I hear taht the engine sounds are really good. But my mom and dad banned me from downloading anything on her computer becuase now there are many viruses, who woulda thought... Anyway, can some one get a wave of the cars or anything like that. PLEASE.

With all the aids on in GTR it's simialr to GT4:P, but you never apply maximum power when accelerating in GT and that makes it an awful lot easier to control the cars. As I said, the performance of the cars in GT is spot on, you only have to look at thoes real lap and ingame lap time comparisons to see that but it's like driving with traction control all the time even with traction control switched off. I don't mind that though, I use my PC for hardcore racing simes like Live for Speed and soon GTR but Gran Turismo s much more acessible than thoes and I like it the way it is.

Don't be fooled Gran Turismo is a Sim, it's just not as hardcore as you get on PC's where theres ore of a market for thoes games.

well i have it.. and for some reason, i can't accelerate over 80 mph. whatever peripheral i use... really wierd.

to me, its 'Over-simulation' as it requires too much keys to control properly... but its still nice.

+ Very intuitive controller setup options - too bad Windows only supports analogue on sticks - using X for acceleration and square for brake didn't get me anywhere (read: plain sucks) so i used both sticks for control. Handling seems very realistic - comes second only to GT and even that marginally (lack of deep feel of central gravity and weight transfer during certain situations) - but that's still superb for a beta. The way cars feel is very real and loose - well i only tried the Simulation mode with a Dual Shock 2 - during weekend i'll probably try it with Driving Force to get the real feel.
Handling: 9/10
Controls: 9/10 (i take ur word it's good with a wheel)

+ Sound was really really good (with Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones) this wr00m'n'r44wr went nicely thru my brain creating this rush and excitement. Soundtrack of that demo was also superb - above any GT imo ^_^
Sound: 10/10

+ Graphics were... easy on ppl with lesser hardware - watching with FRAPS, my 9600Pro (2.6GHz 1GB RAM) running 1152x864@100Hz with everything set on max and 6xFSAA didn't drop below 50fps - so it was more or less pretty smooth experience. Graphical quality however was only "ok" imo... which means: for me it was pretty unimpressive (though i don't play games for graphics) - it might be the fault of this tracks' location - maybe some urban track will look better. Plus crashes and car deformation was pretty medicore compared to TRD2.
Graphics: 6/10

+ Overall score for demo by me: 8.5/10

PS: hey cobragt - notice the backround is a single simple bitmap that's merged with the sky - makes u wonder doesn't it?

Ok, I have spent 2 hours on this thing with my old logitech wheel and all I can say is, it's just abit harder than gt4p. That's all. To tell you the truth, I dont see alot of difference in the demo and gt4p, just GTR is abit harder, you can't accelerate like you want, I spinned out of control about 2 times coming out the garage  But overall, it is hard core but I think gt4p is also hardcore but I think some of us kind of stretched the truth :O

GT is not considered hardcore, it sacrifices the realism GTR offers for it to be more acessible and playble on a console. The second a game does that, it isn't a hardcore sim. I've spent a while on it usiong the GT Force Pro and I can notice quite a difference in handling, maybe the wheel has a say in that, I've never used the old Logitech one. And your not the only one who spun exiting the garage lol.

LOL, I love it though. Really, the only difference I can put my finger on is the acceleration. I'm not being biased to gt4 now, dont get me wrong or anything. As for handling on the track, taking turns and what not, I think the demos are = but that's my opinion :D I really dont think it's all that hardcore, when compared to gt4p. Live, what do you think of race legends?

Fair enough. Have you got the hang of that pit exit yet though ;) .

I've pressed "L" every single which way you can press "L" and it still refuses to go more than 78 mph!!! It really looks like a rad game though, if I could just go a little faster!

you're not the first to say that, i even did...................AND THAT WAS THE FIRST POST........read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, GT4 sounds are crap compared to GTR sounds ;)

I'm impressed... haven't tried indepth though. Where did all these games come from like LFS and Racer?? Why can't GT and all the other car games look this good? except GT4 I'd imagine? 👍

Racer and LFS are onlinegames...............LFS is retailed via the internet..........GTR however will be sold in shops.
By the way, racer and LFS aren't really new..........they're about a year old :) .....but sill fun to play :D

PLEASE PASTE YOUR LAPTIME WITH THE LISTER STORM ON SPA HERE SO WE CAN SEE WHO IS THE FASTEST GT MEMBER!!!!

Umm, could someone help me please? When do you press "L" to raise the speed limiter? And is that just the plain old "L" key on the keyboard? I'm using an axis pro (DS2-like) controller.

What does that have to do with anything? This is the GT4 forum. This game isnt GT4 so it doesnt belong here. Simple as that.

I am getting so angry!!!!  I found the button that lets the AI take control and the limiter goes away. But then as soon as I retake control, there it f@#$&g is again!!! :banghead:
WHy won't it turn off??? I've even resorted to wildly mashing every key to see if that does anything. I really want to try this game out but its really pissing me off.....

One of your GT4 pics is a bit out of place since it's a photoshopped pic from a Race driver 2 screen that was posted here a while ago.

Go into options and then control's, look for the control for rev limiter toggle on/off and set a free key to that control then as you are leaving the pit's press whatever button you've chosen and you'll be okay.

Thanks dude, I got it figured out now. Um, maybe its just me, but does anyone else have a tendency to spin out..........all the time? The car is nearly undrivable! Thats what I get for having no analog control of the accelerator I guess.

Put anti wheelspin on high in the gameplay options, it's the only way to make it work well without analogue.

I get the feeling the percentage of people with ADD is pretty high in here.

The rev limiter can be assigned to any key or button in the controller setup screens...

I love this demo and drive it without any driving aids. This game is going to rock. :)

Edit: By the way, I think there is always only one person to say that a game, sim or car is easy to drive and handle around the track: The one with the lap record. Everybody else can go back to hotlapping, as he's obviously not pushing it if someone else is still faster, so he might not have entered the "hard" area yet.
