Guys, I might have a problem.

Whenever I race for more than five, six laps, my engine seems to lose power. I don't know if it's me overrevving the engine, or my DFP acting up. It's hardly noticable when racing, but my laptimes go down with a minimum of two seconds.
I think it's my DFP, but I thought I'd share this with you guys and see what you think.

Does anyone have similar problems? Thanks in advance for helping.

It could be you're tyres wearing, if you use softs it will have a noticable effect, mediums should last 6 laps or so, hards last more, it depends on you're settings, but try racing with hard tyres. I doubt it's you're DFP if it happens at a certain point or distance in a race.

so... what do you guys who own LFS and GTR think of the new GTR cars in lfs? I havent tried em yet cus i'm getting pc problems.

Not go LFS S2 or the new GTR cars yet, my credit cards maxed out at the mo.

Anybody else having problem with MC12 sounds?

I have a 5.1 system, and when I'm in cockpit view, sound only comes from the right channel, and when I look back, sound comes from the left channel. Irritating...

Is this a known bug or is my system acting up?

I got it in mine, I had to download the model seperate from the GT 2005 mod to get it to work though.

Hello everybody. I'm thinking of getting GTR FIA GT Racing later this year (probably for Christmas). From what I read in IGN's review of the game, the AI is much better than it is in GT4 :) . And that's all I want from it. AI that will push you hard and give you a good race.

So here's my question: To what extent will I have to upgrade my PC? What I have is a 3-year old Dell Dimension 2400 with a 2.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 Processor, 256MB RAM, Windows XP Service Pack 1 and DirectX 9.0c. Do I just need to upgrade memory to 512MB RAM, or do I need to add other stuff like GPUs?

And another reason why I want to buy this game is because I have a Momo Racing Force Feedback wheel (Black) that doesn't work with GT3 or GT4. And I really want to use it in a Racing Sim like GTR.

The Momo from Logitech works. Or it did for me during the Spa 24 Hours.

Yeah, the AI is much better than GT4. I just got the full game of gtr and i'm struggling to keep up with the AI on the hardest difficulty. :) I reccomend getting something more powerfull than a 9800PRO 256mb. maybe one of the newer Nvidia or ATi cards. Spend at least 180 bucks on a new card and you will be fine. I reccomend at least 1 gig of ram also.

THe AI seem realy good to me. But sometimes they are too nice on the :"realistic setting" I havent tried the other AI behavior settings yet.

Once when my brother was driving on the Nurburgring about to dive into the Karusel, One of the AI drivers in a Lamborghini just passed him. it was probably one of the most amazing passes i've ever seen. :) My bro was driving a gt2 class car i think. I think i heard rumors that GTR 2 was coming out soon though....

Hmm. At least one gig of RAM and a GPU? :nervous: I doubt my dad will be able to afford anything other than an increase to 512MB RAM. Sigh...

You'l need a GPU with at least 128MB on board, they can be had for around £100-£150 for a good one, you could go all out and spend £200+ for a top of the range card but you won't need that for GTR. The extra memory shouldn't be too expensive though, it's really the GPU thats going to cost, the game can be had for about £16 including delivery from Amazon.

You can get a gig pc3200 ram for like 90 bucks.

I use 270° steering lock for the DFP. I set up the ffb to be better than default, but it still doesnt feel perfect it feels pretty good and i get more detailed feedback than default. here are my settings.

In the profiler:
135% Effect strength
96% spring rate
98% damper rate
0% center spring
271° steering lock
.........................................
I use 70% force feedback for ingame settings.
Here are my PLR settings. Just change gabkicks to yourname.plr ...or copy out my ffb settings from the file and paste em over yours, then save.
i got the ffb settings from here

Is it plugged in? :dopey:
Yes, the DFP is plugged in with the pedals and that are plugged in. After my 1st try, I thought of putting the pedals' wire into the computer, but that didn't work since there wasn't a port for it.

Everything works but those pedals. I even have the latest Logitech drivers.

do they work in other games? if not. unplug the wheel, uninstall the profiler, use the driver/callibration cleaner software found on www.wingmanteam.com. and then reinstall everything.

I really love driving the gt class viper. it is very fast and the engine sounds awsome :) but with all that torque it is very easy to spin. i think it has over 800lb.ft of torque. I hope gt5 has the same quality audio. The audio in GTR is simply amazing.. couldnt ask for better.

Even though the "Logitech Driving Force Pro" is highlited in the Controller page, you still have to set the "Buttons" for Acceleration and Braking. Just double click on the setting for Acceleration, under the "Driving" tab, and when you're prompted for which "Button" you want to use, press down on the accelerator. Do the same for the Brake. It's just like any other PC game and it allows you to use all the wheel's buttons for whatever game feature you choose.

Again, to get the DFP's Force Feedback to work, I downloaded the "PC" drivers for the MOMO FORCE wheel from Logitech. Now if I can just fix the stuttering problem...

Do you guys think I'll be able to run GTR properly?
3.0 Ghz P4
512 Mb RAM
Nvidia geforce fx go5700

your videocard is not too good... you can run it on medium-low settings probably also, i'd reccomend another 512 stick or RAM

I built up my new box (last night/early this morning) with the following specs:

- AMD Athlon64 3000+ (1.8Ghz) Socket 939 w/2000mHz FSB
- 1 Gig RAM
- nVidia 6200 w/Turbo Cache 64MB PCI-e Video card, supporting 256MB from system ($65)
- 430W power supply (with SATA and PCIe support)
- my old ATA-100 hard drive
- my old case

Results, I ran every video setting on "High" and enabled all the extra features (i.e. mirrors, vertex damage, swaying trees, etc.) and ran perfectly smooth with 35 cars on track. I couldn't find a race that would get all 56 or so on at the same time as I didn't have any time this morning. Maybe the 24hour SPA race will allow all the cars on at once.

After reading a few posts on other boards, I was worried that this card wouldn't be able to handle it, but I had no stuttering or freezing over an hours worth of driving. I figured I'd have to pick up at least a $300 video
card just to get this game to run, based on what many people were posting. But I basically upgraded my whole PC for less than $500, and the game runs fine.

i wouldnt go lower than a 6600 gt 256 or 128mb. and a gig of ram at least. i am not rich.. but with a 6600 gt will last years more than a 6200. 👍 and you need at least a gig of ram. I amreally a ATi fan, since they cheat less than Nvidia, but i am thinking about switching to Nvidia since Sony's ps3 has. :)

Well, I actually ordered the 6200, then read more posts...wound up ordering a 6600 GT w/128MB onboard mem. for $250 (still waiting for it to ship, but will probably send it back). I don't have a monitor with DVI, so I'm sort of handcuffed with anything above 6600 and 128MB. Everything in that range is "Dual DVI", and I really didn't want to spen that much, along with another $250-$300 for a DVI monitor, just to play a $20 game. :)

My motherboard is straight, as it supports SLI, which I'll eventually setup once the 6800s or 7800s come down in price. The board also supports SATA-II and the AMD FX processors, so I'll be good for a while. GTR is the only PC game that I play, so the $65 card will do fine for now.
