First up is a pair of slipmats from artists Victoria Topping who is the artist in residence at On The Corner Records. Nice little personal Thank You note too.

Then one set I’ve been waiting in since April. The massive 8 hours long 12 record box from Autechre on Warp Records.

A new lathe cut on thick clear acetate.

The 2 tracks are from a group called “Dengue Dengue Dengue”. Excellent tribal/world electronic music.

On my favourite lable “On The Corner Records”

Edit-

Two more added. First up is a 7” lathe cut from Polytechnic Youth featuring tracks by Dream Division. The album/soundtrack these are taken from is Vulture. Synth overload as usual. (I’ve also ordered the tape as this features all 6 tracks compared to 3 on the wax)

Next is another synth LP, this time a lot more relaxed and subdued. A reall quality late night chill LP. Lable is Burning Witches Records and artist is Die Hexen.

Well after the Tony Kofi CD (see what music did you buy thread) this new wax from Burning Witches label dropped.

Daniel Davies is a collaborator with the master of horror synth music John Carpenter and gave JC a hand on the new Halloween score. However this is Daniel Davies first solo effort and it’s brill. If you love synth soundtracks from the 70s & 80s then you’ll love this.

Well as you can see it's been a quite expensive month, especially now cassettes are looking very appealing :ill:

Collapse is brill. Also the 65 Days Of Static LP for No Mans Sky is a really great album too.

A few new ones for me too.

After years of waiting on the next LP after a great debut. They finally released “Dark All Day” and it was worth it.

One of the best Gospal Jazz albums I’ve ever heard.

Black Friday RSD Comic & 7” from Czarface Hip Hop trio.

What’s that you say? Another Record?

Well yes it is :D

A rather expensive one too. 3LP of Jazz pressed by RTI.

And 2018 isn’t quite over yet...

I’m a huge fan of On The Corner Records and the Wax they put out. I picked up a 2018 repress of Instead by Jazz ensemble Collocutor. Why a repress, well because an OG goes for over £100 for a 5 track LP. There is also a gold screen print edition of 40 copies but these go for around £600+!!!!!

I got the repress for £15 and since it came out they are now up on Discogs for £80+!! It’s a great Jazz LP but that’s mad money.

I also bagged a copy of Planet Battagon’s EP, Battagon Symphony.

Some more recent additions.

First is a awesome 7” from Thundercat for the Japanese market and didn’t get a wide release anywhere else. Recently Brainfeeder Records took over Bleep.com and this was one of the very limited items. I managed to snag one before they sold out. It’s a little beaut and has an interesting holographic foil print.

B60AA3AD-74A6-40BD-BAE6-F376D535B34C.jpeg

Next is a cracking 2 track Dub Plate from On The Corner Records. It’s an acetate 10”.

AABBC041-E7BF-4B80-9C43-AB1A937A2A1F.jpeg

This one is a bit of an odd record. As some of you may know I collect Ondekoza (Japanese Drumming Group) Records when I can find them in good and complete condition. This was picked up directly from Japan via Discogs and bought for me by my Fiancée. This record is a genre crossing mashup of Ondekoza and the Down Town Boogie Woogie Band. It’s brill.

I wanted this album enough to risk having it shipped (I get nervous about ordering vinyl online). Thankfully it managed to arrive in 1 piece!

I made my monthly visit to the record store.

Albert King - Born Under a Bad Sign (easily one of my favorite albums of all time)
Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Blue Oyster Cult - Tyranny and Mutation
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
Eric Clapton - Journeyman

George Harrison and Phil Collins appear on Journeyman.

:)

Edit: Ooohh, forgot about Daryl Hall on "No Alibis".

I can't seem to remove that stupid Photobucket logo where all my pictures are hosted. I started out with a used Sony PS-X5 direct-drive which seemed to work on manual but the automatic functions were broken. A co-worker of mine found it at a garage sale for $10. I ended up buying the Audio Technica LP1240-USB about a year later. It's a decent table, not a Technics or anything but it works. Looking back still wish I would have waited and gotten the Audio Technica AT-LP3 or some other automatic one like that.

Some more delivered and I’ll be picking up some more records today/tomorrow.

Early contender for my LP of the year. Some brilliant Jazz.

Been a while since I bought any records, actually the last one I got was Blade Runner 2049 which was a birthday present from last year, so almost a year since my last one.

It's nothing too special and it's quite unusual by my taste but I do enjoy it:

Picked up the new Czarface LP “Czarface Meets Ghostface” a really good album, especially compared to the last few.
