...Is it not detrimental running the 6 speed as a 5?

Well, the C30 is a 5 speed to begin with. And it doesn't even go beyond a few hundred RPM in 5th before needing to slow again.

Edit: And stop changing the tune, brakes are 5/7 not 5/8, and ride height is 0/-20 not +2/-20.

Yes but judging from what you told me about not enough rotation under braking... :p

And is it? :odd: I remember it being a 6-speed... Oh well.

Preliminary Clio tune is on share - Drive it if you dare..It's actually a very competent car - I think it needs more slip though, way too hard to break the rear tires.

Car: Matte Orange
Wheels: Touge (AMG Matte Grey - SLS chip)

Ok now , here is the same tune with a custom 5 gears trans updated. It's a tranny trick.
Final gear full right
top speed mini full left
ratios
final gear again.

Well, we'll go with the guess tune then, since it's the tuner who calls the shots.

Nope, 5 speed. Now 5 speed with overdrive.

And Mat, I've got my car. Put me down with a Impreza STi Type C '04.

well, I was gonna put in my tune today but I've been out all day getting supplies, food and water in preparation for the hurricane that will be ravaging the Eastern Seaboard. I got home, took some pics of my car but I wont put the setup in until tomorrow because im so friggin tired.

Have anyone had a chance to try my Civic tune, please let me know if it's okay online, am I allowed to alter my tune Mat if the civic turn out to be a turd online ? I do have time until deadline right ? I can't get online at the moment :(

I'd PM someone like Newdriver or even Mat himself to get him to test for you. 👍

You love making us wait, don't you? And you did see my previous post where I mentioned my car, right? Now update the OP accordingly. :p

 I'm in the middle of exams. :grumpy:

Anyway, the video of the FC and MR2 has been recorded, the reviews are done, all I need are pics and they're ready to go! :)

Oh, and your entry has been added to the OP. lol

Well still working on my 300HP class car, but thought a recommendation for the next class might be in order. Instead of jumping straight to cars with 700-1000hp from 300hp how about doing a 400hp class, 500hp class, 600hp class and then a whatever class.
Not sure how the online touge community sets up their races, but think breaking things up in 100hp increments would produce a greater number and variety of good tunes.

Having a class of drive train allocated for a number of tune is also a good idea, say 2 tunes each for FF, FR, MR, RR, and 4WD. If there's no car for FF above 400hp, we can allocate the tune to FR or 4WD :O

you won't have 1000 horsepower cars if people still stick tot he rule saying ONLY PROPER TOUGE CARS allowed. That's for Mat to judge, with input from us as well as to what's fair.

Besides, for those cars, there should be a limit to engine tuning perhaps, or not. that's up for discussion i guess.

All I can say is that your car can only go as fast as your tires will allow, so there's no point in having any more tan 600 horsepower, since you wont even be able to use it all on this tight, hairpin-filled course.

700+ HP YellowBird of Major Win - FTW?

@SolidSnake don't have the specs currently but pretty sure some of the GT-Rs can get over 900hp...As for "proper touge car" I'd say any car that was built and sold as a street legal car should be acceptable with the only possible exceptions being one off cars like the R390 and limited "production" cars that were built and sold strictly for homulagation purposes for some racing series like the RS200.

I wanna see you try that lol

but as i said, you can only go as fast as your tires permit... and a 900hp R35 might be fast on paper, but at Eiger, you won't be able to use that power in the 5 hairpins, maybe on the curves before and after the big hairpin.. But if you even think of flooring it through the hairpins, you'll have an appointment with the concrete wall, or the side of the mountain lol.

At 5000RPM's through the hairpins, you might only be using 4-500 of those 900 horses

While I agree that tires are going to play a limiting factor in how fast cars will corner, the higher HP cars will most likely accelerate and reach much higher speeds between those corners. The cars I'm looking at for the 300hp class are running nearly identical speeds in the hairpin corners as my 200hp X4, but they are also running much faster speeds between the corners so the cars are a second to 1 1/2 seconds faster getting to the second checkpoint.

True, but at also weight will be a major deciding factor in these corners to make up the time that these horsepower behemoths steal in the straights. That being said, if being judged solely on driving feel, we'll see how Mat feels about having to censor all that horsepower just to get it going round corners

Don't tempt me. I've been working on a ballast free YB setup for the Nordschleife that's 95% done. It does only run 462HP but I think I can scale it up :)

That sounds swell, but Eiger isn't the Nordschleife. You won't reach speeds necessary to garner enough downforce in these tight hairpins, and the switchback sections won't play well with the rear-engine layout. Just warning you, but to each his own, and you're entitled to you car choice.

RR? No problem. RGT at ~380HP for the MAX class.
