If it gave you the option to and it didn't change on the car it would be a glitch, but since it doesn't even give you an option, no.

But remember the GTR R35 TC? You couldn't change the number on that car. Also the Dodge Challenger SRT8 TC doesn't have the LSD.

And if all cars that have a similar number template can have their numbers changed, like RM'ed and Stealtch cars, but this one doesn't?

Don't know if it can be called a glitch, but the car certainly lacks said minor function and I can't see why, given that it has the same black number on white square, with the same font as the other cars that can have their numbers changed.

I suppose. But like you said minor. I honestly forget to change mine most the time so it doesn't effect me much xD

Well, if PD are oh so perfectionist as they shout everytime, why not making even the tiny little details work? I want this GT-R to look like the one I got from my collectors edition, but because of this little detail it doesn't.

I'd just cut them a break. It's the same car, just a number. You could always white-out the number on yours and paint a 1 💡 They probably have a lot on their plates right now, getting ready for the new DLCs might be their first priority before this.

This is not an error in the programming, so it is not a glitch. However, it may be an oversight, thought i fail to see why this matters.

It would be a glitch if the number change menu showed up, but nothing changed.

Video game glitches

In video games, a glitch is a programming error which results in behavior not intended by the programmers. Glitches may include incorrectly displayed graphics, collision detection errors, game freezes/crashes, sound issues, and others. Some glitches are potentially dangerous to the game save data.

Why is it when people can't change something in a game that wasn't programmed to be changed they automatically assume it's a glitch?

The number on that car is unchangeable because it wasn't programmed to be changed .

Glitch ? Nope .
Something you would like to edit but can't ? Yes . :)👍

Its the 1:64 scale model car that North America got with the Collectors Edition. The thing that confuses me is that the model car has a gran turismo font "5" on it while this new car has a boring, uneditable 1 on it. I don't think PD intended for us not to be able to edit the number so it could look like the collectors edition car.

No disrespect, but couldn't it be that they just did not care about it?

Well I don't think PD would ever release anything that they don't care about. I'm confused why the 5 wasn't on the car to begin with because if they REALLY didn't care about it, they would have just taken the design from the model car (they have to have the livery they created for it somewhere on their computers) and just slapped it on the 09' GTR V-Spec in the game and called it good. I can't see any reason why they would want a number 1 on a car other than the fact that it will be editable by whoever owns it, so Im guessing it could be a mistake that they made while doing their complicated computer stuff to get an editable number on the car. The GT-R TC is having this same issue too.

Ecxept they did. They copy pasted the GT Academy Version and then added the fanboi-baiting paintjob, making sure that, unlike the stock car, we now CANNOT paint it OR add aerodynamic aids, and it retains the exact power, weight and tuning stuff from the original and GT Academy. Therefore this GT Academy SPECIAL version is just a little bit bit special needs...

No This Paint job. Its from the 1:64 scale Die cast model car North America got with the collectors edition.

Yup, I'm dissapointed that the number isn't 5 and that the brake calipers aren't yellow/gold.

When they promoted the event/prize they said that the car was exactly like the die-cast from the colletor's edition.. where obviously.. it's not.

I'm not losing any sleep over it, but it seems like something PD shouldn't have overlooked.

Seems like a fickle complaint. Im just glad new cars are being released a year after release. I suppose im just not as hardcore about details as others.

You are missing the point. Remember the R35 TC and how you couldn't change the number? Then they patched it and you could.
