. It's been ordered for ages.

Looking very nice indeed, twistedspoon! The Mazda is a must have, especially for you I guess :)

I'll have to tease you with my latest investment...

Currently awaiting another car. Will post more pictures when that arrives.
