Wear headphones and listen to your own music.

I'll be with my girlfriend, dunno how pleased she'd be with that

Ya she probably wouldn't like that. Anyways I'm still going strong, but I probably just jinxed myself.

When I was returning stock at work I heard the radio and I was nearly whammed by being their even though WHAM wasn't playing I just felt unsafe being able to hear the radio, so I quickly put the stock back on the shelve and went back into my tech dept hole where I hear the so sweet noise of "Ring Ring Ring Ring" from the 3 phones.

We just had a power fuse! The lights all went out and the PC turned off. I expect it's the Whammists! Every country participating has a group of them, and they try to Wham people! I'm scared!

God send wham to him.
In waves he will not expect.

Unfortunately I have my phone with me every time so that means I get to listen to deadmau5 to prevent being whammed. :P But we'll see if luck has been kind. We'll just see. :mischievous:

Not only have I avoided Wham so far, but I have avoided all christmas caroles/songs so far!

Shaping up to be a good season

The list has been updated but I'm still on it? I would love to try and say I'm still in this, but by virtue of being hit twice in the space of 24 hours I REALLY deserve to be out!

I just nearly Whammed myself...

I though I'd have a bit of Chrimbo music, and I recalled I had a CD in my car of Chrimbo stuff from a couple of years since - but it had Wham on it. Great idea - rip the CD, reauthor, no Wham. Of course, listening to the tracks first would be a dumb idea, right?

I got to 4 before I realised. It turned out Wham was at 7... Phew!

I've now completed my Wham avoidance CD. You won't find a better non-Wham Christmas CD... anywhere.

1. Wombling Merry Christmas (The Wombles)
2. White Christmas (Bing Crosby)
3. In Dulce Jubilo (Mike Oldfield)
4. Driving Home for Christmas (Chris Rea)
5. Merry Christmas Everybody (Slade)
6. Stop the Cavalry (Jona Lewie)
7. Wonderful Christmastime (Paul McCartney & Wings)
8. I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day (Wizzard)
9. Christmas Wrapping (The Waitresses)
10. Let it Snow! (Dean Martin)
11. Step Into Christmas (Elton John)
12. Happy Christmas (John Lennon & Yoko Ono)
13. 2000 Miles (The Pretenders)
14. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (Jackson Five)
15. Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree (Mel & Kim)
16. Fairytale of New York (The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl)
17. Santa Baby (Eartha Kitt)
18. The Christmas Song (Nat King Cole)
19. It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (Andy Williams)

I've got a little space on the end there and I'm tempted by Gaudete (Steeleye Span), but that's just me... Do your worst, Georgios Kyriacos Panagiotou!

Hey, you've missed off East 17 and more recent Xmas no.1's like 'Killing in the name of'. :P

I ran over the East 17 one. In Brian Harvey's car.

Incidentally, Wombling Merry Christmas is due a download release on December 11th... Let's make it Christmas number 1!

That's an awesome plan. Although anything other than a Simon Cowell jelly mould act would do. Perhaps we could get GTP sponsored Womble dolls.

Is Bernard Cribbins still alive?

since i work retail i can not win against Wham. instead i play my own version where i try and avoid said song outside of work, which is hard because my wife loves that song....

so far..... i'm winning!

Curious to see if I can make it to 2012 without hearing it. It's in my Winamp library which is always playing randomly, so there's always a chance.

I got whamed today in sainsbury's. Well it sounded like the original anyway.

This thread made me terrified (and not merely because of TB's antics - though that didn't help. What cheered me up was that I always thought my phobia for the song was unique.

Anyway . . . I didn't enter because I was sure to lose. I live a music-heavy lifestyle and I was doomed. But, ironically - it was me that whammed myself. I happened to DJ a kids' Christmas Party over the weekend, and I carelessly grabbed a ripped CD of carols from my collection, threw it in -- and WHAM!!! First song!

I'm screaming, "Damn!! I got whammed! Damn! Damn! Bloody Hell!!!"

Needless to say the rest of the room was silent and staring. I fled for half an hour.
