I don't use a manual clutch, it wouldn't feel right anyway, as someone said before the clutch is only used to leave the pits and to stop or start.

Yeah but, remember I also said -

"using a manual clutch - even mapped to a button, is a big help in getting out of the gravel" - and it gives a lot more feel and control for the car.

edit: it also enableyou to do proper controlled doughnuts when facing the wrong way.

Dave

Yeah, but I don't like using it, also a clutch in a real car feels very different to using third pedal or button in a game, theres no feel to it. I'm not saying you shouldn't use it, if you can do well with it like that and enjoy it go ahead, it's just not for me.

I'm having so much fun with this, I just downloaded a BMW M3 GTR cup and TVR Cerbera GT. I've also got the 24hrs LeMans.

I wonder what GTR players are going to think of the GTR class cars in LFS S2 when it comes out friday.

A driver that plays GTR is not likely to be interested in anything to do with LFS, I know I speak for many in this, mainly for one reason, LFS - though a dam good racing game, is exactly that "a good racing game".

Those that drive GTR are looking for exact car physics on real and very accurately reproduced tracks.

Although GTR can be made easier to drive by use of game options, it is at the extreme top end of this "sim" that the true GTR enthusiast will be found - driving with no aids whatsoever exept maybe auto clutch - even then you will find a higher percentage of drivers not even using this.

So from this drivers point of view "LFS" - not really interested - a sim driver does not want the game to make him seem better than he is. I want a game/sim that give it to me as it really is, and then I learn how to drive properly to be competitive.

I cant wait to get GTR 'RE-INSTALLED'!!!
My hard drive crashed sending me into an entire wipe, partition, format and finally OS re-install and everything.
The computer seems to run so fast now. Maybe i had a bunch of crap on it anyhow.

So i look forward to putting GTR back on and having a go with the 550 @ Barcelona, mmmmmmm, yummy.

NIXIM< I know loads of people that love GTR and LFS, sim drivers love LFS, go to the forums. LFS and GTR are different, GTR simulates GT racing, LFS simulates races in cars closer to road models, it doesn't matter that the models arn't real because the physics that govern them are very well simulated. Me, I love them both because they both offer great physics and great racing. And BenW, I feel for you, while my HDD hasn't crashed and forced a re-format yet, it needs it, my PC's going haywire and thats the simplest solution, I'm off work for a few daysd soon so I'll do it then, I could do with more memory though, I van't keep all the stuff I want to use on my PC which is 160GB so I'll upgrade that too.

Where do you get all these from?

http://forum.rscnet.org/forumdisplay.php?f=542 just look around theres loads of stuff and links to sites with more downloads. I can't remember the specific links where I got the M3 and LeMans but they were all found on there. I got an F1 car and the Aussie V8's pack too, lots of top stuff.

No problem, I'm waiting for someone to do a TVR Speed 12 :D.

I know someone who is doing the Top Gear test track, if he completes it - it should be available soon.

Dave

i posted some links in the spa 24 hour thread by MclarenF1gtr and they link to the nurburgring downloads, and skins for cars etc..

http://www.gtrresource.com/
that seems a good place for stuff

and if you dont have thenordschleife..
http://www.hsw.hu/sbgtrtrack.shtml
its called the nordschleife and in brackets it says TheMother, it is apparently the best and its the 24hour version so i think it has the GP track built on....its only part way down but its not the first nordschleife that appears, its the second

here you go

I got about 2 hours into the Nurburgring, and stopped.
That course takes alot of skill.

Live, have you found about the LeMans porblem yet?

I'm also trying to get the FIAGT2005 Mod in, but that is a s.o.b. to get installed.
And I passed on getting a MC12 Maserati until they've updated it a bit.

I've not found any problem with LeMans, I've not tried racing 24 hours yet either. The MC12 is very fast but very tail happy, bit of an arse to control.

How the hell do you install cars? My game crashes when it gets to the track loading.. :(

Are you trying to add new models altogether or just new teams for cars you already have? Which car are you after?

New models, The Skyline and the M3 GTR.

I got them in there but they don't show in the showroom. Happened with every car I tried.

You're either just downloading the skins, or you're not putting the files in the right place. I did that with the M3 myself, I had to get the right files in the right places.

Give me a sec and I'll show you how to get the M3 pack working step by step, the same principles apply to every new car model you add to the game.

Thanks :) I'm almost to the point of pulling my hair out. Tracks are so much easier to install.

Download the 3 files here http://forum.rscnet.org/showpost.php?p=2409191&postcount=419

For the sake of keeping thins simple I've downloaded the files into a seperate folder on my desktop and I'm going to unpack them there so you'll see the following files.

talent
teams
bmwm3cockpit.gmt
bmwm3.CAS

The first 2 are the most important, open up "talent" and open up you're GTR directory in another window.

In the talent file for the new M3 download you'll see NGT, open NGT and you'll see a few .rcd files.

Open talent in you're GTR directory (located in gamedata), open NGT and then drag the .rcd files from the M3 download into there.

Then go back to the gamedata file in the GTR directory and open up teams and go back to open up teams in the download file.

Next you nead to open up NGT again in both and drag the BMW M3 file from the download in the GTR/Gamedata/Teams/NGT folder.

I didn't bother with the updated cockpit.

:odd:, ahh, something might have missed, the bmwm3.CAS file needs to go in the GTR/GameData/Teams/NGT/BMWM3 folder, put that in there and then try. Also what track are you tryng to load?

Hmm, I'll have to get back to you on that. Could you just list what files and folders and files you have in you're Teams/NGT/BMWM3 file?

here.

I don't know anything about adding mods and addons but still I manage to add every mod, addon that I am interested in.
I downloaded "winace26i5" and let this program do the work. I read the "read me" files and put the tracks in the location folder and the cars under gamedata. Some of the "fix" files, I put them under the files they belong to. If I can, everybody can for sure!!!!
Get GTRmanager and use the GTRmanager addons with GTRmanager!! :dunce:

I'm using that right now.. Still seems to crash.. damn game.. giving me hell.

I'm going for a re-install.. see what happens.

I am going to check if the M3 shows up in the showroom.
@ MdtnIte: Are there other things you want me to check???
oops to late, he's gone

** edit**: Yep, the M3 shows up in the showroom. Only the Maserati doesn't show up in the showroom.
